The wives who hadn't appeared in the game yet all wore expressions of immediate dissatisfaction. This was all just a matter of luck, but to the wives, the order of appearance felt like a slight.

Negotiation failed. It was purely a matter of luck, and there was absolutely no value in assigning meaning to the order of appearance, but I understood why they wanted to believe in fate. Still, I didn't want this order to cause a rift between my wives.
