落とし穴外伝:マッドな人たちの食事会 (Part2)
This was because Yuki's point was still unclear.
"Haa, it's true that research is something I like, but that's different from a reward. And I can't share time with others. Furthermore, from an outsider's perspective, it doesn't look like I'm giving them a reward. If I've explained this much, Zargis and Agil should understand, right?"
"“Ah.”"
It seemed Zargis and Agil understood, as they nodded in response.
"Indeed, from an outsider's perspective, it's as if I'm just asking to be allowed to work. From the employer's side, it would look like I'm being treated unfairly."
"Right. I used to think I just wanted to do research, but I've given them land, medals, money, and so on. They said it was necessary as a formality. Well, I understood it after I became a general myself~. Few people can understand those who have the same hobbies and work."
"That's exactly it. If you ask people who like to train their bodies to train their bodies as a reward, what would outsiders think?"
At this point, the conversation turned to me and Narjia.
"Well, it's just an addition to their work, isn't it?"
"Exactly~. I'm not good at exercise either, so it's hardly a vacation."
"“Ah, I see.”"
With this explanation, I realized that our research, which we considered a reward, was not seen that way by others.
"But Yuki, we also like games, don't we?"
"Indeed. Giving us time to play new games or completionist games would be a reward."
"Mhm, mhm. I feel the same way."
"I~, don't dislike it. But it's not to that extent~. Rather, if it's about favorite foods, for me it's ice cream..."
Ah, Narjia is an ice cream-loving fairy who even has a dedicated freezer for ice cream in her room.
"Narjia, isn't that more of a dessert category? Well, today we'll have a meal together, and I want to know what your main favorite is. If you present it as a reward and say it's your favorite, others will be convinced."
"““Convinced.””"
Yes, I finally understood what Yuki wanted to do.
He planned today's meal to find food that would be convincing as a reward from an outsider's perspective.
"Well, you didn't seem to be aware of it, but for now, we're going to the Laboratory, so please try it."
"So, Yuki wants to know more about me, this beautiful woman, right?"
I teased him, but as always, Yuki gave me a blank look.
"Yeah, whether you're beautiful or not is another matter, but I want to know your favorite food."
"What did you say!? Look at this face, these breasts, this stomach, these hips – they're no less than your wives! I've even decisively won against some, like Agil!"
"Hey, I'm being insulted out of nowhere, aren't I? And Comet, you know that's why you're not considered beautiful, right?"
Agil said that, placing a hand on my shoulder.
I know. I know, but...
"You could at least be a little more pleased!"
For some reason, that's what bothers me.
"Yay. I'm so happy."
"That sounded so flat."
"What do you want me to do?"
"Alright, alright. Calm down, Comet. Yuki, let's go already. I'll take care of Comet."
"Indeed. There's no need to indulge such tantrums. It is, however, interestingly enough to reconsider one's favorite food."
"Yeah. I'm looking forward to it~."
And so, we went off to search for Yuki's favorite food.
Incidentally, I discovered that my favorite food was surprisingly udon.
Wow, yak udon is delicious. It's incredibly delicious.
I can honestly say it was good to find that out.
"So, Hivia, make me some yak udon."
"Huh? How do I make it? And what do you mean by 'grilling' udon?"
It seems Hivia didn't know about yak udon, and there was some confusion with the meal request.
People who are workaholics, or rather, engrossed in their hobbies, are seen differently from the outside.
Comet also found the meal delicious, but had never really thought about what she liked best, so in a way, it was a new experience.
Is yak udon a Kyushu thing?
