"Fair point. It’s ideal for everyone to be able to purchase something that fits their wallet. If we put out a solid gold sculpture, it wouldn't just fail to sell—it would cost a fortune in security fees alone."
Yeah, I don't think I’d want that either.
I mean, some people might like it, but...
I’d prefer something edible, honestly. As I was thinking that, the conversation shifted.
"That might actually be a good idea. Up until now, we’ve been focusing on things related to the sea, like coral and pearls. But instead of something outlandish like a solid gold statue, accessories like that could really work."
"Ah, small accessories would be doable. They’re reasonably priced, and we might even be able to establish a dedicated brand. A 'Seaside Brand,' perhaps?"
"That sounds fun! It doesn't have to be gold shaped like seashells—glass necklaces would be lovely, too!"
I chimed in, offering my own suggestion.
"That’s great. As Aslin-chan said, varying the materials while keeping the motifs sea-themed makes it easy to adjust the price points. It’s a solid strategy."
"Well, it’s fine to have ideas, but do you have enough stock currently to ship to the government offices and the resort area? They’re going to want specifics."
"The requested quantities and the lead time were completely undecided, so, well, I’ll just report that for now."
"You haven't even had those discussions yet? Usually, you show them the merchandise and then move to mass production, you know."
"If we waited for their permission, production would never start. Right now, it’s being funded by the private assets of Mikos-chan, Kagura, Narjia-san, and Firia-chan. It’s a passion project, after all."

As I was thinking that, my brother let out a long, weary sigh.
"I understand what you’re saying, but budgets are finite. You realize there’s a set limit on the funds available for merchandise, right?"
"That’s why I think precious metals and high-end items should be sold in private shops. If they show promise and turn a profit, then we can consider making them a town-run project."
"I can see Sis-a and Sona giving us bitter smiles over this..."
"Ratz-san, on the other hand, would probably laugh her head off."
Yeah, Ratz-onee-chan would probably be thrilled to invest.
Though, that would create a separate source of revenue, and there’s a risk that the power balance in town might tilt away from Sis-a and Sona and toward Mikos-chan and her group, who are selling the goods.
Maintaining that balance sounds tricky.
"Sigh. I’ll pass the message along for now, but make sure you have your documents in order and hold a proper meeting. Having my wives and subordinates at each other's throats gives me a stomachache. On paper, this is my town, and if you aren't careful, people might start thinking you're at odds with me."
"Ahaha~. We’d never be at odds with Yuki-sensei! We’re nothing but lovey-dovey~. But I understand what you mean, so I’ll be careful—or rather, I’ll just talk to them about it normally."
"That’s for the best. I’ll mention it to them on my end, too."
Yep, yep. Fighting among family is a no-go.
"Alright, enough about the merchandise. Next up: Aslin."
"Oh, that’s right."
"Yeah. What is it, Brother?"
"I heard from Dressa about the defense of the port town. We’re considering increasing the headcount, but since you’re the one doing the training, Aslin, there’s concern about the workload. People are worried that if we push you too hard, the quality of the training will drop."
"Well, even I can’t teach them to handle the work overnight. It takes time. Mikos-onee-chan and I talked about using the sea monster unit for town publicity, but we just don't have the numbers right now."
I said it clearly.
If I can’t do something, I say I can’t.
Brother wouldn't get angry over something like this; he’d just look into the reasons and find a solution.

"Well, Mikos-chan’s goal is to bring people to the port town and revitalize it, which includes things like pamphlets and brochures. So, of course, we’d consult with each other beforehand. It seems pretty difficult, though~."

When it comes to souvenirs, the first thing that comes to mind is a mascot doll, right?
Or is it food?
Still, if you want something with impact, a mascot seems like the way to go.
