外伝:俺たちは自由にやる!! (Part7)
He couldn't. Before she could counter with her talismans, something like a glowing wall blocked it, and the man's cursed talisman attack dissipated.
"Huh?"
"What?!"
Once again, neither she nor the man could comprehend what was happening.
Centered around Takaya, a mysterious hemispherical glowing wall covered all three boys, her, and the soldiers. Yes, if one were to describe it, perhaps a barrier?
In this absurd situation, oddly enough, the man, the master of this otherworld, was the most confused. They had broken through a dilapidated school, which could be called a nest of aberrations, instantly neutralized soldiers formidable enough to make him break out in a cold sweat, healed the dying woman with unknown techniques, and now his own attacks were being nullified as if they were nothing.
Therefore, the man questioned the boys as if shouting. "Who exactly are you?!" He couldn't help but ask.
The man, who had mastered all manner of abnormalities, couldn't keep up with the abnormalities that surpassed his own understanding, just like her. It would have been better if the explanation was simpler. Perhaps the boys were also specialists in spiritual matters, like her. If he could have anticipated such an answer, he wouldn't have been this confused. However, the inexplicable phenomena unfolding before his eyes completely crushed that line of thought. They simply wielded incomprehensible power. All he understood was that those boys existed beyond his comprehension.
He didn't expect a proper answer. Still, he couldn't help but ask. However, the boys opened their mouths without hesitation.
"Huh? I'm Shinjo Susumu. I'm a first-year high school student. Call me Susumu, nice to meet you." The smallest boy replied with a smile.
"If Susumu says it's fine, then I guess it is. I'm Hisho Takaya. Also a first-year high school student. My hobby is research. Ah, Takaya is fine." The long-haired boy also introduced himself normally.
"…Haa, well, whatever. I'm Shiraki Kazuma. Also a first-year high school student. My name is easily confused with the next guy's, so please call me 'Shin-no-ji' (the character 'Shin')." The boy who had instantly incapacitated the soldiers finally showed a human-like emotion and answered after Takaya.
"Ugh, no way. Don't I get to skip introducing myself? Ah, right, no, I don't. Haa. I'm Kazuya Torino. Also a first-year high school student. My name is similar to Shin-no-ji's, so when you call me, please use 'Ya-no-ji' (the character 'Ya')." The ordinary boy probably wanted to refuse to introduce himself, but he was glared at by the three other boys and reluctantly introduced himself.
However, that wasn't what the man or she wanted to hear. Not their false identities, but the name of the organization they belonged to. An organization that wielded power beyond their comprehension, and the man wanted to figure out how to somehow overcome it.
"No, what we're asking isn't that kind of superficial information. We mean, aren't you secretly part of some organization?" Even she, as expected, interjected at their completely off-topic answers. Incidentally, she was already dressed.
Well, she didn't expect them to honestly reveal the organization they belonged to either. However, the boys' answer remained unchanged.
"No, we're high school students."
But their words and expressions were serious. Both the man and she felt that it was a truthful, honest reply. Seeing Takaya's serious expression, she finally remembered something.
"Ah, Hisho… as in, *that* genius Hisho?!"
"What, *that* Hisho?! …Indeed, I recognize the name."
The man also remembered the genius scientist Hisho from her words. A genius that Japan boasted of, a genius couple who published various papers and garnered attention. That couple certainly had a child. That was the long-haired boy before them, Takaya.
However, current science had no effect on what the man and she used, which was considered unscientific. It was a field yet to be elucidated. Therefore, no matter how much of a genius he was….
