第43掘:忙しいのに!? (Part1)

**Dungeon Excavation 43: Even Though We're Busy!?**

**Side: Eris**

"Gyaaaaaah!? There’s just too much work!! I can’t deal with these calculations anymore!!"

Ratz suddenly erupted, screaming as if she had just exploded.

Even so, she seemed to possess enough presence of mind not to knock over the mountain of documents.

"Ratz, calm down. Here, have some tea. Let’s take a break."

"That’s right. It’ll be a problem if you make mistakes from pushing yourself too hard. Let’s take a breather."

I said this while pouring tea, and Milly agreed with my sentiment.

However, the reality of the situation was that the workload was immense.

We were currently in the General Government Building on the third floor of the Residential District. This was the place where, once the representatives of the immigrants were chosen by election, they would carry out their duties.

Since the immigrants wouldn't understand Yuki’s intentions at first, we were currently acting as their representatives to handle the workload.

The construction plans and the sorting of incoming supplies were already finished. Everyone else was divided into their respective departments, working away.

"Uuuu... please, call Big Brother. Have him use the PC..."

"Ratz. Yuki-san is busy transporting supplies to the warehouse right now..."

"Well, PCs are convenient, but we have to learn to use them ourselves. We can't just leave everything to Yuki-san."

Ratz was suggesting that we have Yuki-san use the PC to handle the calculations.

But Yuki-san is the Dungeon Master here. Although he had granted us various authorities, he insisted on handling the initial deliveries himself.

Well, in truth, it was simply because there was no one else on the other side capable of handling such administrative tasks.

Yuki-san had provided a PC for each of our rooms as equipment, but... there was no way we could use them yet.

It had barely been a week since we arrived. We were still constantly surprised by the convenient items Yuki-san produced, and we hadn't yet mastered how to use them properly.

Especially this PC. Even Yuki-san couldn't use it perfectly, so expecting us to learn it in three days was simply impossible.

As a relief measure, we had calculators, which helped, but we were still physically short-handed.

"Ughhh~. Why do we have to do the accounting for the other departments too?"

"It can't be helped. The only ones here who can do proper arithmetic are the three of us, plus Yuki-san, Labyris, and Tori. Everyone else who can do it is out helping with the deliveries."

Milly tried to soothe Ratz further.

Well, it was unavoidable. In addition to her own department, Ratz had to handle the accounting for the shops. I, too, was tasked with the accounting for the entertainment facilities.

I sipped my tea and looked at the paper detailing the department assignments.

**Current Personnel Details:**

* **Dungeon Representative:** Seraria (Figurehead)

* **Dungeon Vice-Representative:** Labyris (Actual Representative)

* **Residential District Reps:** Yuki (Male), Eris (Female)

* **Work District Reps:** Kaya (Agriculture), Firia (Blacksmithing, assisted by Yuki and Riel)

* **General District Reps:** Milly (Adventurers), Eris (Entertainment), Yuki (Leisure)

* **Military:** Seraria (Roschur Rep), Yuki (Dungeon Rep)

* **Police Rep:** Tori

* **Merchant Rep:** Ratz

* **Hospital Rep:** Elju

* **School Rep:** Yuki

**General Government Building Personnel:**

* **General Representative:** Labyris

* **Vice-Representative:** Aslin

* **Family Registry Management:** Eris

* **Accounting:** Ratz

* **Complaint Reception:** Milly

* **Event Management:** Riel

* **Insurance Management:** Eris

* **Facility Management:** Milly

...Even I was juggling four roles.

Ratz only had two, but setting aside the military, she was handling the accounting for the police and blacksmiths, and as the Merchant Rep, she was doing everything for the shops.

Milly had three, and the management of the Adventurer District was starting to pick up, so she would be quite busy.

The other departments were the same; no matter how you looked at it, we were short-staffed.

Furthermore, there was the training personnel for the incoming immigrants.

**Group Training Facility Personnel:**

* **Representative:** Yuki

* **Vice-Representative:** Labyris

* **Operations Instructors:** Yuki, Eris, Milly (Meaning of the dungeon, operation methods, goals, etc.)

* **Arithmetic Instructors:** Ratz, Labyris, Tori (To increase the number of people who can calculate)

* **Common Sense Instructors:** Eris, Kaya, Riel (Explanation of facilities and how to use items within the dungeon)

* **Work Instructors:** Kaya, Firia, Ratz (Explanation of main jobs and salaries in the dungeon)

* **Election Instructors:** Yuki, Eris, Ratz (How to decide representatives and methods)

It was a headache-inducing amount of work.

I wanted the immigrants to be able to rotate into other departments as soon as possible. Otherwise, the work would be the death of us.

...Being a ruler is truly difficult.

"...Geez, if I don't eat some luxury snacks like this, I won't be able to keep going."

Ratz began crunching on potato chips.

Regarding luxury goods, we had discussed avoiding extreme items to match this continent, but since we were going to release them eventually, we decided to stock them from the start.

We judged that it would be worse to release them later and face dissatisfaction from people asking why we had been hiding them until now.

"Ah, these potato chips are delicious. Especially this seaweed flavor."

"What are you saying? It’s consommé, obviously."

" "Eh!?" "

Ratz and Milly began to glare at each other.

"Calm down. Before you start glaring at each other over that, you need to clear the documents off this desk, or Yuki-san will be disappointed, you know?"

Well, this bickering was essentially just playfulness, so I could leave them be, but this time, we really didn't have time to play around.

"Ratz, after this, we have to decide the product prices for the shops with me, Milly, and Yuki-san. You need to organize those documents. Milly, you need to set the rates for the inns and taverns in the Adventurer District, and submit the summary for the Entertainment District to me. I have to summarize the inns, casinos, and amusement facilities myself."

"Uwaa~, stop it!? Big Brother, help me... my head feels like it’s going to boil over!?"

"......I want to drink alcohol."

*Sigh.* I had to snap the two of them out of their escapism and get back to work.

Just then, Yuki-san came to our workspace.

"Oh, you guys look like you're having a rough time."

"Ah, Yuki-san. Are you finished with the deliveries?"

"Yeah. For now, I’ve placed the necessary supplies in the main areas of each district. The quantities have been verified. Essential food supplies have been properly stored, divided among the four warehouses."

"Then, all that’s left is..."

"If we decide on the pricing and the content for the training facility, that’ll be one milestone reached. So, have the drafts been summarized?"

Yuki-san shifted his gaze from me to Ratz and Milly, who were buried in a mountain of documents and not moving.

"......If I get a warm embrace from Big Brother, I’ll submit the documents..."

"......Alcohol, I want... delicious alcohol..."

"Yes, yes, I get it. If you bring those out and we discuss them, the pricing will be finished. Do your best."

"You promised!! I want an embrace in the bath!!"

"I wanted to try drinking Moet Chandon!! Please!!"

The two of them suddenly regained their vitality, grabbed the documents they had been organizing, and headed toward the conference room.

"...Well, that’s just how paperwork goes. Eris, do you have anything?"

"No, not particularly..."

"Hmm. Well, I’ll prepare something on my end. It wouldn't be right if only you, Eris, had nothing."

Saying that, Yuki-san also started walking toward the conference room.

I followed behind him, chasing his back.

He was a strange human who looked very young but was incredibly mature on the inside.

His way of thinking was that of an intellectual, not inferior to our Elf race.

I was grateful that he had saved me from slavery, but even now, there was a part of me that remained wary and fearful of this person.

As I thought about that, I remembered something the Elder had taught me long ago.

The Elder had said this:
