### Dig 105: The Festival and the Hero Named "Idiot"

"Aslin, Aslin!! We have to hurry!! There are so many food stalls out!!"
"Calm down, Firia-chan. The stalls aren't going anywhere."
"That’s right. Let’s take it easy."
Today is the National Foundation Day.
My older brother and sisters have worked so hard to get us to this point.
The dungeon has been named "Weed," which apparently carries the meaning of both the plant and the people.
It’s everyone’s town.
My brother is amazing!!
He built this town in just half a year.
The sisters helped, of course, but it was only possible because of him.
Everyone followed him because he was the one who said he would do it.
That’s why everyone loves him so much.
However, Brother doesn't want to be famous in the public eye.
He says safety comes first, and even for us, he says our roles as representatives are just temporary and will be replaced later.
If Brother says that’s fine, then we won’t complain.
After all, he promised that once things settle down, we’ll all live a leisurely life together.
I get to sit on Brother’s lap every day and have him pet me!!
And at night, I get to be pampered in his futon!!
...Oh, I got sidetracked.
Today is the National Foundation Day festival.
Since many people are visiting, we’re using our Doppelganger bodies for safety, but we’re going to enjoy ourselves!!

Today, we are acting separately from Brother and the others.
They’re busy talking with kings and other important figures.
So, it’s our job to do some field research and report back to them.
This is a very important task!!
The pamphlet we’re currently looking at is something we’re handing out to people, along with explanations, since many don't understand what it is.
A pamphlet is a small booklet; this one explains the festival and includes a map showing where everything is located. It’s very convenient.
It even clearly marks the locations of trash cans.
Littering is strictly forbidden!!
"I found the cotton candy here!!"
"Wait, Firia-chan. We have to eat a proper meal first."
"That’s right. Yuki will get mad if we fill up on sweets."
"Auuu, you’re right. It was a promise to Brother."
It’s a promise with Brother that we aren't allowed to eat sweets before a meal.
A 3:00 PM snack is fine, but if we eat sweets whenever we want, we end up eating without limit and sometimes can't finish the meals Brother makes.
That’s why this rule was created.
"So, what should we eat?"
"Something better than Brother’s cooking!!"
"...That’s impossible, Firia-chan."
Firia-chan, that’s just impossible.
Brother is the best cook in all of Weed.
"Hmm, yakisoba seems to be the classic choice."
"Better than Brother’s..."
"It’s impossible, Firia-chan."
"Well, she did say she wanted something that tastes bad."
Dragging the pouting Firia-chan along, we set out on an adventure to find food.
"Wow, there are so many people!!"
"It’s my first time at a festival!!"
"It really is amazing."
We’ve arrived at the plaza in the commercial district, where many food stalls are set up.
There are so many people here, all smiling and enjoying the festival.
Delicious scents are wafting from every direction.
"Oh, if it isn't Labyris-sama. And little Firia and little Aslin."
"Hey, come over here!!"
A dwarf uncle calls out to us.
He’s one of Firia-chan’s work colleagues, and he’s been very kind to me as well.
"What’s the matter?"
"Aren't you hungry?"
"We’re starving!!"
"Alright then!! Here, have some takoyaki, just like Yuki-niichan taught us. Take it."
"Is it really okay not to pay?"
Labyris-chan asks about the payment.
"Don't worry about it!! Yuki-niichan has done a lot for us. And Seraria-sama, Ratz-ojou-chan, and Narjia-sama too... they’ve done so much!!"
"Yeah!! We know you’re helping out, Firia-ojou-chan, Aslin-ojou-chan! Eat up."

There are eight pieces of takoyaki in a paper container. One for each of us.
"Thank you. By the way, do you have any other recommendations?"
Labyris-chan is asking around, but we’re just too hungry...
"Hafu-hafu... it’s hot!!"
"But it’s delicious!! Brother’s cooking is still the best, though!!"
The takoyaki doesn't quite match Brother’s flavor, but it’s still delicious.
We’re eating it while it’s piping hot, blowing on it to cool it down!!
"Well then... since you’ve filled your bellies, why not go look at some souvenirs?"
"The south side of the commercial district—it’s in the pamphlet, right? They’re selling accessories."
"I see. Thank you."
"Sure thing. It’s only the first day, so have fun!!"
Following his advice, we head toward the accessory stalls.
"Hmm. I wonder what kind of accessory Brother would say makes me look beautiful?"
"I don't know what Brother’s tastes are..."
"...That’s true. He loves all of us dearly, but I don't know what his specific preferences are."

They come trotting over to us.
"Where is everyone else?"
"Everyone is enjoying the festival. They’re all wandering around as they please."

When Viria-chan points, we see Steve and several guard goblins patrolling the area.
"That’s right. If it’s Steve and the others, we’ll be fine!!"

Only Labyris-chan seems a bit anxious.
It can't be helped. Brother once said that being worried about many things is the fate of important people.

"Can we come with you?"

We continue walking toward the accessory stalls, discussing Brother’s preferences.
"Brother’s preferences... come to think of it, Brother doesn't seem to be picky about us..."

"That’s right!! He treasures us, but Brother never tries to demand anything from us."
"He’s probably holding back. Because Brother cares about us so much."

Just as we were talking about that, a woman who looked somewhat like Seraria-onee, Rurua-onee, or Charl-chan, and a man who looked like Brother suddenly approached us...
"You monster!! You can't fool my eyes!! Prepare yourself!!"
"Eh?"

They drew their swords and swung them down at us.
