"It won't be everyone. Mauve will stay with the adventurers and the school, and Curse will remain at Aurelia Port. I’m thinking of bringing Raiya in for support."
"I see, Raiya-san? He certainly seems like he could handle the role," one of them replied.
"He’s quite efficient, after all."
The two of them nodded, satisfied with my proposal.
Raiya was a man of integrity, the only one who could truly keep Mauve in check. Curse was the same in that regard, but he leaned more toward being a statesman and a magic researcher. Besides, Curse was busy managing Aurelia Port; I couldn't just pull him away. Mauve, being the leader of the trio, had his hands full with the Adventurer Guild and his duties at the school.
That left Raiya as the optimal choice. As I mentioned, he was a man of character and handled everything flawlessly. You’d have to be, to keep someone like Mauve under control.
"Then I’ll go ask Raiya. Are we good with that?"
"Yes. Your explanation makes perfect sense."
"No objections here. Raiya-san should get along well with Professor Hortland, and it’ll be easy for us to communicate with him too."
"Alright. I’ll go talk to him now. In the meantime, could you two come up with some specific tasks you'd like him to handle?"
"Understood."
With their cheerful affirmation, we stepped out of the school.
"Let’s see... is Raiya at the Adventurer Guild right now?"
"No~. It seems Raiya-san is over at the school buildings currently~," Hovis answered.
"Are you the one handling the guild coordination, Hovis?"
"Yes~. I’ve taken over the communications between the Adventurer Guild and the school~. Setting the school aside, Orelia is a bit too stiff for the guild~, and Yayui is so youthful that she might get overwhelmed~."
"Ah, I see."
I looked over at Orelia and Yayui, nodding at Hovis’s assessment. Orelia wasn't so much 'stiff' as she was incredibly serious, which might clash with the rowdy, easygoing nature of most adventurers. As for Yayui, she had such a 'small animal' aura about her that I could easily see her bursting into tears if someone barked at her.
Thinking about it now, Dressa, Vilia, and Hiiro—who went to work at the guild without a second thought—were actually quite impressive. Of course, adventurers would usually go easy on an obvious child, but Yayui was an adult. That probably made the social dynamic more difficult.
As these thoughts crossed my mind, the two of them bowed their heads.
"I apologize for neglecting the areas where I lack competence."
"I-I’m sorry..."
"Hey, don't worry about it. If Hovis couldn't move, you'd step up then, wouldn't you?"
They both nodded at my question.
"Then there’s no problem. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses—myself included. As long as you can act when it’s necessary, that’s what matters. Though, I suppose a little bit of communication now and then would make things run smoother."
Besides, these two were already acquainted with Rock and the others, so it wasn't like they were total strangers. They were just overthinking it.
"Alright, let’s get moving."
I doubted Raiya would refuse, but I’d still need to notify Mauve and the others. Should I do that before or after? Actually, I should probably consult Raiya on that first.
As I was pondering the logistics...
"Yuki-sama. When you say Raiya-san, do you mean the Guardian Hero?"
"Yeah. Oh, wait—Fiora, have you two not met?"
"Not directly."
"Right, sorry. I’ve kept you so busy I haven't had the chance to introduce you."
"It is no trouble. It was simply a matter of timing. If you are meeting him today, I would appreciate an introduction."
"True. That’s important."
If I introduced her as my wife, Raiya would probably just give me a look of pity and tell me I have my hands full. I was suppressed a wry smile at the thought when...
"Yes. I would very much like to spar with him. Lord Bicks mentioned he would make an excellent training partner."
"So *that's* why you want to meet him."
Good grief, Fiora was something else. Ever since the last battle, her hunger for improving her skills had become insatiable.
