11. Class Definitions and Offensive Magic
The real issue, though, is protein. Shiro thought, suddenly craving meat.
I decided to start by scanning to locate prey, activating my scanning skill with a filter for edible animals within a one-kilometer radius—including just outside the barrier.
[South-east 400 meters, summoner inside the river]
[NE 700 meters, 20 Black Horn Rabbits]
[Nine hundred meters south, one giant forest bore]
"Mitoka, we’re gonna need offensive magic to hunt these guys down, right?"
“That’s right, Samona’s a salmon. Just a regular fish. Black Horn Rabbits are monsters. With your current level, you should be able to handle one at a time—if you stay alert. They attack fast with their horns, so watch out. Giant Forest Boas are tough monsters. I’d recommend leveling up with Horn Rabbits and other lesser monsters before taking one on. Also, keep in mind—there are non-edible monsters outside the barrier, so be careful.” Mitoka lectured Shiro like a teacher.
Ah, yeah, that makes sense.
Shiro reactivated the scan, this time filtering through monster data.
A few hundred fiends appear in the list. And, for good measure, they're evenly distributed around the barrier.
"……hey, this is impossible, right?" Shiro said, his face a mask of despair.
"Well, Shiro, you're not exactly cut out for a proper response right now," Mitoka said, a slight smile playing on her lips.
"Can't you just not force yourself to eat meat or whatever..." Shiro mumbled, sulking.
But one day I’ll have to leave this place. There has to be a way out! Shiro thought, desperate.
Minutes lost in thought.
I tossed the question to Mitoka. “So, what’s the class definition for entity objects in this world, anyway?”
"Basic layout, just as Shiro designed it," Mitoka replied with a composed expression, yet a hint of mischief in her smile.
The moment he heard it, Shiro’s mind clicked—what·the·hell·was·that⁉
Shiro, stunned, immediately
"Then, sensory output coefficient and presence coefficient too?" I asked.
“Yes. And Shiro can even change the value!” Mitoka replies with a smirk.
Ooh, strongest second act—here we go, Shiro’s adrenaline spikes instantly.
Sensory Output Coefficient is a parameter that controls how perceptible an entity object is to other entity objects via normal senses—what we call the five senses. Set to zero, the entity becomes undetectable by the five senses entirely. Not just invisible, but also scentless and soundless.
But detection via magic will still trigger. So, presence coefficient. Set this to zero, and you’ll no longer be perceivable by anything at all.
Shiro thought, let's try changing it right away.
"Um, how do you even change this?" I asked.
Use an Idean Skill to inspect yourself, then modify parameters to change each value.
Ah, I see, Shiro immediately went ahead and tweaked the parameters.

"Unfortunately, that would be a different spell altogether. Right now, it'd be an attribute-infused attack spell. To achieve the necessary power to take down a Black Horn Rabbit, you’d need about four points of kinetic energy."
Right. I’ll just try it then, Shiro thought, scanning the area for a suitable testing spot.
He walked to an open area just at the edge of the barrier and decided to aim at a large stone about a hundred meters away.
"Imagining a five-centimeter ball using magic manipulation, applying earth attribute to form the stone ball, setting initial kinetic energy, envisioning a speed of around one hundred kilometers per hour to reach the target one hundred meters away. Launch origin: tip of my extended hand. Target direction: the stone."
As he formed the image, a red magical circle about fifty centimeters in diameter appeared, glowing fiercely, and a stone ball materialized at the tip of his hand. At the same time, a red laser-like beam extended from his hand to the target. This pointer was visible only to him.
"Stone Ball," Shiro muttered. The circle vanished, the stone ball shot forward with a whoosh, struck the target with a tremendous crash, and shattered into dust that scattered across the ground.

"Shiro, the stone's density isn't sufficient. Also, at a hundred kilometers per hour, that's about thirty meters per second—so at this distance, it'd take three to four seconds. That’d give Big Hornra Bit enough time to dodge. I think it’d be fine if you got within thirty meters."
Shiro checked his status screen, confirming the magic power had indeed dropped by four.
"Shiro, if you test inside Idear, you won’t consume magic power. So if you’re experimenting, I recommend activating Idear."
"True enough. I’ve already tested it in reality—let’s stick to Idear for now and tweak things."
With that, Shiro spent a small while trying various adjustments.
Inside Idear, offensive magic can’t be used. To be precise, you *can* cast it, but the target won’t break even if hit. However, the 【Trace】 function includes a feature called 【Execute Plan】 that analyzes magic consumption and impact effects, displaying results numerically—perfect for testing.
After trying several variations, Shiro decided to register two different sizes with different elemental properties.
Different ball sizes meant 【Ball】 or 【Bullet】; different materials meant 【Stone】, 【Water】, 【Lightning】, 【Fire】, 【Air】. So now he could cast things like 【Stone Ball】 or 【Fire Bullet】.

"No, it seems to be a blend of [Idea]'s附属 features and this world's system. Probably [Idea]'s [Skill Auto-Registration] function. No announcements reach the locals here. You can check skills through鉴定 skills or status magic."
Then Mitoka continued.
"In Shiro's case, aside from acquiring skills through actual use, the system automatically identifies and registers equivalent skills via Idea. This time, the ball and bullet types were judged to correspond to Level 1 of their respective elemental magic. These classifications are based on the standard spirit magic system of this world."
"I see... Alright, for now, that’s enough for offensive magic."
Shiro nodded, satisfied, then added:

"Yes, that would work."
"Right. Like the stone ball, then—about a meter in diameter? No, better yet, a crystal disc, like bulletproof glass?"
He visualized it. More important was clearly imagining the effect of deflecting objects. Otherwise, it’d just be a plain stone disc.
After a moment, a green magic circle appeared—then vanished. In its place, a faintly glowing disc of light materialized before him. He maintained it as-is.
Unlike materialization, this had a magical manifestation attribute—so when he stopped channeling magic, the disc would vanish too.

Shiro felt a flicker of relief—maybe even a hint of unease—as he confirmed the barrier had taken shape.
