第1338堀:休日の過ごし方 (Part1)
Chapter 1338: How to Spend a Holiday
Side: Yuki
The first day of the holiday.
It’s been a while since we’ve had consecutive days off, but it’s only three days.
That’s far too little time to go anywhere far.
So, the general rule is for everyone to spend their time as they please within Weed.
By the way, Kagura and the others, who requested to return to their homeland, departed through the gate early this morning.
Things are peaceful for now, and as for what my wives are doing, I’ve made sure to check their schedules.
After all, you never know what might be moving in the shadows.
So, I check the itinerary.
Seraria, Deryu, Jessica, Stasia, Fior, Quar, and Sasari are doing match-style training.
Yeah, I know—hardly a "holiday"—but for this group, this is apparently how they relax.
Well, they spend most of their time doing paperwork, after all.
Still, it’s terrifying that more than half of them are former princesses.
I don’t get it. I’ll just chalk it up to women being mysterious.
Though, they did say they’d only do it for the morning of the first day and then head to the super public bath to lounge around afterward.
Next group: Tori, Riel, Kaya, Agil, Kirue, Comet, some of the Holy Sword Users, Hilen, Lushi, and my children.
This group is heading out together to the shopping district in Weed.
I thought about tagging along, but I was told that was a no-go.
They said a father shouldn’t be glued to his kids forever.
When I protested that I didn’t feel like I spent that much time with them...
"That is not for you to say, Master, when you spend every moment you can—from the evening after work until dinner, and from morning until afternoon on your days off—with the children," Kirue shut me down instantly.
No, I really thought I was taking breaks when I could.
I tried to argue that I’d been hanging out with Taiki and Taizo-san, but it was no use.
"Yuki-san. We want time to play with the children, too. Please be satisfied with that."
"That’s right! It shouldn’t just be Father; we mothers want to play with them too."
"...Yes. Play with the children to our hearts' content. That is our plan."
"Haha, exactly! I didn’t give birth to them, but the kids are adorable, so leave it to me!"
"Well, I’ve been looking after the children, too. It’ll be fine. Kishua and the others are there, after all."
"Wait, I heard about giving the kids stuffed animals, but babysitting on the side? Nina, did you hear about this?"
"It doesn't matter, does it?"
"Exactly! It’s best to just go out and have a blast with everyone! We’ve got the money you gave us, Yuki!"
"U-uh, is that really okay?"
I’m a bit worried about Lushi at the end there, but well, that’s just how it is.
They’ll probably keep her so busy she won’t even have time to worry about such things.
That’s what you’d call "becoming the light," I suppose.
Yeah, Hilen is truly terrifying.
Next.
Rurua, Milly, Eris, Ratz, Ria, Schans, and Menou are relaxing at the house’s tavern—no, the ramen shop—drinking and unwinding.
Milly aside, it’s rare for the others to be drinking together like this.
And in the middle of the day, no less.
Well, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with having times like this.
Kagura, Mikos, Enora, Souta-san, and Enor-san are... on a homecoming, I suppose? Well, since that’s what they call it, that’s what it is.
The Haiden members, excluding Enora, are heading to the Duchy.
Only Enora is going to the Haile Church.
It’s effectively a report.
Well, the Haiden region has gone through a lot since the reconstruction, so they probably want to keep those ties tight.
By the way, the Rogali, If Continent, and Zrable regions are being monitored just like the Haiden region, but they aren’t panicking.
They don’t seem to see a short holiday as a problem.
Above all, exchanging information via the gate is easy.
Cleena, Samantha, Nilua, Wazfi, and Hivia are heading to the Lancer Magic Academy.
It seems they’re returning to the academy with Vice Principal Lara to report on magic.
Well, the If Continent is lagging behind in magical technology, perhaps due to the mana depletion phenomenon.
Maybe they’re discussing that?
And finally...
Aslin, Firia, Labyris, Shera, Vilia, Hiiro, and Dressa are heading to the leisure facilities.
Specifically, they plan to hit the mountains, the sea, and various other spots.
It’s only a three-day break, but since we have those facilities inside the dungeon, it’s possible to visit many places in a single day.
Usually, one facility a day is the limit, but I suppose that’s the power of children for you.
"Well, it’s good to see everyone enjoying their holiday."
I’m not exactly relaxing alone in my room, though.
"Yuki-sama, would you like a refill on your tea?"
"TV is so interesting!"
"U-uh, I want to ride that vehicle."
Since my wives aren't acting as my personal guards, Orelia, Hovis, and Yayui are here.
And...
"Ahhh..."
For some reason, Prof is by my side.
I mean, it is a deployment to protect me, but I can’t help but think I’d be fine alone at home. Still, to my wives, that’s not an option.
Normally, I’d call Taiki or Taizo-san, but since it’s a short three-day period, everyone decided to just relax in their own way.
It’s not like my "holiday" is defined by playing with me.
By the way, Zargis said he’d be healing himself at the super public bath.
Well, that aside...
"No, Orelia, I’m fine on tea, thank you."
I declined Orelia’s offer...
"Hovis, if you like the TV, that’s great. I’m thinking of starting a broadcasting station with Mikos, so you should join in."
I tell Hovis, who is watching the screen with sparkling eyes, about the future plans.
Mikos is currently a magazine editor, but since she has the trait of being an information disseminator, she’s been saying she wants to try making television, too.
While Weed is monopolizing video-related technology, the production of the video recordings themselves is a joint effort between the If Continent’s Roady, Samantha’s family home, and the academy, so we can do whatever we want with that.
Well, even if we have the tools, it’s meaningless if we don’t have the skill to finish the product.
Or perhaps I should say the bar is set too high.
What Mikos and Hovis are looking at is modern broadcasting.
Editing technology has advanced so far that it’s worlds apart from what an amateur can produce.
Even just with a camera, you need the skill to track the subject; it’s not something you can do overnight.
It’s at the level of a video-sharing site, at best.
I think that’s fine, but even for that, the only ones among us who can comfortably use PC editing software are Eris, Ratz, Agil, Mikos, Comet, Taiki, Taizo-san, and myself.
