**Dungeon 190: Reactions of the Units**

**Side: Yuki**

Well then, having entrusted the notifications to Jessica, I spent my time in the Zilba Empire’s royal capital dealing with the King and making preparations for the units heading this way.

Since they would be assembled in just three days, my "preparations" mostly involved securing usage permits for the available land and housing.

I’ve placed orders for food, but as Steve’s reaction suggested, the quality is bound to be terrible. For the sake of morale, I’ll be providing our own supplies. Food is important, after all.

"So, how did the final organization turn out?"

I asked, scanning the papers detailing the units and supplies organized by Seraria, Eris, and Ratz, based on Jessica’s instructions.

The supplies were mostly as I had anticipated and exactly what I requested.

While firearms are generally to be kept secret, they are our ultimate trump card in an emergency. It seems I’ve given the green light for the goblin captains, led by Steve, to carry firearms in their Item Boxes.

To the naked eye, they look like standard equipment: swords, shields, armor, and bows.

At least, they *look* that way. Inside, they are the signature weapons crafted by Narjia-san, complete with biometric authentication.

Even if they were captured, the enemy wouldn't even be able to fire them.

Since the authentication is based on magical signature, there’s no lag—unlike on Earth, there’s no need for cards, keys, or passwords.

If the authentication fails, the weapon releases an electric shock strong enough to knock the user unconscious, making them excellent tools for setting traps as well.

This will serve as the basic equipment for the invasion of the Enaria Holy Kingdom, the dispatch to the royal capital, and the dungeon defense.

I say "basic" because for the invasion, we’ll be using siege weapons and iron transport carts (marauder-types). Since we have an excuse for those, we plan to take it easy on the transport—excluding the obviously high-firepower weaponry.

Showing these things off will likely help the enemy understand exactly why they lost.

Showing them from the start would only invite backlash, but since the negotiations are already settled, they should be accepted with relative normalcy now.

The main invasion force consists of myself, Ria, Jessica, Shera, Tori, Riel, Kaya, Labyris, Aslin, Firia, and about 50 members of the goblin squad.

Honestly, it’s a collection of our peak combat power.

For the dispatch, we’ll be bringing iron carts, various weapons—not basic swords, bows, or spears, but maces, long-reach spears, and other specialized, archaic-looking armaments—to fulfill my promise to the King.

Naturally, since this includes an investigation team, we’ll be bringing the necessary equipment for that as well.

The royal capital dispatch unit consists of Steve, Zargis, Curse, and about 100 goblins. The reason there are more goblins here is in case we need to mobilize them from this location.

Not that we’d need that many to suppress the capital, though.

Zargis and Curse are, needless to say, our magical research personnel. They’ll also be scouring the archives for literature.

As for the dungeon defense, it goes without saying that unless they are enemy forces or our own people, no one is allowed to pass, let alone enter.

That includes the local demi-humans.

Therefore, while the basic equipment is for "outdoor" use, the defense equipment is on a completely different level.

We have 10 fixed artillery batteries covering the dungeon, positioned to support the north, south, east, and west.

There are 8 anti-aircraft guns to intercept enemies from the sky.

Finally, 4 M1A1s. M1 Abrams—to put it simply, they are the main battle tanks of a certain major power, equipped with a 120mm 44-caliber smoothbore gun that can switch between various types of ammunition.

The core of the APFSDS shells uses depleted uranium, which can pierce the armor of even average tanks.

I gave my wives and monster combatants a brief explanation, fully expecting some misunderstanding: these APFSDS shells don't just pierce armor; upon high-speed impact, they generate intense heat, causing the remnants of the shell and fragments of the armor to scatter inside the target.

In other words, they are shells designed to destroy the interior rather than just penetrate.

By "interior," I don't just mean destroying the mechanisms; it’s to eliminate the soldiers inside with the shockwave and shrapnel.

No matter how sturdy a vehicle is, the crew inside isn't.

Though they aren't sub-weapons, two machine guns of different calibers are also mounted.

Honestly, I would have preferred the M1A2 for its fuel efficiency and performance, but the DP cost was over three times higher, so it was out of my reach.

I had to beg my wives to let me get these four tanks. Each one cost 20 million DP, not including the ammunition.

It’s a massive expenditure, but it’s also a test to see how well modern weaponry functions in this other world, so it’s a good investment.

Naturally, I have two more in my own Item Box.

The total cost came to about 180 million DP.

You could say it’s thanks to the 17,000 residents of Weed. Even at a minimum of 1 MP per day, that’s about 400,000 DP.

About 12 million a month.

"Wait, isn't that not enough?" you might ask, but that’s the *minimum*. With adventurers and tourists from other countries, the income is more than triple that.

Honestly, I thought about Mobile Suits or ACs, but when I think about that useless goddess, the price of these tanks makes sense.

It would be strange if I could get an MS or an AC for only 10 million.

No, in a sense, the grammar isn't wrong.

It’s like a document scam—it just means the item becomes "available," meaning the option to purchase those MS or AC units is added to the list.

Well, I chose the reliable tanks over vehicles I wasn't sure I could even operate, and I didn't feel confident I could hide or explain away an MS or AC.

For this reason and others, I haven't introduced fighter jets or helicopters capable of aerial combat yet.

Dragons and the like can be dealt with using anti-aircraft missiles, and we can handle them with magic anyway.

However, these tanks aren't well-suited for offensive maneuvers in this world.

They are far too weak against magic.

If that doesn't ring a bell, I remember chatting with Tanaka about how even if you get modern weapons in another world, you can't rest easy.

The problem isn't armor or firepower.

One could consider direct attacks on the crew via magic, but if such incredible magic existed, large-scale wars between massive armies wouldn't happen in that world.

You could just target the leaders or commanders from a distance.

The tank's greatest enemy is the terrain.

Actually, terrain and weather are the greatest obstacles for any living thing.

Tanks, which cannot fly or jump, cannot advance through forests or climb mountains, making them extremely vulnerable to magic that alters the terrain.

You could instantly neutralize a tank just by using magic to create a hole large enough for it to get stuck in.

Conversely, if we have mages who can alter the terrain, our advance becomes much easier.

It’s clear that Earth has its way of fighting, and this world has its own.

That’s why the tanks are being used as a mobile defense force.

We have mountains of other portable firearms, so if this dungeon falls, we’ll just flee this continent.

Oh, and Mauve, Raiya, John, Mino-chan, and their subordinates have joined the defense.

"Well, I guess this is it. It’s safe. Not that I’d want an 'interesting' formation anyway."

There’s no point in adding flair to something like this.

For now, the negotiations with the Zilba Empire are finished, so I might as well go check on the units as they prepare.

"Oh? What’s wrong? You were supposed to be done for the day, right?"

Ria asked, looking puzzled as I stood up from my seat.

I waved the papers in my hand and replied.

"I'm going back to check on the troops."

"I see. In that case, shall we go?"
