第746堀:これがめがみぱわー (Part2)
As we were talking, a familiar voice suddenly drifted in.
"Hey, Hairen, did you really see her?"
"Leave it to me. I can definitely feel the Queen’s presence around here."
"Hairen? What do you mean 'feel'? Didn't you see her?"
"Hehe, I have the ability to detect magical energy, you know."
" " "Whoa..." " "
I peeked out the window to see Hairen—the one we call the "Idiot"—standing there.
"What is she doing now?"
I had just bundled her up and sent her packing, and this is what she does? She must have slipped away from Sota-san and Enoru-san.
As I thought that, Kagura and the others spoke up.
"Aren't those the kids who were refusing to go to school?"
"Yeah, that's them. There’s no mistake, that’s Micos-chan."
"But why is Hairen-sama with them?"
"Who knows? Why, I wonder?"
While Kagura and the others tilted their heads in confusion, Aslin and Firia looked convinced.
"Oh, I get it! They were playing at the church, so they must be friends."
"Indeed. As Aslin says, they are definitely friends."
Well, they’re on the same intellectual level, so being friends is certainly not a problem.
"I understand what Aslin means, but I don't get why they're together right now."
"If they wanted to play, there are better places, and 'I saw Seraria-sama' is a pretty weak excuse."
Still, as Labyris and Shera pointed out, I had no clue why they were together. Playing together is fine, but surely a park would be better than a place like this. They seemed to be chasing after Seraria, but their goal was completely beyond me. The ecosystem of a free spirit is far too mysterious.
As I watched Hairen...
"I keep my promises, you know. You guys seem to have made it to school safely."
"Yeah, I kept my promise to Hairen. The big sisters at the park were really nice, too."
"And it would be weird if we didn't go when the foreigners are working so hard."
"In your case, you were just running away because you couldn't keep up with your studies, weren't you?"
Hairen gave him a light flick on the forehead.
"I can't help it! If I don't get it, I don't get it."
"But you remembered it after studying with me, didn't you?"
"I just thought if Hairen could learn it, I could too."
"Hehe. I'm good at studying, and I'm good at teaching, too. Besides, you aren't actually scared of school anymore, right?"
"Yeah. The big sisters at the park were kind. Back in the village, the older kids would always take my food..."
"Ah, there are always people like that. But the school here in Weed is safe. Still, you never know what might happen, so if that ever happens, go ask those big sisters from the park for help. And Aslin and the others, too."
"You shouldn't call Aslin-sama by her name without an honorific!"
"It's fine. They aren't the type to get angry over something like that. We're friends, after all."
"Huh? By the way, why don't you go to school, Hairen?"
"I'm a sister, so I have work to do."
...It seems the children finally attending school was all thanks to Hairen. Everyone else seemed to realize it, too.
"Ah, I see. So that’s how she was easing the children's anxieties."
"Not bad."
"Yes, I’ve re-evaluated her."
"Hairen-oneechan is amazing!"
"Hairen-aneesama is doing great work."
"As expected, Hairen-sama really is a goddess."
"It's amazing how she makes friends so naturally."
"Yes, Hairen-sama is wonderful."
"Truly, the goddess we worship and respect."
The members in the cafe honestly thought Hairen was amazing. But my wives were misunderstanding something. I’m not saying that just because she’s a goddess, saving people is a given, but... what kind of goddess gains popularity for something like this?
I shuddered at Hairen’s true nature. I remembered Sota-san telling me that when she scattered food everywhere before, she ended up being supported by the refugees there. In other words... Hairen is an incredibly troublesome person who can turn the problems she causes into a net positive, effectively erasing her own misconduct. That’s why Sota-san and Enoru-san couldn't scold her too harshly or force her to do anything. You can scold her when she messes up, but later, something "good" happens that makes you forget all about it. Like right now, look...
"Sigh. If Hairen worked this hard, I can't just stay inside."
"That’s true. We should go out and greet them so we can have a proper conversation in the future."
And so, everyone went out in front of the children together...
"Whoa!! It's Seraria-sama and the others!!"
"Amazing. They're so beautiful..."
"Wow!! Hairen wasn't lying!!"
"See? I never lie."
...This is bad. Hairen is getting carried away again. In a sense, she might become a more difficult opponent for me than Luna. A person like that never considers anyone else's schedule. While everyone was smiling, I was seriously thinking about how I could do things secretly without getting Hairen involved in the future.
The strongest enemy for Yuki has appeared.
Well, she has the same traits as a certain trio, though.
And as for the comments, there are some very painful ones about having a boss just like Hairen...
Good luck.
That’s all I can say, so please forgive me.
Other than that, let's see... In November and December, there might be the 10th volume of the novel, the 2nd volume of the manga, and maybe a surprise?
Oh, and please spare me from a new series about a snowman. I won't have any time to play games.
Seriously, what is up with this shiny Celebi hunt? It’s been going on since last December. (Blank stare)
