振り返り:落とし穴162堀~落とし穴165堀+α (Part2)

Grasping the situation is the priority; it cannot be helped.

I told myself this, then rummaged through the dresser and found some clothes.

"They fit surprisingly well. The owner of this room... well, at least we’re the same build."

Baggy is one thing, but if they were too small, I wouldn't even be able to put them on.

Just as I finished changing and thought about heading out, my eyes fell upon a computer.

I had been in Weed, yet somehow I ended up in a space equipped with a PC. The chances of gleaning some information from the internet were high.

Still, snooping through someone else’s computer is a breach of etiquette.

And yet, I needed information...

"Hm? There’s a note stuck to it."

As that thought crossed my mind, I noticed a memo attached to the PC’s casing.

Hoping for a hint, I read the note...

*“Yoo-hoo. Still doing that old-fashioned ‘put a treasure ship under your pillow’ thing? Well, it is for divining one’s fortune for the year. Be grateful; I’ve taken charge of your first dream of the year. For details, turn on the computer.”*

"Was this your doing!?"

I couldn't help but shout.

I knew deep down that the only acquaintance capable of creating such a bizarre space was that useless goddess, but my mind had been refusing to acknowledge it.

"Hah. Still, at least I know the cause of me being in a place like this, so I’m somewhat relieved."

I felt a momentary sense of ease. After all, the clothes I’d borrowed were provided by Luna; I hadn't stolen them.

Now, time to turn on the computer and gather some information.

The desktop of the powered-on PC was left at default settings, almost entirely empty, save for a single text file sitting in the center titled "First Dream Manual."

"Why a text file?"

I could sense a subtle lack of effort, but I decided to read the contents anyway.

*First Dream Manual*

*Yes, I’ve decided to give a small reward to a pious believer of mine who practiced such a fairy-tale, old-fashioned custom.*

*Well, I could just use my wonderful goddess power to boost your luck, but that would only result in boring things like getting consecutive shiny drops or winning the lottery every time.*

*So, I’ve specially arranged for you to relax and play in your first dream. The duration of this dream is thirty days. Once these thirty days are up, you’ll wake up.*

*For the sake of convenience, I’ve pulled the townscapes and character settings from a visual novel, so feel free to intervene in the original story or just leave it be.*

*As for that visual novel, I’ve installed the original game on the computer, so go ahead and give it a try.*

*See ya.*

*From Luna.*

"…Hmm, this is underwhelming. If she’s going to go through all this trouble, I wish she’d just use her goddess power to solve the problems in Aulorit. But then again, that wouldn't be a fundamental solution, which is exactly why I was sent here..."

If Luna were to intervene directly, the only way she could improve the environmental issue of Aulorit’s mana depletion would be to brute-force a refill.

That was why she sent me—someone capable of making delicate adjustments.

At the same time, I agreed that giving me excessive combat power wouldn't solve anything either.

But, enough of that serious talk for now.

It seems I won't wake up unless I spend thirty days here.

However, that only applies to my perception; time in reality is frozen, so when I finally wake up, it will still be the middle of the New Year.
