### Chapter 1646: Voyages and Fisherman Experiences
**Side: Hovis**
"Um, testing... this is Cruise 1, currently on a test run. Captain Dressa, do you copy?"
I read the script Yuki-sama handed me and attempt to make contact via the radio.
*“This is Captain Dressa of the aircraft carrier Luna. I hear you, Cruise 1.”*
"Oh, thank goodness. We are departing for our test voyage now."
*“Understood. Have a safe voyage.”*
With that, the connection cuts off. A moment later, a text confirmation arrives via the call system as well.
"Yuki-sama, I’ve successfully established contact with Dressa-sama."
"Good. That should ensure the military recognizes us as well. That said, Yayui, don't stray outside the range displayed on the map."
"Understood."
Yuki-sama gives the order to Yayui, who is at the helm. I turn my gaze toward one of the monitors. It’s the same map Yayui is using at the steering console, but it’s projected onto a large, separate screen so that everyone on the bridge can check our current position.
"Still, it’s nothing but the horizon now. The land is far behind us."
As Orelia says, the bridge is situated high up, offering a panoramic view, but it really is just an endless expanse of sea. Looking back, I can only faintly make out the land—the Rogari Continent where we were just a while ago. We’ve come quite a distance.
"Yuki-sama, just how far does Dressa-sama’s secured territorial water extend, anyway?"
"Indeed. As Hovis says, it feels like we’ve traveled quite a way, hasn't it?"
"Ah, in total, we’ve secured quite a bit. I discussed it with Dressa, but the confirmed range is on the map... Yayui, can you display it?"
"Yes."
Yayui, looking quite accustomed to the interface, operates the call screen to display the territorial waters—the area that has been converted into a dungeon. I’ve become able to use computers and tablets myself, but this is still impressive.
As the map appears on the screen...
"..."
Everyone except Yuki-sama tilts their heads in confusion. Nothing is being displayed.
"Ah, zoom in... no, wait, zoom out. Show a wider range."
"Yes. Um, still nothing? Further?"
The territorial waters still aren't appearing on the monitor. Just how vast is this? As I’m wondering that, the lines finally appear once the map is zoomed out enough to clearly show not just our position and the port, but the entire coastline.
"Um, Yuki-sama. Just how far is this? I recall it being mentioned as one or two kilometers initially?"
As Orelia points out, that was indeed the original plan. But this is clearly far beyond a mere one or two kilometers.
"Ah, after some discussion, we decided the territorial waters would extend to a radius of twenty kilometers from the port."
"Twenty kilometers!?"
Everyone is shocked by the sheer scale of the area.
"It might seem large, but in reality, it’s not that much. Yayui, display the interception lines next."
"Yes."
With that response, a green zone appears within the territorial waters.
"This is the fifteen-kilometer range. From there, the interception priority changes at twelve and ten kilometers. The reason for this range is the Leviathan—the sea monster. Since a Sea Dragon can reach two hundred meters in length, we concluded that an interception range of one or two kilometers wouldn't give us enough time to react."
I see. With a monster of that size, it would reach the coast in the blink of an eye.
"So, we decided to expand the detection range to allow for proper interception preparations and evacuations. Honestly, we aren't building a dungeon underground and filling it with traps, so it doesn't cost that much to simply designate it as territorial water."
"That makes perfect sense. And regarding what we discussed earlier—which areas are for fishing and which are for monster capture?"
When Prof-san asks, Yayui displays the next set of zones on the monitor without waiting for Yuki-sama’s instruction.
"The fishing zone is seven kilometers, and the monster capture zone is everything beyond the interception line. Of course, within the territorial waters, we can track enemy positions and even deploy reinforcements if things get dire. Well, once they leave the territorial waters, that’s impossible. That’s up to the adventurers’ own judgment."
"Yuki-sama, I understand the territorial waters, but will this interception actually work? We are currently short on personnel, aren't we?"
Remembering Fiora-sama’s situation, I recall that the military’s defenses are stretched thin. If we expand the area this much all at once, won't we be unable to keep up?
"Ah, as Fiora says, we are short on people, but that isn't much of a problem. We’ll need to hold back to some extent once the adventurers start heading out, but do you know what 'monster repelling' is?"
"Ah!"
At that, everyone, including the port staff, lets out a cry of realization.
"Even ordinary adventurers know about it. Monster repellent. We’re just applying that to the sea. Specifically, we’re having the Sea Dragons stay put to act as a deterrent."
"What about the Blue Hole?"
"That area is basically already inside Hiren’s barrier. It’s also spent time relaxing in the sea within Weed, so that’s not an issue. Of course, we’ve developed tools to serve as substitutes. Yayui, do you see the 'Monster Repellent' command?"
"Here it is."
As Yayui responds, the monitor fills with numerous dots. They are more densely packed the closer they get to the interception line.
"We’ve placed the repellents at those points—some on buoys, some underwater, and some on the seabed. The ocean has surprising variations in depth. According to Dressa’s report, the maximum depth within the twenty-kilometer zone is three hundred meters."
"That sounds quite troublesome. Are you covering all of that?"
"No, that’s the maximum depth, so it’s not all like that, but there are places near a hundred meters deep, so it’s definitely a lot of work."
I see. Unlike on land, this is underwater, and there are no restrictions on movement—up, down, or otherwise.
"Still, since we only need to subdue those who manage to slip past these repellents, the situation is better than we initially expected, so we don't need to increase our numbers too much. We won't know for sure until we actually try it, but for now, it’s sufficient. The fishing grounds are still quite narrow, though, so I’d like to expand them eventually."
"Eh? Even with this much?"
The fishing port staff are stunned by Yuki-sama’s words. Well, we all thought this was already quite vast, but...
