第1179堀:チーム15作戦会議 (Part2)

第1179堀:チーム15作戦会議 (Part2)

Everything hinges on what we acquire with those points and which matches we choose to commit them to.

"Besides, the points are a one-time use, aren't they? If we make it to the final round, we’ll want to pour everything into it, but using them early to ensure we actually reach that final round is a viable strategy, too."

"True. That said, I believe we need to confirm just how many weapons and tools can be scavenged on-site before we commit to bringing anything in. What do you think?"

"I agree. Everyone will likely be playing it safe during the first match. It might be tempting to use points to gear up and go for the win right out of the gate, but if we find that the items we brought are just lying around everywhere, it would be a complete waste."

"Exactly. That’s why we should experience the first match before deciding what equipment is truly necessary. Besides, looking at a map and actually moving through the terrain are two different things. Grasping the geography has to be our first priority."

"Sounds good. Should we spend the first round just running around? Given the size of the area, there’s bound to be some form of transport."

"Ah, now that you mention it, you’re right. They say our physical abilities are capped at the level of an average person, so we won't have enough time to cover that field on foot. If that’s the case, it’s safe to assume there are vehicles, just like in that game. Let's go with that for the first round."

Taiki-kun is right. Even if the final combat zone shrinks, the initial area is vast. It would be impossible to traverse it on foot as a normal human. Moreover, we don't have infinite stamina like in those games. That means securing a means of transport is our absolute top priority.

"So, should we split up for the first round—one of us gathering supplies while the other looks for a vehicle?"

"Hmm, I’m not so sure about that. I think it’s better to secure weapons and tools first, then search for a vehicle together. In our case, splitting up recklessly would be disastrous if one of us were eliminated. It’s better if we can both keep track of the situation."

"When you put it that way, you're right. So for the first match, we’ll stay together, stay alert, gather gear, find a vehicle, and map out the terrain. In that case, let’s intentionally drop at the edge of the map."

"Yes, that’s the best approach. Every team will be moving across the map, so if they want to play it safe, they’ll choose the central areas where travel is easy regardless of where the next zone appears."

That’s the risk inherent in the rules of this battle: dropping at the edge of the map is a gamble. If the next zone appears on the opposite side, the travel distance becomes astronomical. That is why it’s only logical that most people will congregate in the center, ensuring they can reach any future battlefield with minimal effort.

Going against the grain and heading for the edge is a bold move. It might actually allow us to experience this battle royale with a clearer head and gain valuable experience.

"If we’re not careful, we might be the first ones eliminated."

"But it’s worth the attempt. Should we aim for the coastline?"

This battle royale takes place on an island that isn't particularly large. A main island and a smaller islet are connected by a bridge, but if this is a faithful recreation of that game, there should be boats available as well.

"Ah, but will we be able to pilot a boat?"

"I’ve acquired the skill, so that shouldn't be a problem. What about you, Taiki-kun? Any experience with ships?"

"No, I’m embarrassed to say I don’t. I didn't even get my driver’s license until I came to Weed."

"Ah, that’s right—you came here when you were still a student. Hmm, we might be in a tight spot regarding transportation."

"Yeah. Now that you mention it, I realize I have no idea how to operate a boat. Well, I might be able to figure it out once I’m actually doing it."

"Practicing navigation on a battlefield... well, if we have that much breathing room, we’ll be fine. Regardless, let’s aim for areas with buildings near the edge."

"Understood. For now, let’s narrow down our candidates..."

And so, Taiki-kun and I found ourselves deep into the night, refining our strategy and preparing for tomorrow’s battle. I wonder how the others will play it? I’m particularly curious about what Hifi-san and her group will do. And Yuki-kun and Zargis-dono are the ones to watch—they are the most unpredictable of the lot.

Regardless, the first round must be dedicated to gathering information. If I’m going to do this, I’m going to win. I may be an adult, but as a boy at heart, I intend to give my all to this game. That’s just how it is.

Now, the teams are beginning to formulate their strategies. Taiki-kun and I intend to move with total freedom. Well then, how would you move in this situation?
