第1673堀:授業のまとめ (Part2)
"Yes. As Prol-san suggested, we’ve had the students propose and deliberate on ways to eliminate the 'mouth-reduction' practice. Emperor Eupia and Shou-sama are both genuinely looking forward to the results."
"Indeed, indeed. If we don't implement this in the other continents as well, I suspect it will become a rather significant problem."
"I have to compile the lesson content from Zurable now and organize the agenda for the other nations, don't I?"
"Ah, that is a major problem."
Things were quite demanding on this end as well. This was a push-strategy to facilitate the distribution of cores, vehicles, and medical supplies, but it couldn't possibly end with just Zurable. I had to coordinate with Rogari, If, and Haiden, or the deployment of the cores would never move forward.
"Also, if I may remind you, we must confirm the progress of the harbor with Sisua-sama and Sona-sama, and address the proposal regarding the fishing port staff that Taiki-sama put forward."
"That was on the list, too, wasn't it?"
"Actually, that takes higher priority. We cannot issue instructions to Sisua-sama and Sona-sama. It would be best if you spoke to them directly, Yuki-sama. I will handle the summary of the classes and such."
"Well, I suppose that’s true."
While there isn't a strict hierarchy, a town mayor and a secretary are hardly on the same footing. Of course, I could relay messages as the King Consort, but the nuance of how far to push things would be lost; it’s faster if I go myself.
"Oh, and I almost forgot. What was the perspective from among the students?"
I turned to Nairua, Wazfi, Firia, and Hiiro, who were diligently working on their paperwork. They weren't the ones teaching, but they had been mingling with the students, providing support during lessons and chatting during breaks to identify any potential issues. In a sense, their position was the most vital of all.
"Let’s see. If you want my impression, they were all very well-behaved children."
"Yeah, I get that. They didn't have that 'sharp' edge that we do. I guess that’s what you get for being chosen for an international exchange school."
"Well, that’s because you two are far too sharp."
Nairua was the top student at the academy, but she was a shut-in who developed magic tools. Wazfi was second, a field-worker who loved researching monster biology and fought with her fists. Both, incidentally, were mages. Well, the Magic Academy never really prioritized communication, so it was likely just a difference in school policy.
"How about the younger classes, Firia and Hiiro?"
"Mm~, the little ones were basically all good children, too."
"That’s true. But, well, because they're little, there was a sense of them looking down on outsiders? Though, the teachers did keep them in check."
"I see. Children are influenced by their parents, after all. Still, I’d heard rumors that the teachers themselves were problematic, but I didn't hear anything of that sort. Did anything actually happen?"
"There wasn't any instance of the teachers acting strangely."
"Not at all. If anything, it felt like they were... recoiling?"
"Recoiling?"
I didn't quite follow. It would be one thing if they were looking down on Firia and Hiiro, but 'recoiling' seemed odd. As I pondered this, Nairua and Wazfi exchanged a wry smile.
"In our case, the body doubles were being quite stern, and we were using magical intimidation from the start, too."
"If Firia and Hiiro didn't do that, there’s only one reason. It must have been Emperor Eupia, who was with them."
"Ah."
That realization finally brought it back to me. Eupia had been blending into the younger classes with Firia and Hiiro. I hadn't heard that she’d revealed her true identity, though...
As if sensing my doubt, Nairua began to explain.
"She didn't exactly go around saying she was the Emperor, but it seems Shou and the others let it slip that she was a daughter of a most noble lineage."
"Well, if they didn't do at least that much, the teachers who acted poorly would have literally lost their heads."
Ah, right. If anyone treated Firia or Hiiro poorly, Eupia would undoubtedly be furious. She might not go so far as to take their lives, but they certainly wouldn't be able to continue their school life.
"Anyway, we’re finishing up the report now, so you should read it later."
"Yes, yes. Though, I’m personally disappointed that there was almost no talk of monsters~."
"Monsters aren't the focus this time. However, we do need to investigate the monsters in the Zurable region, so Wazfi, please prepare for that."
"Understood."
"Oh, Brother. Come to think of it, everyone in the class said the food was delicious."
"Yes, they said they wanted to eat lots more of it."
"That’s an important request, too. For now, just as Nairua said, please compile the reports and the list of requests."
"Yes, ma'am!"
Listening to their voices, I headed toward the port town, accompanied by Yayui. Everything had ended with surprisingly few issues. There were minor troubles, but nothing like the usual predicaments we faced in Lancer or Haiden; it was safe. Those other places are interesting in their own right, but they always end up becoming such long-term affairs.
