第1709堀:意外と難しい各国の動き (Part2)
While understanding her brother's words, Lowel seemed dissatisfied and voiced her thoughts on the country's response.
"Well, it seems they're saying they'll handle it themselves. However, since the response is to Roschur, perhaps Gartz is being cooperative. Have you heard anything from Charl?"
"No, it feels like we're waiting for contact. But hearing such things makes me worried. Shall I contact Charl?"
"Yes. Please do."
"Ah, please wait. If it's Charl-oneesama, she's staying in Weed today."
Shera's reaction was unexpected.
"Oh, is she here for work?"
"Yes. Due to diplomatic relations, she came here and is staying at our hotel."
Saying so, Shera looked at my face.
"Yes. This morning, it was regarding the transaction of flour and the delivery of cream puffs with Charl."
"Come to think of it, cream puffs have become a specialty product."
As my brother said, at the meeting between Weed and Gartz, Gartz decided to make flour its main product and create cream puffs from it.
Sugar and eggs are from other countries.
And they're surprisingly popular.
Well, if you go to Gartz, the air is sweet due to the production factories, so it might be tough for those not used to it.
Recently, Charl has also become the quality manager for cream puffs, and apparently, she doesn't want to see them anymore.
It's amazing that she maintains that style, though.
She's a busty elf, no less than Eris.
"Then it's perfect. If it's before dinner, she'll be bathing. We can tell her to come here."
"No, isn't she already bathing?"
"Don't worry, don't worry."
Saying so, Lowel turned on her heel and left the room.
"She always acts so quickly. I wonder if Charl will be alright? She knows the location, right?"
"Probably. The place where dignitaries from other countries stay is decided."
"It has to be a hotel. Well, she sometimes goes to a spa, but it shouldn't be a problem."
"Yes. The Weed staff know that Oneesama is the princess of Gartz, so I think they'll tell us Charl-oneesama's location."
Normally, it's impossible to reveal the location of an important person, but Lowel-san and we are different.
Well, she's not the type to get lost, so that should be fine.
"However, if things go poorly, Holy and Vilia might end up departing as adventurers."
"In that case, what about the planned investigation team?"
"If there are too many, they'll be suspected, so as traveling merchants... about five or six is the limit?"
My brother said so and turned his gaze to me.
He's probably asking for my opinion as a merchant.
"Yes... As my brother says, if they're traveling merchants, that's about the limit. Also, if merchants say they're investigating to see if there's anything profitable, we might be able to increase the number a bit, but they'll be more suspected."
"That's true. And if they end up doing nothing, the reputation of those merchants won't be very good, will it?"
"It's hard to say. It depends on whether they find anything profitable, but if they sell goods to the village, they won't be suspected too much."
"Next is the explanation to the country. What are the restrictions when merchants visit that country?"
"There aren't many problems regarding commerce. It varies from town to town, ah, it's the lord's policy. Basically, as long as they pay taxes, there's no problem. It's through the merchant guild. Of course, some places hope for bribes... but it's a village."
Since the village is grateful for any merchants who visit, they're unlikely to make unreasonable demands. As I was thinking this, I remembered something.
"Ah, villages have little cash, so they tend to resort to bartering."
"Ahhh..."
For some reason, Eris covered her face.
Come to think of it, there was a bit of trouble when the people of Eris's village tried to barter at a shop in Weed.
"For now, we'll need to prepare for the merchant visit. Rats, can you handle it?"
"Understood."
And so, the preparations for the dispatched merchants began.
Now then, who shall we select?
It's common for people to refuse if there's a problem, not just a simple visit.
It means they can't solve it themselves, like investigating another country.
Well, I wonder what will happen.
