"…So, that’s how the rock-paper-scissors went, and you ended up coming here?"

"That is correct."

"Mm. I won."

"Yes, she did. In that case, Ria, we’re swapping places."

"Roger that! I’ve been wanting to see Sakura and the others, too."

"Indeed. I suppose it is time I went to see Yuyu."

"Then, if you’ll excuse me, I shall head off to inspect the inn and check on the children."

And just like that, our If Continent group had emerged victorious, leading to Ria, Deryu, and Kirue swapping out and heading back.

"So, Samantha. How is Yumi doing?"

"Yumi is being a very good girl."

"I see. That’s a relief."

Those of us who remained were asking about Weed, much like Milly had been. Naturally, I was doing the same...

"Cleena, is everyone at school doing well?"

"Is Narjia-san doing well?"

"Mm. Everyone at school is fine. Oh, though one child did trip in the schoolyard and scrape their leg. But it healed right away. Narjia-san is as energetic as ever, still eating ice cream like always. And it’s good to hear that Labyris and the others are doing well, too."

"Indeed. It is a relief to hear that you are doing well, too, Cleena. How are things on the If Continent?"

"The demands are endless, as always. It’s quite a nuisance. I’ll have to report it to Yuki later."

"Sounds like things are just as tough over there."

I chatted with Labyris and the others about our recent goings-on. Since we see each other every single day, it didn't feel particularly nostalgic, but seeing them here in a different land made me realize just how hard they were working.

"So, does that mean life on the ship is quite grueling?"

"Yes, that is the case. Lady Jessica, it is embarrassing to admit, but I was laid low by seasickness myself."

"Even you, Lord Ruth? I suppose ships are surprisingly difficult to endure."

Beside me, the earnest Jessica was asking about the voyage. I recalled hearing that Deryu had been through a rough time with seasickness.

Seasickness... the act of being sick from a ship. It was something I had never experienced.

"Say, Labyris. Is seasickness really that painful?"

"Hm? Where did that come from? Oh, from the report?"

"Yeah. Jessica is talking about it right next to us, and I heard that even Taiki, Ruth, and Deryu were taken out by it. Does that mean it’s really that intense?"

"Well, we didn't get seasick, so I imagine it depends on the person, don't you think?"

"The ship rocking with the waves was actually fun!"

"It was quite something. You really can't underestimate even a small wooden ship."

"I see, I see."

So, the sickness was caused by the ship’s motion. I seem to recall hearing it had something to do with a misunderstanding by the semicircular canals.

"…I kind of want to try being seasick."

"No, I said it depends on the person, but Deryu and the others were vomiting and couldn't even move, so I’d say it’s pretty high-level misery. Probably on par with a hangover."

"…Mm. I won't get seasick."

I remembered the day after I’d gotten carried away with alcohol; I thought I was going to die. The toilet had become my best friend.

"Right, let’s put the small talk aside for now and get to organizing the house we were provided."

"““Ooh!””"

And so, we began cleaning and organizing the house in Seasifo. Even so, furniture that would normally be heavy and difficult to move even an inch was handled with ease thanks to our strength, and within an hour, the house was ready.

"…Come to think of it, whereabouts in the royal capital of Seasifo is this house located?"

"Ah, now that you mention it, we hadn't asked."

"We came out from the warehouse in the basement, after all. We didn't see the ocean anywhere nearby, so I assume it’s a fair distance from the port?"

"Jessica is right. It seems the nobles don't build their homes along the coast due to the risk of tsunamis and the like; this is located in the area surrounded by walls in the center of town."

I see. So that’s how they mitigate the damage. It made me realize once again that those who live by the sea bear the risk of living near it. There really is a difference between knowing something and seeing or hearing about it firsthand. There are so many things you just can't learn from books alone.

"We have some time, so why don't we take a look around the town? We haven't had a chance to see it since we arrived."

Yes! I’m in luck. Just when I thought it would be nothing but meetings, a chance to explore the town had appeared. I felt a thrill of excitement as I headed out into the town of Seasifo.

With our base secured and our gateway established, Seasifo was now connected to the gate. One step closer to Yuki’s ambition.

And what would the town of Seasifo be like? Exploring a new town is always something to look forward to.

Well, in reality, we don't have much time for that, though.
