第1385堀:敵軍攻略作戦会議 (Part1)

**Chapter 1385: Enemy Force Strategy Meeting**

**Side: Cleena**

At long last, someone has finally decided to pick a fight with Weed—or rather, the Intercontinental Exchange Alliance.

For the sake of our children, we must crush them completely.

As I was thinking this, a voice cut through my thoughts.

"Cleena-san. We are the defensive line, remember? You haven't forgotten that, have you?"

"Nn. It’s fine. I’ll crush them with defensive magic."

"That is not the point. You are meant to use it for protection. Besides, we are in the middle of a strategy meeting."

At that prompt, I looked around to see Stasia and the others gathered.

If I recall correctly, Stasia is the commander in charge of defense, isn't she?

Well, when the numbers grow this large, it becomes necessary to divide the command structure.

"Now that everyone is here, let’s begin. There is nothing particularly difficult about this. Our top priority is, fundamentally, to protect ourselves. Cleena, Samantha, please deploy your defensive magic at fifteen and twenty-meter radii. As always, we will use multi-layered barrier structures. If you divide the casters and deploy them in two layers, almost nothing will be able to slip through."

Nn. Our defensive magic is hyper-potent.

After all, it was crafted specifically to withstand a fight against Yuki.

"Oh, and of course, please ensure you are capable of launching counter-attacks from within. Our main offensive method will also be magic-based. It is unlikely we will see much in the way of close-quarters combat."

"So, that means Difes and I are just the insurance policy?"

"Insurance is fine. If we assume the enemy will break through, we won't be able to hold the line at all. Besides, you and Enora are the only ones handling physical defense."

"That is exactly right. Enora, you may be dissatisfied, but please bear with it."

"It's fine. I won't lose my edge over something like this. So, what is our positioning?"

"While you two handle the physical defense, keep a close watch on the enemy's movements. Report back to me or Agil immediately if you see anything."

"Ah, I see. We’re the scouts, then."

"But wouldn't familiars or drones be sufficient for that?"

"If they were perfect, that would be ideal, but they cannot read the enemy's expressions or gauge their intent to attack from the sky. Please keep a sharp eye on those details."

Nn. That is true.

You can't tell what an enemy is thinking just by looking at them.

Weed isn't so heartless that we would attack those who have already lost the will to fight.

After all, if they surrender, we can't collect reparations.

"Oh, and of course, if you two can manage to deploy multi-layered barriers as well, please do so. It’s the best way to detect attacks that might have slipped through the outer perimeter."

"Understood. We’ll deploy ours at thirteen meters."

"Right, let's do that."

Yes, while we are called the "physical defense" team, it’s not as if we are incapable of using magic.

Everyone here has trained hard enough to handle that much.

In fact, every one of us is versatile enough to handle everything from healing to offense.

I honestly think Riel’s power is incredible for that reason.

"And finally, Lilishe-sama and Claudia, please remain in the center of our formation to provide healing and support."

"Leave it to me~"

"Yes, I shall do my best."

Lilishe-sama and Claudia are with the defense team.

There is no way they would be on the offensive team.

Though, if we’re talking about healing alone, I’d say Lilishe-sama is more than enough on her own.

After all, she is a goddess, and she is the very person who granted us our healing magic skills.

According to her own stories, during wars in the past, she used to perform the "demonic" feat of instantly healing soldiers just to send them back into the fray.

It was rational, but Yuki once said that it lacked a human heart.

"Lastly, Mikos. You have the vital task of recording this battlefield. Therefore, you will be in the center with Lilishe-sama and Claudia. Is that understood?"

"Yes! Mikos-chan will record every single detail without fail!"

"Good."

Mikos will likely be taking the most important records for the future of Weed.

Just the other day, she was saying how scary war was, but once her mindset shifted, she returned to her usual self.

Yes, that’s just like Mikos.

"Now that our policy is decided, I will go report to Agil."

With that, Stasia left the area; she likely has a meeting with Agil, who is the commander-in-chief.

In the meantime, we continued our own conversation.

"Well then, a war... though to call it that, the power gap is a bit too wide, isn't it?"

"Nn. Still, we must not be careless. If we get even a single scratch, Yuki will be terribly worried. Actually, he’s worried even now."

Yuki basically hates the idea of us fighting.

He is the type who prefers to avoid conflict entirely.

Well, that doesn't mean we slack off on our training, though.

But this time, we have no choice.

The other side rejected our attempts at negotiation.

And there is also the fact that the Eastern Town has been occupied without any justification.

We must use force to make them vacate immediately.

"That's true~. Yuki is a great husband, but he is overprotective in that regard. Even though I, like Deryu, fight with my fists and am never without a fresh bruise."

"That's because that's training, right? In a battlefield like this, we coat our bodies in magical barriers, so we won't get physically hurt. Or rather, should you wear gauntlets? Or carry a shield?"

"Ah, I really do prefer fighting bare-handed."

Enora rejected Difes’s suggestion with a wave of her hand.

Like Deryu, Enora is a martial artist who excels at fighting with her fists and feet.

She can use maces and the like, but lately, she’s been sparring with Deryu so often that she probably prioritizes that style.

Still, I couldn't help but worry about her fighting bare-handed and barefoot.

"It’s fine. I’m not just wearing gloves and boots; my entire outfit is a custom piece from Narjia-san, so it has higher performance than standard armor."

"Ah, I see."

That makes sense.

We usually wear Narjia-san’s custom armor or cloaks over our favorite clothes to boost our defense, but for Enora, her clothes *are* the armor.

However, you can't really ask for overly specific designs, so they tend to be a bit monotonous.

More than anything, when you leave the design to Narjia-san, she doesn't compromise.

That’s just the kind of person she is.

So, I can imagine that the clothes Enora is wearing were obtained only after a great deal of struggle.

"Um, Enora-san, didn't you have a lot of trouble getting that outfit made?"

When Samantha asked that question timidly, Enora’s expression immediately darkened...

"...Yes. She kept suggesting strange things, like adding a self-destruct mechanism, or making it emit light, or turning my hair blonde, or making it an orange martial arts uniform with some kind of 'Kanji' hieroglyph on it."

"..."

Samantha and I could only nod in understanding.

She must have been influenced by that manga.

Actually, that’s probably exactly why she didn't hesitate to make Enora’s clothing-type armor.

Honestly, I almost think it would have been better to send Enora out as a vanguard with Deryu.

Her equipment is just that high-performance.

Plus, it has a self-destruct mechanism.

Not as a joke, but as a feature to prevent the leakage of technology.

"Well, I managed to get her to make it look like a bishop's robe from the Haire religion, but it was a real ordeal."

That goes without saying.

She loves creating unique things and basically hates imitating existing designs.
