第２５６堀：嫌な真実かも？ (Part4)
Exploring the depths of magic alongside my master had been a fascinating endeavor, and I had spent my days in silent, dedicated study to broaden my horizons. However, there came a time when my master introduced me to this academy, and as part of my training, I was enrolled as a student.
It has been roughly four years since I arrived. Unfortunately, the curriculum here failed to satisfy my thirst for knowledge. I quickly rose to the top of the class, and setting the lectures aside, only the vast collection of books in the library could keep my intellectual hunger at bay.
In any case, the training period mandated by my master would end in about two years, bringing my tedious life at the academy to a close. I suppose I might continue to use the library, but...
"…Still, I haven't made many friends. My master will laugh at me."
I thought to myself while reading a book. One of the tasks my master had set for me was to make many friends, but that was one goal I seemed destined to fail. The only person I could truly call a friend was Eoid. Yet, even that connection was on shaky ground due to his complications with Amanda.
"…There is no problem in life if one has no friends."
Yes, there is no problem. As long as one can manage the necessary interactions to survive, there is no need to be friends. ...And yet, seeing Eoid, who had become my friend, talking so happily with Amanda, I couldn't help but feel a pang of envy.
As I pondered this, I noticed a commotion outside my hidden room. Straining my ears, I realized someone knew of this place and was searching for a way to enter. What could this mean? Only Eoid, Amanda, and the principal knew of this location. Had they told someone?
As I listened, I overheard something intriguing: this academy was filled with "dead points" and countless hidden rooms. It was true that the academy had a long history; it was only natural that there were places I didn't know about. And I couldn't deny the possibility that treasures might be hidden within those rooms.
...For the first time in a long while, my heart cried out that it had found something truly exciting.
The people who eventually entered were the transfer students from Zilba—the same group as Eris, the woman who had defeated the principal in a duel. They were strange people. No, perhaps it is rude for me to call them strange. But they were. They spoke to me as if I were a normal person. And yet, that normalcy made me happy.
Ria and Airi became my friends, and in an instant, my circle of companions grew. I even learned the reason things hadn't worked out with Amanda. Today was a wonderful day.
But it didn't stop there. I decided to marry Yuki, the man who had come to visit, as my husband. Yes, even though I was pushed into it by Ria, he wasn't bad to look at, he treated me like a normal person, and since he was the husband of Eris and Ria, he couldn't be a bad man. My intuition was screaming at me: if I let this opportunity pass, I would surely regret it.
And so, I was led away by Ria to make the rounds for introductions, but...
"Where is this?"
I was surrounded by buildings I had never seen before, and the place was overflowing with vitality. It was incomparable to the academy or the town of my birth. Or rather, how did I even get here?
Noticing my confusion, Ria looked toward me.
"Welcome to Weed."
"Weed?"
"Yes, it's the town that Yuki-san built. Come, follow me."
Pulled along by Ria, I began to walk through this unknown town. I don't understand the meaning of many things, but my intuition was not wrong. What will happen from here on out? Whatever it is, I don't believe it will be bad. I am certain that it will be something filled with happiness.
And so, I have ended up having to investigate the forest of monsters!!
It’s not like a King of Monsters is going to appear, so don't get your hopes up!!
Also, next time, there will be pitfall traps.
