For now, I’ve arrived at the school.
Well, there’s no use dwelling on the negatives from before. It was an unavoidable force majeure, as they say.
First, I need to focus on my work. If I show that I’m sincere about my duties, my overall evaluation should improve.
"Oh, Yuki-sensei. Good morning. You’re a bit late today, aren't you?"
"Good morning, Mimia-sensei. Actually, I’ve started bringing on a new recruit today. This is her."
"Greetings. My name is Ria."
"Yes, it’s a pleasure to meet you, Ria-san. I’m Mimia, and I teach here at the school."
The introductions went smoothly. Well, if I tripped up on something like that, I’d be in real trouble.
"A new recruit for Yuki-sensei? Does this mean you’re planning on having her help with more than just the school?"

"I know that, which is why I’ve been relying on you and the other teachers to handle the school and the classes."
"But that’s only the school. Everything else is mostly handled by your own hands, isn't it? Honestly, the students worry when you push yourself too hard, so please, don't overdo it."
"I’ll keep that in mind."
I try to schedule things so I don't collapse from overwork, but I suppose it still looks hectic to those around me.
"And so, as you can see, Yuki-sensei is the type to push himself. I can only support him here at the school, but since you’ll be his assistant from now on, please take care of him, Ria-san. He is the pillar of Weed."
"Y-yes."
Oh, she seems a bit flustered by Mimia-san’s relentless barrage.
"Mimia-sensei, I was thinking of having Ria shadow you for the day. It wouldn't be fair to drag her between the military and the commercial district on her first day. Could you look after her while I’m away?"

After clearing it with Mimia-sensei, I notified the other teachers as well.
Though it’s called a school, there aren't that many students—somewhere in the high 200s, barely reaching 300. And the curriculum only goes up to the equivalent of fourth or fifth grade.
I handed Ria a summary of the curriculum to review.

* **History:** History of various nations and locating villages and towns.
* **Science:** Teaching basics, electricity, elements like oxygen, etc.
In addition to this, most of the teachers also act as guardians for the students in the dorms, as most of the children are orphans.
"So, that’s the gist of it. If you can learn all this, you won't have any trouble finding work in the future."
"I-I see."
Whoa, is she surprised by the content?
"Ria-san, it’s alright. You can take your time teaching, and we’re all learning too."
"What do you mean by that?"
"Most people here couldn't read or calculate before. We’re opening this up to the general public as well."
"Yes. It’s a project Yuki-sensei devised to make education accessible to everyone. Thanks to that, in just three months, the number of people who can read has increased, and they can handle simple calculations."

"You think so?"
"Yuki-sensei’s way of thinking is quite eccentric, so it might be hard to keep up. But it will definitely be for your benefit, Ria-san, so please do your best. Oh, and don't push yourself too hard!"
"Yes, I understand."
Honestly, I think Mimia-sensei’s favorability rating is going up more than mine. But this is work, and since I’m rarely on-site, it’s better for Mimia-sensei to handle it.
Well, there’s no need to rush; I’ll be with Ria most of the time anyway.
That’s right. I was being pressured by Seraria and Eris to make a move, but it’s not like I can become lovers with her in a day or two. I should take it slow.
"Now then, let’s see... where’s an open desk..."
"In that case, shouldn't she sit next to you, Yuki-sensei?"

Just as I was about to decline, Raiya called out to me.
"I don't mind moving."
Raiya and Curse are in charge of the adventurer and magic classes. Mauve is in charge of the new recruits at the Adventurer Guild.
Raiya leaned in and whispered to me.
"I heard about the Hero situation. It’s for the people of Weed. Do your best. I’ll give you all the support I can."
"Are you going to switch places with me?"
"No."
You bastard.
He walked right past me and spoke to Ria.
"I’m Raiya, in charge of the adventurer classes here. I’m an active adventurer myself. If you have any questions regarding that, feel free to ask. We’re working in the same place now, so let’s do our best."
"Yes, thank you very much."
Just like that, he casually cleared his things off his desk and moved to an empty seat.

While I explained how to use the desk to Ria and gathered the necessary materials for class, the bell rang.
"That sound is the signal for class to start. We’re a little late. Follow me—you don't need to bring anything today."

"This is Ria-sensei, who will be teaching arithmetic. Let’s greet her."

Hmm, she’s being overwhelmed by the children’s enthusiasm. It’s tough to be met with such energy when you’re not used to it. Regardless of romance, I just hope Ria’s heart can find some peace here.
"Ria-sensei, these are the students of 3rd Grade, Class 1. They are the most advanced class among the children and have been here since the school was founded."
"Yuki-onii-sama—I mean, Yuki-sensei—is right. I don't know about the classes, but it’s true that we’ve been here since the school started. I’m Vilia, the class representative. Nice to meet you, Ria-sensei."

Aslin waved her hand, pointing to the desk next to her.

"Today, my lesson is arithmetic. Let’s see if you’ve been studying properly—we’re starting from the basics."
"Yes!!"
I nodded at their energetic voices and—I won't mention that they all got mad when I started with simple addition and subtraction. When the kids laughed, Ria couldn't help but smile too.
Yeah, there’s no need to rush.
And for the record, this is definitely not because I’m afraid of a "death by embarrassment" scenario.
Actually, since I hadn't made the school’s learning level public, I introduced it alongside explaining Ria’s job. It is, after all, the top-tier educational system on this continent.
