Struck by that realization, I finally understood.
It is true that these support-type units do not consume magical energy at the same voracious rate as high-output weaponry. However, unlike standard perpetual-motion magical tools, their consumption rate is high enough that it inevitably places a limit on their duration.
That said, since Brother and the others are the ones wearing them, they replenish their supply long before the internal storage runs dry, effectively rendering them perpetual.
In the event of an overload, the system simply shuts down, making physical damage virtually impossible. The only way to neutralize them would be to destroy the bracelets through a direct, overwhelming strike.
Of course, because they do shut down under overload, a strike with power exceeding the device's defensive and restorative capabilities would drain the magical energy and render the bracelet inert. But theoretically... no, based on the data from our recent field tests, we have confirmed they can even withstand a direct hit from a tank cannon.
Incidentally, when three tank cannon shells struck simultaneously, the system overloaded and shut down. The bracelet itself remained intact, but it certainly wouldn't have survived anything beyond that.
"With this, if we combine the magical energy storage with the absorption, don't you think it would be a fine tool for even an ordinary person to use?"
"I think so, too. This way, it can be used by people other than Brother and the others, and if we distribute them, it could serve as a temporary defense."
"Exactly. It means we can use them for the protection of people other than Yuki-san and his group. Well, it’s similar to the rings used for VIP protection, but the number of enchantments is different, and the output is on another level."
"Those only handle poison prevention, translation, and emergency barriers and healing. Most importantly, they are powered by the wearer's own magical energy."
We cannot afford for the kings of the great nations allied with Brother and the others to die easily, so we have provided such items to them, including their trusted inner circles. We have, of course, given them to Eupia-chan and Sho-oneechan as well.
The fact that they are powered by an external supply also carries the implication that we want them to remain conscious of potential dangers. Naturally, there is an alarm for when the magical energy runs low, so we have never heard of anyone forgetting and letting it hit zero.
"Yes. Considering that, this time, we can ensure a consistent level of performance regardless of who wears it. Don't you think it could be used for the protection of VIPs secured on the other side?"
"I see. That is certainly true. But I don't want them being sold off at whim, so should we stick to the usual approval-based system?"
"That goes without saying. It’s still in the prototype stage, and while I don't think this technology can be easily mimicked, I have no intention of letting them analyze that we possess such capabilities. We should include a self-destruct mechanism as well."
Nodding in agreement, they left the enchantment process to the experts, and Firia reached out to contact Brother.
The items being presented this time are tools. If the recipients don't understand how to use them, they are meaningless, and since there are uses beyond those intended for the sisters, we have to explain them properly.
Once the explanation was finished:
"Oh, that’s incredible. How many are you planning to make?"
"Umm, for the ones we’re distributing to the sisters, I’m planning to put a bit of effort into the decoration, but for the general distribution, I think simple is fine."
"That’s true. The distributed ones are for temporary use, so there’s no need to worry about that too much. Can you make a lot of those?"
"Hmm, considering the departure date, twenty is the limit."
"No, that’s more than enough. It will ensure the safety of the visiting investigation team. Well done."

Having been praised by Brother, Firia felt a swell of happiness.
Now, all that remains is to pray that the Dark Guild and the Dungeon Masters are found. Ensuring the safety of key figures is the most difficult part of these negotiations. By resolving that, Firia and Narjia-san are proving their worth.
Even so, it seems they just can't give up on that one-shot, high-output power.
