第615堀:ハイデン建国記簡易版 お約束で章 (Part2)

Perhaps there is a way to reconcile with the Demon Lord, and regardless of whether we end up fighting, gathering information is essential.

"Well, I can only tell you what I know..."

"That’s enough. Besides, I don't even know the common sense of this world yet."

I truly lack even the most basic knowledge of this world. Had I not been with Fable and the others, it wouldn't be hard to imagine me being isolated as an eccentric.

So, after hearing what Fable and his group had to say...

◆ Regarding the Demon Lord and the Demon Army

・They supposedly appeared suddenly from beyond the Mountains of Death, a range of sheer cliffs to the east.

・Since then, the eastern nations have been falling, and those lands have become the enemy's staging ground for invasion.

・Initially, people were skeptical, but once monsters began marching in formation to attack neighboring countries, it was concluded that a Demon Lord must be leading them. In other words, no one has actually seen the Demon Lord.

・As for the monsters in the Demon Army, they are incredibly diverse—some are beast-like, others humanoid, and there are even dragons. The fact that these creatures, which would normally fight over territory, are working together suggests the presence of a commander: the Demon Lord.

◆ Regarding the Situation of Various Nations

・Due to the Demon Army's offensive, conflicts between nations are calming down, but the western nations are still bickering, using the eastern nations as a shield.

・About half of the eastern nations have already fallen. Rosanta is on the front lines, and Findar, separated by the Nossa Plains, is treated as a semi-front line.

・The situation in Rosanta is unfavorable, and reinforcements from Findar have arrived to form a joint front.

・However, monster materials are rare and excellent for crafting, so many people join the war hoping to strike it rich. Since it is a war, many also join for the sake of honor. Naturally, those who lost their homes are also participating, aiming to reclaim their homelands.

・Faced with this crisis, the eastern nations have been cooperating without reservation, which is the only reason Rosanta has managed to maintain its defensive line. The sentiment is, "We’re next." One might ask why they didn't do this from the start, but since the enemy's strength wasn't clearly understood, it couldn't be helped. It takes a dire situation for a country to ask another for help. Furthermore, unlike on Earth, there is no such thing as communication technology here, so by the time you realize things are bad, it’s already too late. In a sense, this situation was inevitable.

◆ Regarding Myself and the 15-member Group Led by Fable

・They were planning to head to a nearby town and join as volunteer soldiers.

・Honestly, if we join as volunteer soldiers, the current group will likely be disbanded, and I can't afford to be separated from Fable and the others.

・If we join as a mercenary company instead of as individual volunteers, we would be treated as a single unit, and unlike volunteers, we would have the freedom to move across the battlefield. Therefore, I believe it is better to operate as a mercenary company.

・Actually, first and foremost, we need more information. Not just from Fable and Enor, but fresh information from the town.

When I voiced my thoughts, Fable and the others agreed.

"You're right. If we join as volunteers, there's a chance we'll be assigned to different units."

"Ugh, I don't want that. We've been getting along so well until now."

"I don't think I could work with anyone else at this point. In that case, let's follow Sota's advice and establish a mercenary company. To start with..."

We spoke to the villagers who were traveling with us to join the volunteer army, and we succeeded in recruiting them.

When I told them that joining as volunteers might lead to us being split up, they agreed immediately.

It seems they had assumed they would be able to participate alongside their friends and acquaintances.

...Oh boy. With this level of civilian knowledge, I can't help but feel anxious about whether we can actually handle a real battle.

Side: Yuki

The story about the Demon Lord initially sounded like a total cliché.

But for Sota-san himself, it must have been an incredibly troublesome ordeal.

"So, after various events, it turned into a quest to defeat the Demon Lord?"

"Yes. One thing led to another, and we ended up forming a mercenary company. We improved weapons and devised countless strategies to minimize casualties, and as a result, we started being entrusted with reckless missions in the war against the Demon Army."

Is that it? Every time you distinguish yourself, you get sent to an even more "honorable" battlefield?

What a classic downward spiral.

"In the end, was the Demon Lord actually there?"

"They were, but that’s where the real problem began..."

Well, if it ended with just defeating the Demon Lord, the trouble wouldn't have dragged on this long.

There’s no mention of dungeons yet, so as Sota-san says, the real struggle starts from here.

The classic "rags to riches" legend and heroic tale begins now.

Also, it seems some people are mistaken: the gods in Aulito are lower-tier gods, and they were overseen by a middle-tier god. There is only one middle-tier god.

Luna simply inherited the subordinates that the middle-tier god used as lower-tier gods; there is no story about Luna appointing them.

What Luna did appoint were the Dungeon Masters.

The story is that those lower-tier gods were divided between those who submitted to Luna and those who were part of the middle-tier god's faction and rebelled.

If you want to read the detailed content, please purchase the large-format "Shrine Son (Second Son) Goes to Another World" series (1,200 yen excluding tax). Just kidding.

Speaking of which, many large-format light novels have been released recently, and their average price is around 1,200 yen. It’s not an unusual price at all.

Well then, look forward to the next chapter.

Also, I'm currently playing Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon, transferring my Pokemon from Sun/Moon to train them up as usual.
