第63掘:説明会とご案内、そしてようこそ…!?

**Dungeon Floor 63: Briefings, Tours, and Welcome…!?**

**Side: Covil**

Yuki is absolutely, positively insane.

I mean, seriously!!

"Yes, please look at page 10. That outlines the rules and regulations—or rather, the laws—within the dungeon. Since this place has been granted autonomy, we have our own..."

He’s actually handing out dungeon pamphlets to Alstaire, Crack, and Dest, giving them a full orientation!

It’s completely absurd! It makes no sense!

Crack and Dest were literally about to kill each other with blades drawn just a moment ago! How did things end up like this!?

"Hey, Mauve, say something to Yuki."

"I don't even know what I’m supposed to say."

"What do you mean? For starters… how about the execution of those two?"

"They’ve already sheathed their weapons, haven't they? Besides, while they were the source of this conflict, the people who were actually pulling their strings to line their own pockets have already been executed as traitors. I suppose they were just being manipulated by these two anyway..."

"Um, so, even if we kill them now..."

"It’d be pointless. Honestly, looking at the results, there’s no problem here. It’s not quite a bloodless reconciliation, but they’ve aired their grievances, and a solution is on the table."

"Ughhh!! I just can’t accept this!!"

"The world is full of people who don't follow logic. Both physically and mentally. And that guy over there is the prime example."

Mauve points lazily at Yuki while sipping his cola.

Oh, right—we’re currently inside a dungeon Yuki created, which has an improvised teleportation gate connected to the basement of the Lithea Cathedral. He’s set up desks, chairs, a whiteboard for his presentation, and even a drink server, acting like he’s on a picnic.

By the way, I’m drinking orange juice.

"Well, Covil, you’re drinking juice too, so don’t complain. Or he’ll confiscate it."

"Mmphhh..."

Yuki is a terrifying child!! He’s trying to keep me quiet by plying me with juice!!

"...And that is how it works. Do you have any questions?"

"No, I have mountains of them..."

"Same here."

Alstaire and Crack voice the same opinion.

Oh, and if you’re wondering why Alstaire doesn't have any guards, it's because Crack and Dest *were* her Royal Guards.

Man, having your own kin as your enemies is scary, isn't it?

But thanks to that, the briefing is small and manageable. If anyone else were here, it would be a total riot.

"Oh, and I’ll mention this now: I’m going to show you the real thing in a moment, so I won't be teaching you the meaning of every single 'word' as we go. Ask me later. Also, don't ask where this high-quality paper or these landscape paintings came from. Explaining the principles is a pain."

His tone is getting sloppy. Yuki, you really need to do your job properly!!

"...I suppose I will have to accept that for now. But please, let me ask this one thing. I understand that Yuki is the Dungeon Master..."

"Actually, I'm just the proxy. Rurua over there can use the functions too, you know."

"Huh?"

"And I’ll address this before you ask: 'How can a dungeon be built in the holy Cathedral?' I don't know, and frankly, does the holy Cathedral even have some kind of barrier?"

"A proxy? Lady Rurua too? Wait, that’s not it. Evil things cannot approach the Cathedral! Not monsters, not dungeons, not even a Dungeon Master!!"

"Did you actually run a controlled experiment on that?"

"Eh?"

"I mean, I’m technically a proxy, but I have Dungeon Master authority. And Rurua... well, maybe it’s because she isn't 'evil'? By the way, what is the definition of evil?"

"Ugh..."

Ah, ah, Alstaire’s face is welling up with tears.

Well, of course it is. Everything she’s built her life upon is being denied.

"Well, it’s already done, so it can't be helped. Just accept it as it is."

What a forceful theory. Or maybe it’s a case of 'seeing is believing'?

"Crack, do you have any questions?"

"Ugh... ghh. ...Let's wait until I see this 'city' you speak of."

Oh, he held it together! He held it together, Crack is amazing!!

You’re going to be a great man someday, Crack! I guarantee it!!

"How about you, Dest?"

"I trust you. So, please. Save my comrades."

"Leave it to me."

Dest, I thought you were the silent type, but you really care about your friends.

Yeah, it’ll be fine. Yuki can handle anything!!

"Alright, questions are over. It’s time to go through the gate and head over."

What is he talking about? He just crushed all our questions!!

Then, Yuki kicks a hesitant Alstaire and walks through himself.

...I feel for her.

"Guh!? A trap after all!! But even if I’m unarmed, I won't be outdone by a mere goblin!!"

As we enter, we hear Crack’s spirited voice.

Oh, it’s not a goblin patrol.

Did they come all the way to the second floor?

"Gob? (What is it, Boss? Who's this guy?)"

Wait, he only said 'Gob,' but for some reason, I understand what he means.

Since when did I learn the Goblin language?

Oh, Crack is currently being held effortlessly by Steve, the Goblin Army Leader.

"Oh, Steve. How is he? He’s technically higher level than Mauve, you know."

"Gob!? (Seriously!? He doesn't have any substance to him at all!)"

"..."

Crack is crying.

It’s okay, Crack. You can cry right now!!

"Anyway, we’re getting off track. This is the guest from Lithea I mentioned earlier. I thought I’d show you the defensive capabilities of the second floor."

"Gobun... (Ah, I see. That’s perfect. We were just practicing with the grenade launchers...)"

Before Steve can finish, the wasteland in front of us is blown away.

With a massive roar, over and over again...

What!? Did they use high-level magic!?

"Oh, it’s pretty flashy when you fire them all at once over a wide area. I wanted some mortars, too, but..."

"Gobubu... (What are you saying? We put a giant hole in the ceiling. It’s a good thing it was thick; if it were thin, the upper floor would have collapsed.)"

Wait, that’s terrifying.

"That’s a bit of a concern. I need to check how much durability it has. Worst case, someone might tunnel in to attack us."

"Gob... (Only you, Boss, would think of such a stupid dungeon raid.)"

Yeah. Only Yuki would think of that.

"Well, whatever. Steve, keep training and keep up the patrols."

"Gob. (Understood.)"

"There you have it. That is the defensive capability our dungeon boasts. Amazing, right? That trench is the one on page 15 of the pamphlet, and that..."

"..."

"..."

"Amazing. You really are amazing."

Alstaire and Crack are standing there with their mouths hanging open, unable to say a word.

Dest seems to find the sight reassuring.

After that, we toured the residential training grounds on the third floor, the Super Ratz, the living quarters, and so much more.

I was having a blast, traveling around without ever stepping a foot outside the training grounds.

The workshops on the fourth floor were incredible, too—they have such convenient smithies! All the other Fairies are working hard, crafting all sorts of gear.

The fifth floor doesn't have much going on yet, but it might be the biggest one, right?

There’s an Adventurer District, and beyond that, a 'Dungeon District' where you’re told to prepare for death before proceeding!!

It’s so exciting!! To think Yuki and his friends are building a dungeon like this!!

Wow, maybe I should become an adventurer too!!

As for Alstaire and Crack...

"A dream... yes, this is a daydream. A hallucination I saw to save my people. So this is what I should aim for, Lady Lilishe?"

"...Hah!? Did I just lose to a goblin or a slime? Must be my imagination. Yes, it’s my imagination!! Because I’m alive!! It’s impossible to be defeated by monsters and still be alive!!"

Yeah, my condolences.

It seems they’ve exceeded the limits of their understanding.

"Well, I think you’ve got the gist of it. I won't go into the fine details; ask me individually later. Right now, I need to finalize the plans for accepting refugees from Lithea into this dungeon."

"...Mutter, mutter."

"...It’s my imagination, it’s my imagination."

"Hey, if you want to keep dreaming, I’ll put you to sleep forever, okay?"

"Hah!?"

"Ngh!?"

Eek~! Don't go unleashing your full magical power while inside Kiyu’s body!! It’s too scary!!

"Anyway, we’re going to the General Government Building using that teleportation trap. All the representatives of this dungeon are gathered there. We’ll finalize the discussions there."

With that, Yuki steps into the teleportation circle and vanishes.

Alstaire, whether because she can't back down now or because she’s afraid of being kicked, steps into it with dignity.

I follow behind, and there, the people who guided me when I first arrived are lined up to welcome us.

" " "Welcome!!" " " "

"To Saint-Elju!!"

"To Paradise!!"

"To the Yuki Republic!!"

"To Dungeon City!!"

"To the Safe City!!"

"To the Yuki and His Merry Friends Village!!"

"...Fried Tofu Village."

"Ah, wah..."

"Um, um, to Brother's Village!!"

"...We haven't decided on a name yet, have we?"

"Oh my, that’s a problem. A lot of people are coming, so we have to decide."

Oh, so the name isn't decided yet.

We’re taking suggestions for the city’s name.

And, can you tell who said which one at the end?

Oh, and Alstaire and Crack... well, good luck.
