第140掘:関攻略 (Part2)
"Understood. For the next two days, we will focus on evacuating the wounded and replenishing supplies. As for the demons, if they wish to serve, allow them to join the ranks. If they are injured, ensure they are sent to the rear for careful nursing—do not push them."
"Understood!"
"Also, for today, provide alcohol to everyone except for the bare minimum defense units. This is an unprecedented achievement in history; let us celebrate."
"Yes, ma'am! Right away!"
Dest hurried off after saying that.
Oh, I did make sure to hand over the written orders, of course. I couldn't just use supplies based solely on Seraria's verbal approval. It has to be formally documented and stamped. I’m diligent about those things.
"Now then... ah, there you are. Elju."
"Oh, Big Sister Chii."
After parting ways with Crack and finishing her instructions, Seraria headed toward the main camp, just as I expected, to dote on Elju. Since I am her guard, I would appreciate it if she told me where she was going, but...
"Is something the matter, Big Sister Chii?"
"It’s almost dinner time, so come on back."
"Eh? But we just took the checkpoint, I can't just leave my post..."
"Leave it to the Doppelganger. Quar is there too, so she’ll handle things well enough. My husband made a grand feast to celebrate taking the checkpoint, so it would be a waste not to come."
"U-um, Yuki-san is cooking a feast...?"
Indeed, the food Yuki-sama makes is exquisite. He uses seasonings in perfect balance to draw out the natural flavors of the ingredients. And if Yuki-sama himself calls it a "grand feast"—when even our daily meals are luxurious enough to be called feasts—it means this will be something even greater.
"Wait, please wait!"
"Oh? What is it, Quar?"
"Am I to be left behind!?"
"Well, obviously?"
*Guh!* I know she is my superior, and I respect her. But when it comes to *that* food, it’s a different story.
In fact, most of the dissatisfaction among Seraria’s personal guard from Weed stems from the meals. To accommodate the Allied Forces, the menu has been heavy on dried meat and dried fruits. While there are plenty of supplies from Weed, the Allied Forces have a policy of consuming what they brought with them first. The higher-ups realized that if they didn't, the soldiers would end up buying Weed’s products directly, and they are trying to prevent that kind of spending.
Simply put, if a flow of direct purchases from Weed were established, it would be a loss for each individual nation. The current plan is to have Weed’s goods imported to each country, where they will set their own prices and sell them, keeping the money circulating within their own borders. If the soldiers spend their money directly in Weed, the wealth accumulates in Weed, leaving their home countries with less. They want to prevent that.
Apparently, that’s bad for them in the long run, so Yuki-sama has agreed to keep the supply of goods from Weed to a minimum. We can easily provide more if there’s a real problem, but that is the current state of the Allied Forces' dining situation.
What I’m trying to say is:
"I am dissatisfied! Please take me with you!"
I cannot just sit by knowing there is delicious food to be had!

**Side: Yuki**
"Hmm?"
"What’s the matter?"
"Nothing, I just had a feeling the number of people might increase."
"That’s true. It’s so luxurious, after all. Someone is bound to be lured by the scent."
Well, it’s not like the amount I made will run out just because a few more people show up, and Labyris and the others are helping out. If it’s not enough, I can just make more. Yeah, no problem there.
"Here, take this."
"Yes, Big Brother."
"Yes, Brother."
Now then, shall I try making roast beef next?

*Author's Note:*
*This chapter was presented from the perspective of the regular soldiers. From the viewpoint of ordinary people, the actions of Yuki and his group are far beyond human comprehension.*
*Also, regarding the comments about there being too many "choro-in" (easy-to-fall-in-love characters): In reality, only Deryu and Ria truly fit that description. The others were either political marriages (Seraria, Rurua, Shera) or had their wills influenced while they were slaves (Labyris, Aslin, Firia, Eris, Milly, Ratz, Kaya, Tori, Riel).*
*Kirue’s consciousness was influenced by a combination of her role as Shera’s guard and divine instruction. Aside from Deryu and Ria, the others have spent a considerable amount of time with Yuki since meeting him. While the initial triggers involved various external wills, they fell in love only after judging Yuki’s character for themselves.*
*I intentionally wrote the Kirue story recently. Until now, she served out of duty and suppressed her own will. Her initial refusal to join Yuki’s wives was because she didn't want to be just a mere outlet for his desires. But now, she goes willingly.*
*Well, that’s assuming the definition of "choro-in" is someone who falls in love immediately.*
