I only collect shiny Pokémon for display or as part of my collection.
The probability of a shiny Pokémon being battle-ready would require an unfathomable amount of time.
And so, forgetting about Comet, I was about to proceed with the trade when...

The idiot had just popped out of Ama-no-Iwato.
And the way she shoved her game screen at me was incredibly annoying.
"Oh, it's Yuki. Yo."
"Yo? That's not it. Hifie was worried you might be possessed by a ghost or something, so I came to check on you, and sure enough, you're still hunting for shinies."
"Possessed by a ghost? Bwahaha! No way. I'm a Lich, after all. Well, that's beside the point, but since we met here, let's have a match! It's the rule to battle when our eyes meet, right?"
I can't deal with this person. She's completely lost.
"...Comet. Do you understand why Hifie dispatched me?"
"Hm? It's because you're worried about me, right? But I'm fine now, so it's okay, isn't it?"
"That's not the end of it. To those who don't understand, you're still that strange person who turns the screen on and off."
"Even so, there's no way Hifie would understand that. You know she's quite technologically challenged, right?"
"You're not going to blow anything up, are you?"
"If I had such manga-like abilities, I would have disowned Hifie. Blowing up the children I raised with love? That would be infuriating!"

However, Comet had reached a point where she wouldn't understand unless told.

Games seem to be more detrimental to people than comfortable sofas.

Both are death sentences for anyone who loves games.

And so, Comet reluctantly agreed to play games within reasonable limits.
After that, we had some battles and trades before parting ways. However, just a few hours later, Comet stormed my house.
"Yuki! Somehow, I got a shiny in one go just now!! And the next one came within 100 tries!! Did you raise my real-life luck!?"
"...No. I didn't. Maybe the gods gave me luck because I reformed my gaming habits?"
"Nguuuh!? I want to believe it's my own luck, but there are so many elements around me that make it hard to believe!!"
"Well, for now, be happy. It happens to me sometimes too. Though, if it continues for about four more times, it would be suspicious. It's still probability, after all."
"I guess so... I'll observe for today."
It must be tough to doubt the luck element of games when a god is nearby.
As I watched Comet's retreating back, I remembered something.
"Ah, Comet. Speaking of which, we're planning a family tournament for New Year's. Will you participate?"
"Of course!! Alright!! Bring it on!!"
With that, Comet roared and left.
Later, Hifie came to me with another consultation, showing me a broken game. Even though I felt Comet was at fault, hearing that she was sobbing made me feel helpless.
Incidentally, the data and software were fine, but the reason for her tears was that the shiny Pokémon she encountered naturally while training had vanished due to Hifie's actions.
...Play games in moderation.
At the end of the year and the beginning of the new year, many people get time off, and game lovers will naturally spend time on games.
However, let's play games while following common sense rules.
In Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon, I'm also hunting for shinies like Comet (with a dead eye).
But, you know, it's exciting when you get a shiny. That's why I can keep going. (Obsessive thinking)

Lately, I haven't been putting much effort into battles (no time for training).
Well, not just Pokémon, but PUBG, Switch games, and Monster Hunter World coming out in January. Don't put too much effort into games.
Me? Of course, I'm going to get all the legendary Pokémon in shiny form.
