第1209堀:テンションが高いと意外と寝なくてもいける (Part1)
**Chapter 1209: High Tension Makes for Surprisingly Little Need for Sleep**
Side: Yuki
It was only after Kagura and the others returned to take their shifts that I was finally able to head over to where Ria and the others were staying.
By then, a day and a half had already passed. I had intended to rest my weary body, but instead, I had ended up pulling an all-nighter.
And to make matters worse...
"Yes, yes. Yuki-san, we need to take a proper bath. And make sure you change into clean clothes, too."
"Exactly. You’re going to meet the babies, so you must be perfectly tidy. Plus, since the children are coming along, you need to set a good example."
"…Father must show them how it’s done."
After being thoroughly lectured, I bathed and changed. Then, I was tasked with escorting Sakura and the other children.
But no matter how hard I tried to keep them in line, the moment we neared the hospital entrance, Sakura and the others...
"Ria-mama!!"
"Cleena-mama!!"
"Samantha-mother!!"
"Jessica-mama!!"
They took off running. I suppose the children had been just as worried as the rest of us.
Still...
"You children must not run in the hospital."
With that single, authoritative command from Eris, everyone froze in their tracks.
Oh, as expected of Eris, the quintessential "education mom"—her words were incredibly effective.
Yes, in a somewhat surprising turn of events, Eris is quite the strict mother, rivaling even Kirue in her discipline.
Yet, she isn't disliked or merely feared; she truly embodies the role of a mother.
"Alright, alright. I know you’re all worried, but as Eris said, we mustn't disturb the other patients. Let’s hold hands and walk nicely, shall we? Come now, Schans, let’s hold hands."
"Okay, Mama."
It was Ratz and Schans who broke the tense atmosphere.
Surprisingly, Schans is the quiet type and wouldn't dream of running off like that, even in a moment like this. It’s hard to believe she’s Ratz’s daughter.
Seeing that, Sakura and the others immediately reached for my hands.
"Alright. Let’s go."
"Okay!"
Even so, as we filed into the hospital entrance led by the children, the people waiting at the reception desk turned their gazes toward us. The moment they realized who we were, some of them immediately bolted for the exit.
They must have realized that Ria and the others had given birth.
Is Weed going to be in a state of festival-like chaos again?
"Come to think of it, how is the information control being handled?"
I had come straight here after getting ready, so I hadn't grasped the current situation in Weed.
But I remembered how the entire city had erupted in celebration during the births of Sakura and Yuri.
"Oh, Seraria officially notified all of Weed yesterday. We’ve instructed everyone to keep the festivities contained to the commercial district, so it should be fine."
"Yes. We’ve also contacted Poni to tighten security. Any rowdiness outside the commercial district will be dealt with, and we’ve increased patrols within the district itself."
"But the Super Ratz store was already swarmed with customers buying up massive amounts of alcohol and food."
"Thanks to that, we’ve had to rush to restock, which has been quite the ordeal. It seems every household intends to celebrate."
I see. The birth of Ria and the others' children is clearly a cause for great joy.
After all, these children are the bridges between our nation and the others.
Moreover, these are the first children connected to the If Continent, which makes the joy all the more profound.
"And what about the other nations?"
"Seraria has already sent notifications to every embassy in her name as Queen. The ambassadors have already contacted their respective homelands."
"I expect we’ll start seeing reactions soon. Though, I imagine Seraria-sama will handle those matters."
"Seraria really does have her hands full. Once I’ve had a good look at Samantha and the others and the children, I’ll go and help her."
Besides, I am Samantha’s husband. I can’t very well stay away.
"That would be for the best. Ah, we’ve arrived at the room."
Doctors and nurses were stationed in front of the room Ratz pointed out.
For a split second, I thought, *Isn't this a bit excessive?* But then I remembered that my wives are high-ranking figures in their respective nations and symbols of our exchange with Weed. It’s only natural to assign specialized medical staff.
As I was thinking this, one of the nurses noticed us. She ducked into the room, and Rurua stepped out.
"Welcome, Husband-sama. And Sakura-chan, it’s good to see you all."
No sooner had she spoken than the children swarmed her.
"Hey, are Ria-mama and the others okay?"
"Mama, how is Samantha-mother? And the babies?"
"Don't worry, everyone is fine. Mother and child are both healthy. Now, everyone, let’s sanitize our hands properly before we go in."
Rurua answered while aiming the disinfectant pump at the children's hands.
As the director managing this hospital, she truly leaves nothing to chance.
Once everyone had quietly finished sanitizing and entered the room, it seemed Ria and the others were all gathered there with their newborns.
"Oh, Yuki-san. Everyone."
"My, Yuki-sama. You look exhausted, don't you?"
"…Are you properly clean? I’m worried about the babies."
"Cleena is right. We’re happy you came to show your face, but you must be mindful of hygiene."
While Ria and Samantha welcomed me warmly, Cleena and Jessica, as expected, glared at me as if to say, *Make sure you’re clean.*
Well, since children from outside were coming in, they would naturally be concerned. After all, being covered in mud is practically a child's job description.
However, Rurua stepped in with a smile.
"It’s quite alright. I sanitized them thoroughly before they entered."
"Haha, thank you, Rurua. Look, it’s Father."
Ria said this as she immediately showed us the small child she was cradling in her arms.
"Wow, she’s so tiny! Ria-mama, is this a girl?"
"Yes, that’s right, Sakura-chan. She’s a girl."
I realized I hadn't asked about the genders of the children yet, so I looked toward Rurua.
"They are all girls. I suppose the boys will be for your future efforts."
"Ah, I see."
I felt a slight pang of *I guess I have to work hard on that front, too*, but more than that, my focus was on Ria and the children.
"Ria, you worked hard. Thank you."
"No... actually, yes. I did. Both this child and I worked very hard."
Ria looked incredibly happy as she said that.
Yes, it’s only natural to be happy when a child is born.
"Now, don't mind me. Go see Samantha and the others as well."
"Understood."
With that, I turned toward Samantha.
