第145掘:細かい説明 (Part2)
"Ah, even if the person I make contact with isn't Japanese, there’s always a chance they could be a hit or a miss, but the fact remains that they possess information."
"Um, so, you mean we shouldn't trust them too much?"
"Exactly. That’s why, when dealing with Rumer, I have to negotiate without revealing my information or anything about Taiki. Showing off our military might is out of the question. But, I’m sure they feel the same way. Those tanks that routed more than half of the 300,000-strong invading army—whether they summoned them or created them, I don’t know, but either way, making contact with that Hero or my friend is going to be difficult."
"Naturally. To them, that’s their greatest asset and their trump card. Given the scale of that victory, they’ll want to keep information about it as suppressed as possible."
"And if we try to force contact..."
"Rumer will see it as an act of aggression."
"That’s the point. I want to talk to him, too, but as long as I don’t know if he’s a friend or a foe, I can’t just make contact, let alone hand over our information so easily. If anything, he is the one person we absolutely cannot afford to make an enemy of."
"Is this 'Tanaka' person really that incredible?"
"I don't know what kind of cheat ability—or rather, what power he awakened after coming to this other world—but given the existence of those tanks, we have to assume it’s something of that caliber. I don’t want to pick a fight with a Tanaka who can freely manipulate weapons from our world."
"...I see. Just thinking about it is terrifying."
Indeed. If there is someone who can freely command tanks capable of pulverizing enemy units from an extreme distance, I can certainly understand why Yuki-san is so cautious.
"That’s how it is. We’ll gather information on Rumer, but we won’t be going there ourselves. For the time being, we’ll leave the negotiations to the three-nation alliance of Roschur, Gartz, and Lirea, who have no direct ties to this."
"So that’s why you had the coalition, excluding Weed, bring relief supplies to assist Rumer?"
"Yeah. We’ll provide the supplies for free and see how they react. They’ve been quiet until now, so it doesn’t seem like they have any intention of invading other countries, but with the overwhelming power of those Heroes added to the mix, who knows how they’ll move? There’s no harm in maintaining a friendly stance."
It seems Yuki-san can no longer afford to casually meet others from his original world.
"And a request for everyone here: in your line of work, you’ll meet all sorts of people. But if someone mentions they are Japanese, do not, under any circumstances, talk about me. Tell them about Taiki or the Heroes of Rumer instead. It’s for your own safety. Also, be especially wary of anyone who mentions my real name; it means they are trying to gather information on me by any means necessary."
"Understood."
He really is thinking through every possible angle and acting accordingly. I had been thinking of asking why he uses a pseudonym, but he addressed that topic as well.
"Oh, right, Taiki reminded me—about Ranks..."
My questions concluded, and we returned to casual conversation over tea. Yet, even while chatting, I know that countless thoughts and worries are swirling within Yuki-san’s mind.
Because of this turn of events, I have become... free? Should I return to Roschur, help build up Weed alongside elder sister Chii, or perhaps choose another path entirely? As I sipped my tea, I began to contemplate my future.
My apologies. For these reasons, you won't be seeing Tanaka for a while.
Tanaka has his own separate story arc, so... I might write it if I have the time!!
Or perhaps I’ll continue the Tanaka story after *Winning Dungeon* concludes.
Well, Yuki and Tanaka are in separate stories, so they will rarely interact. Please understand that.
If those two were to meet, it would trigger the final war.
