**Chapter 589: Getting to Know the Academy**

A refreshing morning.
The crowd parts before us.
It feels invigorating.
I truly felt that from the bottom of my heart.
Yesterday’s match? Demonstration? Bullying? Whatever it was, no one looks down on us as mere children anymore.
Well, we had been running wild in Baide, so the upperclassmen weren't that surprised, but the lower-level students didn't know that. To them, we were just "guests," and since this is the undeveloped New Continent, they assumed we came from some incredibly backwater country. They looked down on us with disdain—mostly the men, who thought it was arrogant for girls to act so boldly. I was almost impressed by how severe their patriarchal views were.
The female students were sympathetic, whispering to each other about how stifling it was, and they were quite kind to us. Life at this academy wouldn't have been a problem, but there was no reason to be annoyed by these people constantly. So, while Seraria was proving our strength, we just followed suit. If we hadn't, I’m sure there would have been a rain of blood today. There were some perverts staring at my chest who looked like they were ready to pounce. Yuki gets angry if we spill blood unnecessarily, so I just chose this method instead.
"No, no, why are you making everyone fear you?"
"Oh? Yuki."
"Ah, Big Brother."
"It is Brother."
While we were relaxing in the classroom, Yuki showed up for some reason before class started.
"Kagura and Kanna came crying to me, saying the instructor in charge was begging them while in tears, claiming it was 'too terrifying to teach the three of you.' I followed them after we parted at the gate, and I was surprised to see people scattering away from you. Well, I suppose that’s only natural."
"Yes. That was the whole point."
We belong to Yuki. And Yuki belongs to us. We just made it clear what happens if you try to lay a hand on what's ours. Actually, Kagura is one thing, but Kanna is hopeless too. Can't they be more resolute?
"No, no. If anyone could stay calm after seeing that display of magic, they’d have to be a big shot."
"Then Yuki must be a big shot since you're calm. As expected of our Yuki."
"Big Brother is amazing!"
"Brother is amazing."
"Yes, yes. Never mind that. Let’s start by asking what you three want to do from here on."
The three of us praised Yuki, but such things don't work on him, so he moved the conversation forward.
"What do you mean 'what do we want to do'? We intended to take the classes like normal."
"Big Brother told me to memorize the lesson contents, after all."
"I am very curious about the magic studies of other lands."
We just silenced the annoying ones. It doesn't change what we're going to do.
"I see. So you three are fine with taking the classes. However, the teacher has become quite intimidated..."
"What a pathetic story."
"Well, I'll go explain our intentions. That should put them at ease."
Yuki stood up, saying it couldn't be helped. He’s going to go talk to them. In that case...
"Hm? Are you going somewhere?"
"It would be a nuisance for us to be here until you finish talking and they're convinced, right? So, I thought we might explore the academy in the meantime. We haven't looked around in detail yet, have we? Like the library or the corners of the academy."
"Ah, I suppose so. We're still in the middle of building trust. That might actually be a good idea. Labyris, you three come along too. I'll tell them about the situation, and I'll get permission for your academy exploration at the same time."

"Yay!"
"Exploration it is."
It’s hard for Aslin and Firia to just sit through classes all day. A little something like this is fine. Recently, they’ve been helping Shera and Ratz with the paperwork for Baide. Eris, Ratz, and Milly were happy, saying they could become future aides or accountants, but there’s no need to force them to do that at such a young age. As Yuki says, I think they should just relax and be children.
As a result of the discussion, it was decided that yesterday’s incident was just "acting." The teacher for the lower-level class where we are staying breathed a sigh of relief and agreed. They asked us to join starting tomorrow, as they would explain things to the students by the end of the day. The teacher said that if something happened and we got angry, they wouldn't have the means to stop us, so they couldn't accept us for the students' sake.
...Hmm. I feel a bit guilty for scaring them too much. We wouldn't harm anyone who didn't provoke us, but I suppose it doesn't look that way after what happened yesterday. Or maybe they just think we're emotionally unstable because we look like children?
Well, whatever. At least we got permission to explore the academy today. With conditions, of course.
"Um, I'll be in your care today, you three."
The one greeting us is Kagura.
"Please take care of us."
"Please, it is."
"Nice to meet you."
Since it would clearly be an issue for three little girls to wander the academy alone, Kagura was assigned as our guide. Since she knows more about us than any random teacher, and above all, serves as a diplomat for Weed, it was decided she was the best fit.
"Alright, Kagura. I don't think there will be any problems, but I'm counting on you to look after these three."
"Ah, yes. Leave it to me."
"You three, if anything happens, rely on Kagura. The founder of this academy is Kagura's ancestor, so she'll be useful in that regard."
"Hey... just because I'm a descendant of the founder doesn't mean I can do whatever I want, you know?"
"These three know that. Just keep an eye on them. Well, I'm heading back to class. If it's just Taiki-kun, he won't be able to handle the barrage of questions from Kanna and the teachers."

We saw him off, but Kagura couldn't take her eyes off the hallway where Yuki disappeared.
...Hmm. Vilia mentioned something, but I smell something fishy. Kagura shouldn't have much contact with Yuki outside of work. And in their work, she tends to push unreasonable demands on him, so unless they had a bond like Steve and the others, she should be in the category of people who dislike him or find him difficult to deal with. Kagura is serious by nature, so when she first called us and Yuki here, she was apologizing profusely.
...Well, this is a good opportunity. Let me casually bring it up.
"So, Kagura. What shall we do now? Are you going to guide us somewhere?"
"Ah, no. Especially for Lady Labyris..."
"Oh, no need for the 'Lady' title. It's strange for you to call Yuki by his name but use honorifics for me, don't you think? Unless we're in a public setting, it's fine."

She called my name as if she had steeled herself; she’s quite timid on the inside. She talks to Aslin and Firia normally, so do I really have that much of an intimidating presence?
"And, we can go wherever you three want. Ah, but we can't go into rooms where classes are in session."
"That goes without saying. Hmm. Then, before we decide where to go, could you tell us in detail about the origins of this academy?"
"Origins? You mean the history?"
"Yes. As Yuki said earlier, your ancestor built this academy, right?"
"That's true, but..."
"I think the tour will be more interesting if we hear that story first."
"Is that so?"
I see. Tourism hasn't developed here yet. Well, that makes sense. The only places that really promote sightseeing, scenic spots, and events are Weed and the Five Great Nations on the Rogari Continent. Even the Five Great Nations only recently started putting effort into it after finally understanding that Weed uses tourism to gather funds. It’s no wonder the New Continent lacks that awareness.
"A story, huh? It's not a particularly rare one, but is that okay?"
"I don't mind."
"I want to hear it!"

"If you three want to hear it, then fine. Let's sit on that bench over there."
And so, we sat on a bench in the courtyard and began to hear the history of the Haiden Magic Academy from Kagura.
