落とし穴49堀:しあわせ (Part2)
That’s right, I remember how frantic things were when we first dealt with the Fairies. Everyone was running around the shop, stocking shelves and working the registers. It was because I got carried away and requested a place large enough to handle a massive amount of goods that this place appeared. Back then, I didn’t know Yuki was from another world, so I had expected a shop the size of a single house at most.
And then, this happened. Automatic doors, climate control, a vast interior, massive refrigeration units, spacious warehouses, and an endless variety of products. Honestly, I thought I’d lose my footing from the shock.
"Hm? Isn't that Ratz? What are you doing here?"
"Oh, you're right. What could she be doing?"
"…It’s, it’s heavy. Samantha, help me."
"I refuse. You should carry what you buy yourself. Besides, you really ought to think more carefully before purchasing things."
"…Ugh, you’re right."
As I looked toward the shop, Yuki, Samantha, and Cleena walked out.
"No, I was just stopping by on my way home. Are you all out shopping?"
"Yeah. I got a message saying we were running low on ingredients for dinner tonight, so I came to pick some up."
That makes sense. Lately, Yuki has had fewer opportunities to cook, but when it comes to selecting ingredients, he has an eye for quality that rivals Kirue and Sasari, so he often goes out for supplies. As a woman, it’s a bit frustrating to lose to him in cooking, but since it’s Yuki, I suppose it can’t be helped. Instead, I’ll give him some breast milk later; my chest has been feeling quite full, and it’s a bit much for Schans and the others to handle.
"And what about the two guards' luggage?"
"Just some personal shopping for our rooms. The snacks here are delicious, you see."
"Exactly as she said."
"So, you bought too much, then?"
"…It couldn't be helped. There were just too many attractive items."
Cleena looked away, trying to avoid his gaze. Samantha had a modest amount that she could hold in one hand, but Cleena had shopping bags bulging in both of hers. It was a familiar sight. We were involved from the very beginning, and I remember that the first time we came here, we brought back as much as we could carry. The Fairies who came to Weed after that spent money just as recklessly, too. Even the slaves brought to Weed probably would have splurged if they had the money. I suppose it’s just a path everyone walks.
"Ratz, if you don't have any other business, want to walk back with us?"
"Yes. Let’s go home together."
It’s impossible to turn down an invitation from Yuki. I’ll just push my work onto my subordinates. It’s for the sake of their growth, so there’s no problem at all. Since Cleena’s hands are full and one of Yuki’s arms is free, I link my arm with his.
"…Ratz, the luggage."
"No. You really should have thought about what you were buying."
"…It can't be helped today. I'll endure it."
The four of us walk home leisurely through the sunset. In the middle of it, Yuki suddenly speaks up.
"Hey, Ratz. What are you going to do after your term as the Super Ratz representative ends?"
"Eh? Why, help you out, of course, Yuki?"
What a strange thing to ask.
"No, I mean aside from that. You wanted to have your own shop, didn't you? Once your work for the state is finished, why not just file an application and open a toy store or something?"
"Ah."
Hearing that, my heart feels warm and fuzzy. Yes, I’m truly happy.
"That’s true. But, would that really be alright?"
"Whether it's alright or not... it's what you want to do, isn't it? It’s not like that would cause you to leave me or neglect our daughter, right?"
"That is absolutely impossible!!"
Impossible. Leaving Yuki or neglecting our daughter?!
"Then, you should just do as you like. I’ve been forcing a lot on you all. Milly and Riel have their drinking and exercise to blow off steam, but Ratz and Eris don't really voice their own desires, so I’ve been a bit worried. If there’s something you want to do, don't hesitate to do it. We’ll support you, too."
"Yuki…"
Well, to be honest, I’m already happy enough—or perhaps in Eris’s case, she vents by "eating" Yuki... Actually, if I say things like that, I’ll just end up pinning him down! I’ll eat him as soon as we get home!
But, a toy store, huh? Hmm. Once I get home, before I eat Yuki, I should organize my plans. I have the "Rabbit Mark 2," an improved version of the one I gave Aslin, and I could make that the main attraction…
Truly, life is never boring with Yuki. He is the best husband.
The reason things were out of order was because of that game. And so, while Weed has its ups and downs, it moves to the next step. The wives are also off searching for their next happiness. Peace is the best.
