第1652堀:護衛選出会議 (Part2)
"…I’m busy with the fields, too. Good luck, Riel."
"No, no, I actually do my job properly, you know."
With that exchange, Tori was chosen from the police contingent.
"Now, next is medical, though it’s impossible to ask Rurua, obviously."
"Regrettably, yes. However, I would like to recommend Lyushi in her stead."
"Eh? Me?"
"While it may be limited, you have worked at the Weed Hospital and possess the necessary foundations. Since you will be accompanying the Master as his guard, I believe you are the most appropriate choice."
"I see. Then, Lyushi, I’m counting on you."
"Understood! I’ll blow away anyone who dares to be rude to Yuki-sama!"
"Very good."
At Seraria’s words, everyone nodded. It is only natural to feel that way toward anyone who would harbor malice or intent to harm my brother.
"Next are the domestic and diplomatic officials… but can we really afford to lose them from here?"
"Hmm, honestly speaking, it’s difficult for me, as the school principal, and Ratz, the vice-principal. We have the supplies and finances to manage, after all."
"As for the diplomats, Stasia has already departed. We could cover the hole left by Kagura by pulling someone from the Hayden region, but…"
At Shera’s words, all eyes turned to Kagura.
"Eh? I’m to take Stasia’s place in Findall?"
"We have to set up a replacement, so could we ask it of you?"
"Ah, fine, fine, I get it. But if the other regions end up the same way, won't it be difficult to spare any more people?"
Indeed, the burden would only grow heavier if we pulled any more staff. Just as I was thinking that, Agil spoke up.
"In that case, they aren't diplomats, but we could send some of the research staff. How about Wazfi or Nilua? Hivia is out of the question, of course."
"Ah, Hivia’s position is a bit tricky. She needs more field experience. As for Wazfi and Nilua, assuming they both agree, would their absence affect the magic monitoring and research?"
"The monitoring can be done by others, and as for the research, we could use some fresh perspectives anyway. It’s perfect."
"I see, so it serves as a change of pace as well."
"That’s the idea. Well, we’ll have to hear from the two of them first, of course."
And so, provided there were no issues, the names of Wazfi and Nilua were put forward as magical personnel. We couldn't exactly send Narjia-san, after all. It seemed like a reasonable compromise.
"Phew, we’ve managed to gather the people. Now, with this team, while assisting my husband…"
Just as Seraria began to wrap things up, an unexpected person interjected.
"Hmm, hmm, I’ve never been to the Zurable region, so I’m quite interested. Could I go?"
"Comet? That’s rare for you."
Indeed, it was Comet. Usually, she stays holed up in the laboratory, being looked after by Hifi-sama and Taizo-san—a hopeless former Dungeon Master—yet here she was, volunteering herself.
"I said it just now. I’m interested. In the Zurable region. I can certainly handle teaching the students, of course. Besides, I’ve learned a fair amount regarding science, and I can serve as a substitute for Taizo-san."
"Hmm. I recognize your knowledge and ability, Comet, and I have no complaints about you acting as my husband’s guard. What do you think?"
"I don’t have any issues with it either. Zargis, how about the optimization and customization you’re working on?"
"Well, it’s going smoothly. Since we have the base, those parts are already resolved. It’s just a matter of having it used in the field and rewriting the manual. Ah, the usability differs by country, so we will need to adjust the customization over there. Therefore, Comet-san’s absence won't cause any problems."
"Then, shall we ask her?"
"Yep, yep. Leave it to me."
And so, with Comet joining the ranks, it was decided that a surprisingly robust team would be visiting the school in the Zurable region.
"Oh, and please look into the usual things—souvenirs and such."
"Ah, I’ll look into that as well."
The rabbit-kin never forgets to ask my brother to investigate the local products and trends of the land.
People are surprisingly available when you really need them. As others fill the gaps left behind, new talent begins to grow. In short, it looks like the Zurable School arc is shaping up to be quite the turbulent affair.
