第874堀:覚悟を決めてもう一度 (Part2)

第874堀:覚悟を決めてもう一度 (Part2)

"...I feel like I'm sending him off to be a groom."

"Mm. It's like the feeling of having a son stolen by another woman."

"Now, you two, no more jokes like that. Come, Lord Yuki."

Pushed forward by Kaya and Cleena’s awkward remarks and Samantha’s guidance, I took another step.

"I suppose we're acting as the flower girls today?"

"Yes. The brides are waiting for you just ahead."

"This way, Big Brother!"

"It's this way, Brother!"

Led by Labyris, Shera, Aslin, and Firia, I was brought before...

"Now, Husband. We shall serve as the witnesses."

"Umu. An 'outdoor wedding,' as they call it."

"A ceremony held before the Queen herself. Quite extravagant, isn't it?"

With the heavy hitters among my wives—Rurua, the former Saintess; Deryu, the former Demon Lord; and Seraria, the former Princess and current Queen—standing there imposingly, there was no longer any way to escape.

Steeling my resolve, I walked toward Kagura and Mikos.

"Now, Lady Kagura. Please step forward."

"Lady Mikos, you should step forward as well."

Before I knew it, Kirue and Sasari were standing by their sides, acting as their attendants. Just how perfect are these maids of mine...?

Guided by the maids, Kagura and Mikos stood before me. Both of them seemed to have caught their breath and were looking much calmer now.

That said, they were still wearing their Magic Academy uniforms. I was in my work clothes, too. We certainly didn't look the part.

Well, that didn't matter. I needed to speak up before my wives got angry.

"Yo. Looks like you two searched all over for me."

"Ah, yeah. We went to the old school building and..."

"We really did look everywhere. We even went to the training beach."

Ah, so they even went to the haunted house they hate and the training beach. That explained why they were covered in dust and smelled of salt and sand. I could tell they had been desperately searching for me.

"Sorry. To be honest... I was just confused after being turned down."

As a man who had just been rejected on the spot, I simply didn't have the nerves of steel required to stay there.

"No. It's our fault for turning you down, so you don't need to apologize, Yuki. I'm sorry."

"Yuki-sensei... I'm truly sorry."

Both of them bowed their heads.

"We're doing nothing but apologizing to each other."

""...""

Even when I said that, their expressions remained conflicted.

I suppose I have to be the one to break the ice. I knew I couldn't run away anymore, but this really had turned into a public display of embarrassment. Dammit, if I don't commit to this now, the people watching are going to feel even more awkward than we do.

Alright, get it together. If I get rejected again here, then that’s it—it’s over for good! It’s a bit of a pessimistic way to think, but if I tell myself this is the end either way, I can do it! I can do this!

"Kagura, Mikos. Let's try this again."

"Huh?"

"Eh?"

The two of them couldn't keep up with my sudden shift in tone, but if I let them regain their composure, I’d just get embarrassed again. I had to press the attack all at once.

To prevent them from panicking and saying something weird or running away again—and to stop myself from fleeing—I pulled them both into a sudden hug.

"Hya?!"

"Funya?!"

They let out strange squeaks, but I didn't care anymore. From an outsider's perspective, I was just some creep in his thirties hugging high school girls. Wait, is my body still young? No, no, focus! Just say it!!

"Marry me."

""...""

Wait, why the silence? Crap, I suddenly want to let go and bolt like a rabbit. My heart is aching.

""...Yes.""

Ah, they answered? I didn't mishear that, right?

Holding them like this was getting painful in a different way, so I let go to look at their faces. For some reason, they were both streaming tears.

"Thank goodness... I'm so happy..."

"Yes. I'm so glad. I love you so much..."

They were crying?! Does this mean... I succeeded?

Unable to take the tension anymore, I glanced at my wives standing nearby.

"Honestly, hold them properly. You're so unreliable at the finish line."

"As usual. You have the mindset of a maiden, yet you always lack the final push."

"Well, that is just how our Husband is."

Yeah, yeah, my bad!!

Seriously, I couldn't stand being watched any longer.

"Alright, I'm annoyed now. Kagura, Mikos, we're making a break for it!"

"Eh? Wait, what?!"

"Yuki-sensei?! Where are we going?!"

And so, I successfully managed to escape from my wives, dragging Kagura and Mikos along with me.

...Though, I suppose I’ll have to be back by dinner.

**Author's Note:**

Yuki manages to overcome the rejection. Having your life played out like a romance drama really grinds down the spirit, doesn't it?

Regarding the comments asking why he doesn't use Teleport or Call: Teleportation and Calls aren't used recklessly within the borders of Weed.
