第244掘:学府編 完 (Part2)

"So, what exactly happened? I thought we were going to buy the items needed for enrollment, but then you declared we were leaving. I was incredibly flustered. I need a satisfactory explanation."

Agil returned to the room and immediately demanded an explanation for what had just transpired. The members behind him felt the same.

"Alright, alright. For now, it's a long story, so sit down. And get some tea. Lia, please."

"Yes, understood."

As Lia began preparing tea, everyone finally settled down at the table and on the beds. It was a large room, so quite a few people were present. Well, at least the members for infiltrating the academy could fit comfortably.

"So, Yuki-san, where should we start?" Taiki-kun asked, sitting beside me.

"For now, how about we start with the reason for our hasty return? The other flags won't make sense, and they aren't related to the enrollment, are they?"

"Ah, right. But, it's almost like an expected event, or rather, it feels like I'm intentionally trying to set up a flag at this point."

"Well, we can discuss that later."

While we were talking, it seemed tea had been served to everyone.

"Alright, so what happened was..."

We were standing at the entrance of the academy. Should I say finally, or should I say we got here easily...

"Yuki-san, you're leaving the handling of this to me, right?" Taiki-kun, who had come with me, asked as if to confirm.

"Ah, it's going according to plan. But, as I said, I'll leave the interference flags to you."

"Yes, I understand. Although, since we've come this far without any problems, it's more about being prepared, I guess."

"Indeed. It would be too much if the expected events happened so easily."

With that, we stepped onto the grounds with a laugh, and at that very moment, it happened.

"Oh my, you there, do you know that this is the Academy of Magic, Lancer?" a voice called out from behind us.

The voice was female, but I had a strong sense of foreboding. Oh, by the way, Lancer is the name of this academy. It literally means spear, signifying the cutting edge of magic. But that's irrelevant.

"Can you hear me?"

All we had to do was quickly turn around and explain that we were new students...

However, hearing that tone, both Taiki-kun and I thought, *This is bad.*

What is this, is this academy full of traps?!

"Yuki-san, should we run? Should we turn around? Or rather, I'm scared of events happening on the very first step after entering the grounds. Is this a minefield?"

He's thinking the same thing as me. Damn it, these types of events are my responsibility. We divided it so that I handle the main story's expected events, and Taiki-kun handles the sub-story ones. Of course, I'll break those flags.

"Ah, I'm sorry. I was so captivated by that tower that I didn't notice you. Hey, Taiki-kun, there's someone behind us."

"Eh, ah, I'm very sorry."

However, our preparation and review were thorough, and we dodged the suspicious actions by providing plausible reasons and coordinating our responses!!

And when we turned around, there stood a drill-haired girl with golden curls. Her face was that of a beautiful girl, no problem there, but she exuded an aura of nobility. Understand, she was *exuding* it, not just radiating it; her appearance and demeanor were like an advertisement proclaiming, "I am important."

Upon confirming her appearance, we bowed our heads to the woman and felt even more, *This is bad.*

"Yuki-san, can I laugh? Even among the nobles in my domain, there aren't many like that. What is that unnecessarily luxurious outfit? Can I laugh and then hit the floor?"

"Stop it. If Taiki-kun laughs, I'll surely burst out laughing too. I can't stand it. Besides, that outfit is probably because it's this academy. People gather from all countries to study magic, so maybe she's showing her authority through her clothes to make it easier to identify her."

"Wow, if that's the reason, I can accept it. I think I can hold back my laughter. I think I can endure it even if someone comes in with flashy red and white outfits."

"No, if something like that came, I'd run away laughing."

Yeah, I can imagine it and laugh.

"What are you whispering about? And what business do you have that you've set foot in this academy? You don't look like faculty or staff..."

The young lady looked us up and down, appraisingly. Her attire didn't suggest nobility; it was more like an adventurer's outfit, or rather, a mercenary's on this continent. If this continues, she'll probably call the guards and cause a commotion. That's far from the development we're aiming for.
