第1743堀:戦いと対話にその準備を (Part2)
"That’s a tricky one to consider. After all, Roschur and Gartz are the very nations that caused us trouble. That’s exactly why I think we should talk and offer an explanation, but... Seraria, Shera, what do you think?"
"Hmm... I can't give you a definitive answer right here and now. It’s true that there should be an opportunity for an explanation, but..."
"I agree with Seraria. After all, we are currently in the middle of airing our grievances against the Ousa Kingdom and the Ahe Kingdom."
That is indeed the case. As Kirika-sama reported, while the Ousa Kingdom may have been the source of the trouble, both Gartz and Roschur were uncooperative in bringing the issue to light, and there is no doubt they are hiding something. We will have to deal with that as well, so it is no exaggeration to say we are incredibly busy.
"That was on the list, too. Come to think of it, that report was only yesterday."
As Yuki-sama mentioned, the report from Kirika-sama did indeed come in yesterday. It seems we have finally managed to catch a glimpse of their tails.
"How are things with Nina?"
"I told you myself, didn't I? You can't expect major developments in just a single day."
That is only natural. If results came that easily, no one would ever struggle.
"No, no, what are you saying? You found something that looks like a dungeon entrance, didn't you?"
"That’s right. Yuki-san, Seraria-san, and everyone else, I’m sending the data over now."
With that surprising news, Kishua-sama and Sia-sama sent the data through. We immediately expanded the files and projected the imagery onto the holographic monitor in the air. What we saw was...
"A cave, huh?"
"It looks more like a natural formation than a dungeon. Well, I wouldn't rule it out entirely, though."
It certainly didn't have the feel of the artificial structures seen in the Master’s dungeon or many others. It looked more like a hole carved into a raised earthen embankment.
"I haven't checked the inside yet, so I can't say for sure. Kishua and Sia, you're being too impatient. How do you see it, Yuki?"
"I don't know. Still, it helps that we found a candidate. Mark that spot. Leave the exploration to the Goblin squad."
"Understood. I'll leave it to them."
The good thing about Nina-sama is her ability to make such clear-cut decisions. Kishua-sama and Sia-sama seem better suited for combat or support roles.
"Well then, I’ll move on to assisting Nina. Specifically, confirming the Goblin squad’s investigation. You’ll need to have a talk with them about the situation from here on out, right?"
"I suppose so. They’re currently stunned after seeing our true strength, but they’ll need an explanation, won't they?"
"Naturally. After being shown that, an explanation is mandatory. Especially for the military."
"Indeed. They can't just overlook what they saw."
Jessica-sama and Fiora-sama are right; it’s only natural for military personnel to be curious about the power of such weapons. No, honestly, I think even civilians would be concerned. If it’s something anyone can wield, that’s to be expected.
"While you're at it, have them come to Weed and talk. They’re likely still half-doubting us, so make sure they recognize our standing properly. Besides, you’re planning to evacuate them here in the worst-case scenario, aren't you? In that sense, bring them along. It’ll serve as an explanation as well."
"That’s probably the best way. I’ll handle the details later."
"We’ll make the preparations for Ousa on this end, so contact us when you’re ready."
"Understood. Well then, I’ll go give them that explanation... Ugh, what a hassle."
With those words, the feed from the Master and the others cut off. It isn't that we can't check on them—we have drones on standby—but since this is just tedious administrative work, there is little point in monitoring it.
"With that said, Queen Miyabi, and Elder, would you be willing to meet with the people from the Ousa Kingdom?"
"Indeed. I was watching the feed; aside from the kidnapping by summoning, they don't seem like the type of people one cannot converse with. I see no issue."
"I agree. Our presence should put them somewhat at ease."
We have received their consent. Which means...
"Kirue, coordinate with Sasari and prepare to welcome the guests from the Ousa Kingdom. However, since this is unofficial, there is no need for anything extravagant."
"As you command."
It seems the stage has been set for us maids to fight with all our might. If that is the case, then I shall devote myself entirely to my duties. Whether it is battle or dialogue, both require extensive preparation in advance. I have said this many times, but war is simply one of many diplomatic tools. Though, the cost of failure is immense.
That is why Yuki and the others prioritize laying the groundwork for everything.
