**Dungeon 73: Applying Lessons Learned**

The reason for the monsters' rampage is finally revealed.

**Applying Lessons Learned**

**Side: Eris**

Today, we are gathered at the Adventurer Guild headquarters in the Adventurer District.

While we call it "work," our role is mostly just to relax and monitor the various dungeons. Still, since a new dungeon has finally been completed, I’m looking forward to it.

"Well now, it’s nerve-wracking when it comes time for actual operations, isn't it?"

"I suppose so."

I chatted idly with Ratz while we waited for the others to arrive at the guild.

Recently, we’ve finally reached a point where we can handle the influx of immigrants without constant supervision. By increasing the staff at the government office with immigrants from Roschur and prioritizing their training as instructors for identification cards and training facilities, our attempts to prepare for the care of future Litea immigrants seem to be going well.

Well, it has been about a month since we started, so it’s just a matter of having gained enough experience.

The first and second waves of Litea immigrants have already moved into the residential district and are living independently. Soon, the third wave will finish their time in the training building, move into the residential district, and head out to their jobs.

"We were really put through the wringer after that defensive battle, too."

"Yes. That’s why I believe we put a lot of effort into the dungeon's construction."

Ratz and I recalled the time after that defensive battle ended.

"Yuki!! What on earth were you doing!! If one thing had gone wrong, the entire army would have collapsed and died!!"

At the time, after finishing her talk with Seraria-sama, she had scolded Yuki-san in earnest.

However, Yuki-san just listened, looking as laid-back as ever.

"Are you even listening!? The cause was the monsters under your command going on a rampage!! Do you understand!? It was only fine because, on the surface, I gave orders to annihilate them!! The monsters under my command followed orders perfectly... and yet?"

That’s right. The monsters under Seraria-sama’s command hadn't rampaged; they had fought while strictly maintaining discipline.

We had thought, "As expected of Seraria-sama," but Seraria-sama’s eyes suddenly went wide, as if she had realized something.

"……Yuki. You did that on purpose, didn't you?"

"No, no, I didn't think Aslin would cry."

"That’s not the point!! I see, no wonder the timing was so perfect."

"Um, what does that mean?"

I asked for an explanation because I didn't quite understand Seraria-sama’s words.

"……Regarding the monsters' rampage this time. Even if Aslin hadn't cried, Yuki intended to make them rampage anyway. On the surface, it was a rampage. But behind the scenes, it was a test to see if we could control our subordinates. Even though they 'rampaged,' they didn't attack us or kill each other. They annihilated the enemy thoroughly. And the reason I realized that is because, even in that state, the monsters listened to my commands..."

"Yuki-san, is that true?"

"Man, 'a test' makes it sound so malicious. Besides, isn't it a bit much for Seraria to have beginners leading the command?"

"Guh, that’s..."

"But I understand what Seraria is saying, too. Everyone, I made them rampage on purpose this time, but I taught you how to act if a rampage occurs or if a unit retreats and loses cohesion when I'm not around, right? Were you able to put that into practice?"

Once he said that, we couldn't say anything.

In fact, we had just gone with the flow and annihilated the enemy.

"Well, don't get down. In reality, our losses were only eight goblins and eight slimes. It was extremely minor."

"Au..."

Riel’s squad had suffered the majority of the casualties, so it seemed to be a sore spot for them.

"You managed to do that much in your first battle as a military unit. As far as I'm concerned, you passed. But as Seraria said, an army is only an army if it maintains proper control. No matter how strong you are, if you can't coordinate, you risk being picked off one by one. I'm sorry, but I don't think this battle will be the last. I believe you will all have to go to such a battlefield again. That is why I did what I did this time. I'm sorry."

Yuki-san said that and bowed his head.

...That’s unfair. How can I say anything when he gives a reason like that?

"And from now on, immigrants from Litea will be coming in droves. Each representative must properly control those below them, not just in the military, or you'll end up in a world of hurt. I want you to keep that in mind."

"……This incident was a great victory. I gave the final orders. Furthermore, I am also responsible for this failure, and it was intended as guidance for you all. Since Yuki has properly explained the reflection and necessity of it, this matter ends here."

Seraria-sama said that and slumped over onto the desk.

"Are you alright, Seraria?"

"……Shut up. In the end, I was just dancing in the palm of your hand."

"Don't be so sulky. Let's play properly when we get some time off. All of you, too."

We were feeling a bit down, so Yuki-san offered us some comfort.

"However, how did you manage to hold back the monsters back then, Seraria-sama?"

Ratz asked, as if just remembering.

That’s right. At that time, the monsters had suddenly roared and lunged forward.

"Hm? It’s simple. I just gave the order: 'Do not leave your posts without permission!'"

"J-just that?"

"……So you all couldn't even do 'just that'."

"Well, my apologies."

"This is reality, Seraria. They are excellent as individuals, but command is a different matter. I suspect they were just stunned when the monsters went on a rampage."

"You're right, brother~. It was so sudden."

"It was my fault. But this was a good experience, wasn't it? You contacted Yuki, but there were many things you should have done before that."

"Commanding is quite difficult, isn't it~"

"I was able to do it right away, though."

"Well, you're royalty, so you're used to that sort of thing. Or is it just Seraria's talent?"

"Oh my, are you praising me?"

"Of course, you've been a big help."

"Thank you."

"Honestly, I was quite depressed at that time."

"Yes, I thought I was being useful to Yuki-san... or rather, I thought I was fine just as I was."

"That’s right~. We were complacent, thinking we were useful to brother. Even though there’s no limit to these things."

"Yuki-san is also studying the cultural differences of each race every day."

"Brother is trying so hard, yet we were so blind."

"Thanks to that, I've gained the motivation to re-examine everything we've done so far."

"When you look back at it, there was a lot of waste. Let's keep doing our best from here on out."

"Yes, first is the evaluation of this dungeon."

As Ratz and I talked about our future enthusiasm, more people began to gather.

"Yahoo. Oh, we weren't the first ones here."

"Eris-san, Ratz-san, you were here early."

"...Lunch. Did you eat?"

As the beastman group entered...

"Phew, even with the teleportation circle, it’s quite a walk."

"Seraria, that much shouldn't be a problem."

"Deryu-sama, it cannot be helped. Lately, I haven't been moving, so my bod..."

"Qual, if you say that in front of Yuki, I'll have your head."

Seraria-sama and the military group arrived as well.

"Vilia-chan, switch with me—!!"

"Aslin, it’s my turn first today."

"Get off and let go of brother's arm!! Hiiro!!"

"Brother said it was okay."

"...You're popular, Yuki."

"...Don't say that while you're riding on me, Labyris."

Yuki-san seems to be as popular with the children as ever.

"Um, is the clinic alright?"
