第507堀:現状のマトメ (Part2)
As I said that, I wrote "Organizing Objectives" on the whiteboard and began listing the tasks that needed to be done underneath.
**Organizing Objectives**
**Ultimate Goal**
・Investigate the magical anomalies on the continent where Baide is located. (Current priority: Low)
Reason: The safety of the surrounding area has not yet been secured.
**Tasks to be addressed to achieve the ultimate goal**
・Secure the safety of Baide. (Priority: High)
We must protect the base connected to Weed.
・Smooth out relations with neighboring countries to protect Baide. (Priority: High, as it relates to the above)
Those neighboring countries are currently in a state bordering on open conflict.
・Research the magic. (Priority: High)
Primarily to ensure that the activities of the Weed members are not hindered.
・The monster summoning incident caused by sacrifices in the Findar Empire. (Priority: Low)
While it is a stepping stone toward the ultimate goal, there is no choice but to leave it be for now.
・Gather information on other countries. (Priority: Low)
While indispensable, there is no time to spare for that right now.
**Necessary actions to secure Baide’s safety and smooth relations with neighbors**
・Arrange discussions with Haiden and Findar.
We have already begun moving toward talks with the Findar Empire.
It is predicted that discussions with Haiden will be impossible due to the sheer volume of unsettling rumors surrounding them.
・Therefore, we plan to make Haiden behave through other means.
We will drag out someone capable of holding a conversation.
Occupying Haiden with Weed forces is unrealistic, so that option is rejected.
**Addendum**
・We must also handle duties within Weed, such as supporting intercontinental exchange.
*Clack.*
I set the pen down and let out a sigh.
"…That’s about it."
Writing it all out myself only made me feel more depressed. Back in the New Continent, I was free to do as I pleased as a mercenary, but things aren’t so simple this time. Protecting a village of beastmen is completely different from protecting a trade city like Baide under Weed’s protection. Honestly, I was at the point where I would have preferred the beastman village to just disappear.
There is also the town of Betan, a granary region governed by Horst that was ceded to us by the Zilba Empire and the Enaria Kingdom. But that place belongs to Zilba and Enaria, so I could just dump all the diplomatic headaches onto them.
However, with Baide, there are restrictions that force Weed to handle all the miscellaneous tasks ourselves. Moreover, I can’t just bring people over from Weed, so my wives have to handle it all.
I heard from Ratz that if this situation leaks out poorly, there is a very high possibility that the public sentiment in Weed will become uncontrollable. Seraria and Eris agree, so we are in a state where we have to manage the stabilization ourselves within our inner circle, or things will get even more troublesome.
In the current situation where simple travel via Doppelganger isn't possible, I have to physically travel between Weed and Baide to use the Doppelganger ability, which is a huge hassle. Furthermore, the problems Weed is facing aren't limited to the continent where Baide is located.
There are no major issues for now, but intercontinental exchange between the continent where Weed is located and the New Continent where Hifi and the others were is already underway, so we have to support that as well. Thanks to that, it’s difficult to pull Hifi, Taizo-san, and the others into this current mess. Naturally, the same goes for Taiki-kun, who is a king himself.
We are literally in a situation where Weed’s small group of elites—mostly just my own family—has to somehow make this work. When we went to the New Continent before, most of the trouble was already over, so it was fine, but this time, everything started just as we were getting things off the ground.
"Ugh..."
"…When it’s written out like this, the tasks really do pile up, don't they?"
"We have no choice but to crush them one by one. *Sigh*, it’s a pain, though. For now, the first step is creating these documents. The members who stayed behind in Weed don't fully understand the details yet. I have to work hard for a while to ensure Baide’s safety."
After working for a while, I received a message from Shera, who was out giving a sightseeing tour.
『Kagura-san ate too much and can't move, so our return time will be delayed.』
That’s starting to become a recurring gag.
"Can't be helped, I suppose."
"Naturally. It’s because the food is just too delicious."
I think it’s just normal, though.
Yes.
For now, that is the summary since the summoning.
This time, there are quite a few restrictions.
I can barely use my monster subordinates, and there are many things that must be done.
In other words, it’s time for my rowdy wives to take the stage.
We might finally get to see some of my long-awaited, dignified "I'm OP" moments.
Ah, wait, no. It’s "My Wives are OP" moments.
Anyway, that aside, the reality is that it is March 18, 2017.
*Monster Hunter XX* is being released.
I have to play it!!
I can manage up to a Kut-Ku with the starting equipment, but anything else is a masochistic run where I'll either run out of time or get one-shot.
