103. Temple 4-1
Today, I came to the temple in the magical academy city with just Shiro, Mitoka, Shestia, and Kotone. I have something I need to ask the goddess.
We were granted use of the inner chapel, and stepped inside. Then Firumia appeared, and as usual, time froze.
"Firumia-sama, it’s been a while… or rather, you’re not translucent today?"
"Fufufu. There’s no one else here, is there? Shiro-san, and everyone, hello again. It’s been a while. Now, today I’ll introduce you to my colleague, a goddess."
Firumia spoke. Then, a woman appeared beside her.
"Hello, everyone. I’m Isanamia, the goddess in charge of Earth," she said with a bright, calm smile.
She had long, straight black hair reaching down to her waist—black hair, straight and blunt, long. She wore a hybrid outfit, part traditional Japanese kimono, part Western-style clothing.
"Isanamia is the goddess who manages Earth. She’s an expert in DNA-based world systems. My partner in world development," Firumia introduced her.
"Firumia-sama, when you say DNA-based world systems…?" Shiro asked.
"Ah, I haven’t explained that yet, have I? The world system, you see…" Firumia began to explain.
In the divine realm, multiple generations of world systems exist to operate "worlds."
The first-generation world system is known as the "Physics Quantum Phenomenon Simulation Type," specialized in detailed simulation of physical phenomena, pursuing realism down to the quantum mechanics level. It supports two approaches to diversity: evolution through DNA-based organic systems, or diversity via silicon-based hardware-software intelligence.
This first-generation world system is what people commonly refer to as the "DNA-based world system."
The second-generation world system is called the "Entity Simulation Type"—a transitional system now obsolete.
The third-generation world system is known as the "Entity-Oriented Multi-Engine Type," centering on "existence," or "entities," with physical phenomena simplified compared to the first generation (though still at the quantum level), and incorporating an expandable framework for arbitrary phenomena like magic.
It features compact, vast energy sources through the mana system, more faithful reproduction of soul objects, soul-linking based on third-generation data parameterization, more authentic mental objects closer to the original soul objects. And since the first-generation world system is integrated as one of the engines, DNA-based lifeforms remain possible.
"By the way, the Filidia World runs on a cutting-edge prototype system—technically labeled the 4.1-generation. The base of the fourth generation evolved from the third, blending my design with Shiro’s. The 4.1-generation incorporates nearly all the latest features from Shiro’s newest system," Firumia explained.
"……Is that so? Feels like I just heard something massively impressive, all casual-like?"
And Shiro was surprised. The design he’d made seemed to have more influence than he’d expected—
Fufu. Shiro, you’re affecting the Divine Realm more than you realize. That means you’re closer to the world’s fundamental laws than any human should be. So, well—feel free to trust your own judgment. I, the goddess Firumia, guarantee it.
And Firumia smiled, looking at Shiro.
“Is your programming obsession finally getting you close to a god?” Kotone said, her expression half stunned, half awed.
Shestia looked at Shiro with awe, saying, “Shiro’s amazing.”
Mitoka is silently smiling.
"Anyway, the mental connection module and the Odo phase transition—those are entirely my design and implementation. And the actual definition of the soul class has more parameters than Shiro's version. Plus, mental power is far more flexible and potent. You all need to remove your mental constraints if you want to progress," Firumia said with a smile.
"Got the world system. So, about the hero summoning—why Kotone and the others?" Shiro asked straight to the point.
“Ah, that’s a perfectly reasonable question…” Firumia says, pausing with a thoughtful expression.
“I shall answer, from Isanamia!” Isanamia declared.
“Huh? Well, yeah, you’re the one causing it, aren’t you?” Firumia said.
"Why Kotone and the others? Well... it's a maiden's secret."
And Isanamia smirked.
"……Lady Isanamia, that’s not really an explanation…" Shiro began to say,
“Stop! Shiro, it’s your fault—the maiden’s secret. I can’t say any more!” Isanamia cuts Shiro off.
Shiro looked at Isanamia, surprised by the unexpected seriousness in her eyes.
“…Understood. Let’s just say they came here for reasons we can’t go into. By the way, are they definitely going to get back okay?”
“Yes, we guarantee it. We could send them back right away, but what do you think?”
Firumia glanced at Kotone.
“Not yet,” Kotone answered immediately.
“Hmph. Right. Since you’re here, why not take a tour of Filidia’s world? Go ahead and explore while Shiro handles the problem. When he’s done, you can return. Oh, and don’t worry—the time on Earth’s stopped. You’ll come back to the exact same moment you left,” Firumia said.
Then Isanamia continued.
“Well, whatever the reason, that summoning array was originally meant for material transfer from Earth to Filidia—specifically for Shiro. It was just a coincidence that the magic circle used for testing biological transfer ended up being activated. It’s deactivated now, so you’re safe. As for Kotone and the others, they’ve each been given a suitable amount of power and protection by Firumia-sama, so don’t worry. Their mental states are stable, and they’re basically good people.”
She explained.
“Really, Shiro’s friends are something else—quite a bit of untapped potential among them.”
Firumia murmured.
