第712堀:そろそろいいかげんに…… (Part2)
"Well, besides, things aren't as chaotic here as they are on the If Continent or the New Continent. It’s not exactly moving at a leisurely pace, but we are making steady progress through repeated negotiations. It seems the countries are even resolving their own internal issues."
"Oh? You’re working hard, then."
"We’ve mostly cleared up the disputes on the Rogari Continent. That, at least, is a relief. It’s the result of the hard work put in by myself, Ria, and the others. When you consider that, it’s no wonder there’s friction on the If and New Continents, where we were late to get involved."
As Ria says, while the Rogari Continent is doing its best on its own, it’s also largely because we went around stamping out the problems.
"Ah, that’s true. It was quite a struggle for us, creating and adjusting the Weed."
"Exactly. The stability of the Rogari Continent is the result of everyone putting in their fair share of effort. Well, I wouldn't say it’s entirely free of the need for fine-tuning, but it’s certainly more settled than the If or New Continents."
We’ve been involved with the Rogari Continent the longest, after all. It would be too tragic if it weren't stable by now.
"So, that leaves the High Elf nation and the Beast God nation, then."
"That’s the gist of it. In a sense, those are the remaining issues on the Rogari Continent. To resolve the problems between those two nations properly, it’s better to settle the matter of the letter from Litea that I received from Tora. So, first of all, Jessica and Samantha, go explain the situation to Nonoa and Hifie and bring them to my office. The nature of this content is delicate, so explain it to them in person. It would be a disaster if I used a call and Lilishe happened to be on the other end."
"Understood."
"Understood."
With that, I entrust the goddesses to those two cautious individuals.
I take Ria and Cleena with me to contact Noble and Nogosh.
『What is it?』
『What’s this? You’re connecting with Noble, too? Did something happen?』
"Sorry to both of you. I have something I’d like to consult on. Do you have the time?"
『Hmm? As for me, daytime is tough. As you know, Yuki, thanks to the prolonged meetings on the If Continent, I’ve only just returned to my country to catch up on work.』
Ah, that’s right. The countries gathered for the If Continent summit were quite heated...
I suppose that means the domestic work is lagging behind.
Should I finally build a direct line from Betan?
But then again, that would require negotiations, so that’s a task for another day.
For now, they have no choice but to come to Betan via Zilba or Enaria.
『As for me, there are no particular issues. So, what is the business at hand?』
"It’s a bit difficult to say. First, come to my office in the Weed. Well, here’s a hint: it’s something Nogosh and Nonoa have been worried about for a while."
『...I see. I’ll head over immediately.』
『I don’t fully understand, but if it’s something that worries the gods on your side, it must be important. I will head over by nightfall.』
"I’m counting on you. Oh, and Noble, don’t push yourself too hard."
『Don’t worry about it. You wouldn't go out of your way to contact me otherwise. If I can owe you a favor, it’s good for my country’s interests.』
"I see. Just try not to collapse."
With that, I succeed in securing their cooperation.
"We already explained things via call, didn't we?"
"Yeah. I don't think Faide is anywhere near those two."
"Cleena is right. Well, the distance to Noble is too great, and I couldn't imagine Nogosh staying quiet once he heard about this, so I thought it was better to call them over quickly."
"Agreed."
While we were talking, the two who went to contact Nonoa and the others returned.
"That was fast."
"Yes. As expected, or perhaps I should say..."
"I’m glad we moved cautiously. When I asked where they were over the call, the four of them were enjoying tea together at a cafe."
"Ah, I know that place. The one you built, Yuki-san, right?"
"Yes, that’s the one. They were enjoying cake and tea while discussing Hylen’s education. According to the master, they’ve been there for about five hours."
"Five hours..."
Yikes. The power of women—or should I say, the power of the ladies—is incredible.
"But it doesn't seem like they’re causing any trouble. The master is actually grateful for the regulars. Still, I envy how goddesses can maintain their figures without effort."
"Mhm, mhm."
The women nodded deeply in unison.
However, I cannot touch upon that subject.
Weight is a landmine. I know that much.
"So, were you able to summon them?"
"Yes. They said they would show their faces tonight."
"I’m glad they were quick on the uptake. Hylen-san doesn't know anything."
"That’s for the best."
She’s far too noisy, after all.
I’ll ask Souta-san and Enor-san to ensure they are available tonight.
And so, I set to work finishing the remaining tasks to prepare for the trouble that would come with the night.
How would you deliver the letter?
How would you confess your feelings?
Can you take responsibility? Is it okay to be hurt?
But it’s something that has to be done eventually, isn't it?
That is the nature of this matter.
