139. Final Battle – Black Ball
The Black Ball, having veered off course after striking Adra, avoided a direct hit on the World Tree.
Instead, it collided with a nearby mountain range, exploding at an altitude of roughly thirty meters above the ground.
Yet the ball itself remained intact, hovering in place.
Shiro managed to temporarily contain it within a barrier he’d erected before the World Tree, but the Black Ball began rapidly expanding right there.
Shiro’s barrier couldn’t hold, and shattered instantly.
The ball grew at an alarming rate, darkening the sky, summoning thunder across the world, and shaking the earth.
Its diameter had already surpassed one hundred meters, expanding further, and now began descending.
"Damn it, this isn’t gonna be easy after all!" Shiro shouted, gritting his teeth—then, resigned, he muttered, "Initiate Snapshot."
A new feature he’d pre-arranged with Firumia-sama. Shiro’s eyes glowed faintly.
The Black Ball finally touched the ground, beginning to obliterate everything in its path.
"Shiro… I’ve seen this before…" Shestia looked at him, voice trembling, eyes welling.
"Shiro, this is bad… that mass of magic…" Mitoka trailed off, unable to continue.
"Senior… is that… could it really destroy an entire planet?" Kotone, though uncertain of details, grasped the gravity of it.
"No, not yet. I’ve been preparing for this moment. I don’t know how it was before, but this time—I’m certain. This is my ace in the hole!"
Shiro roared, then chanted, "Activate Sudo (Admin Privilege Upgrade)."
Shiro’s divine spell level 2 activated—his entire body blazed white, the chakras at his brow and crown flaring with light.
“Now, I’m activating a new divine magic barrier. Just like last time with Adra—amplify and supply magic power!” Shiro shouted.
“Understood!” “Got it!” “Yes!” The three responded, moving into position.
Shiro at the apex, Mitoka, Kotone, and Shestia at the base vertices—forming a tetrahedral barrier.
Then, Shestia whispered.
“Skill: 【Red Thread】 activated.”
She glowed crimson, a band of light connecting her to the three and Shiro.
And then—
“Alright! 【Divine Sealing Barrier】!” Shiro roared.
The tetrahedron flared golden, the barrier manifesting.
The Black Ball was pulled inside, trapped.
But just then, the Black Ball began expanding again, pressing against the barrier.
At that instant, a crackling roar echoed, and the barrier blazed even brighter.
From the high ground where the elves had evacuated, the battle unfolded in view. The fleeing elves, and the countless viewers watching through images across the world, froze in awe.
“Unbelievable…”
It was a sight too vast to speak of. Just moments ago, the massive black sphere had been burying itself into the ground, devouring everything, destroying all—frightening every watcher.
But now, surrounding that black sphere was a golden tetrahedral barrier. Everyone understood. This was the last hope.
“Stay strong! Hold it! Now, shrink the barrier!” Shiro yelled.
Shiro’s body shone brighter than ever before, his crown chakra glowing like a halo of angels.
“【Restore Nova】!” Shiro shouted.
At that instant, a white, glowing spherical barrier inscribed within a regular tetrahedron appeared, blazing intensely and enveloping the Black Ball. Then, the entire barrier began to contract.
The sheer force of the energy made the air around them roar like a storm, hurling trees and rocks into the sky.
Magic arrows of every element were nowhere to be seen.
Few monsters remained. The Tracto Lance horde had already been nearly neutralized, their combined power rendering it ineffective.
Aria and the others gathered near Shiro. They’d coordinated beforehand—Shiro would activate the tetrahedral barrier, and if possible, they’d converge around him.
Sophia stood beside Shestia, Shalina beside Kotone, Althia behind Mitoka, each channeling magical energy.
Around them, Aria, Albert, Miradia, Emilia, Makoto, Masaki, and Mizuki formed the barrier’s pillars, maintaining Shiro’s radiant beam while supplying power.
Shiro had also cast a barrier around everyone—anti-monster, anti-debris. Trees and rocks were flying through the air without mercy.
Shiro’s red thread skill had fully synced with Shestia’s. With four of them controlling it, they were attempting to neutralize the Black Ball through full synchronization with Restore Nova.
“Damn… just a little more… but they’re still faster, stronger…”
Straining, Shiro poured every ounce of magic into the white sphere, trying to maintain the neutralization.
“Senpai…” Kotone looked at Shiro, her face filled with worry.
“Shiro,” Mitoka said, her expression calm, but her mind frayed. The magic expenditure was far beyond expectations. And she could feel Shiro’s agony—like a system overload, bleeding through the connection.
"Shiro, this time it's gonna be fine. I'll handle it."
Shestia spoke with unshakable certainty.
And that firm resolve spread like a signal, overriding the worry in the other two.
Their thoughts were linked by soul sync—connected, shared. And all three remembered.
"Connection and synchronization through the trust and affection of every soul," Firumia had told them before. "And deep love." Mitoka understood that. So her actions had always leaned toward deepening the bond between Shestia, Kotone, and Shiro.
But Kotone had been the bottleneck. Earth’s culture had been a chain, and before, she’d never been able to fully commit to the four of them. Yet now, as they traveled the world together, the closeness among the three women had grown far beyond anything it had been.
Shestia sent a mental message to Mitoka and Kotone.
"Activate it—three hearts, one will."
"Yes."
"Yeah, got it."
They answered with firm resolve.
"【Red Thread】Level 2," Shestia whispered.
At that moment, all three blazed brighter than ever. Their parallel processing speed spiked tenfold, and their deep affection was converted into magic—flowing into Shiro.
【Love Magic Conversion】, activated by 【Red Thread】Level 2, was Firumia’s ace—given to the three of them. The stronger the love, the more it transformed into power.
"!"
Shiro gasped at the overwhelming surge—love, will, and magic flooding into him from the three.
"...Thank you, all of you. Now… let’s end this."
Shiro spoke, then chanted, "【Neutron】."
In that instant, Shiro and the three of them flared with an intensity that stood apart from everything before.
The barrier flared with a strange light—gold and white intertwined—and then collapsed in an instant. Vanished.
At once, the blue sky reappeared. The storm ceased. Silence returned.
Only a crater, roughly a hundred meters across, remained.
