第1850堀:新人冒険者出発 (Part2)

第1850堀:新人冒険者出発 (Part2)

That makes perfect sense. I had wondered why Weed was masquerading as a merchant house, but it’s the necessary front for supplying goods to the Giadana Kingdom. It also conveniently serves as the origin point for our arrival.

"Alright then. Shall we head over?"

With that, we stand before the gate. This is the military facility’s transit hub—a site designed for centralized management and security, given how frequently temporary gates are established here. It is from this very spot that units are dispatched to every corner of the realm. We are simply one of those units.

"Back from one mission only to be thrown right back into the field."

"That’s just how the world of work goes."

"I’m not complaining, though. It’s not like we couldn't return if we really wanted to."

"My brother always said we should find joy in traveling to new places," one of them chimed in.

"True enough. Being able to enjoy new landscapes and cultures is a privilege, isn't it?"

"I never had the luxury of such thoughts in the past, but I suppose that’s a valid perspective now."

"Hmm. I suppose you're right."

Ever since we came under Yuki’s command, our focus has shifted. We no longer calculate how to raze enemy territories; instead, we study the local conditions, tourism potential, and the state of their development. It is a testament to how the people of those lands have carved out their own existence. If that is what we are meant to witness, then it is hardly a bad life.

"Besides, we’ve been lazing about in Weed for a while now. It’s only fair we put in some work to repay the hospitality."

"Indeed. The last few years have been truly peaceful. Even considering our activities on the If Continent, we’ve had it quite easy."

"My work is with Yuki, personally."

"But Nina-san, you seem to enjoy your work, don't you?"

"Mmph. I can't deny that I enjoy it."

"Then don't complain. It’s a luxury to even have the choice of work."

"That part is... well, it depends on Nina, I suppose."

"Come to think of it, Nina-san, are you going to become a 'big sister'?"

"A big sister? As in, Yuki’s wife? I’m not entirely sure about that yet."

Still, it didn't feel like a bad thing.

"You’re a bit dense about these things, aren't you?"

"I don't need to hear that from you, Kishua. What do you think, Vilia?"

"Hmm. I can't really say much about Nina-oneesama. I’d welcome it, of course, but my brother is always so incredibly busy."

"Yuki-san’s schedule is... well, it’s hard to even watch, isn't it?"

"We can talk about Nina later. Let’s get through the gate."

At that, we stepped through the gate and emerged into the Giadana Kingdom. Waiting for us were three individuals wearing aprons.

"We have been expecting you. Vilia-sama, Nina-sama, Kishua-sama, Sia-sama."

"Thank you for the welcome. And you are?"

"We are staff from the Mikos Store, located on the outskirts of the Giadana Kingdom."

"The... Mikos Store?"

"Yes. Mikos-sama’s catalog has become quite popular not just here in Giadana, but in Ohe and Jeyaes as well. We found that using this name is the best way to build recognition."

"Ah, I see."

It made sense. Rather than coming up with some obscure name, it’s better to leverage one that is already known. Mikos would probably be embarrassed, though.

"So, what is our plan of action? The arrangement was to go and speak with the Cleena Church, right?"

"Yes, that is correct. We have supplies here for you to transport."

"I see, so we’re handling the logistics."

"Yes. However, please carry them in a way that is visible to others. Item bags and box-type abilities are rare, and they tend to draw unwanted attention."

"A bit of a hassle, but it can't be helped."

We accepted the goods meant for transport.

"What’s inside?"

"A variety of things, but the main cargo is recovery medicine. The Cleena Church provides treatment for the injured, you see. Once we’ve gathered information there, the plan is to have them introduce us to the Adventurer’s Guild."

"Understood."

"Should any trouble arise, please retreat to this location. We are prepared to provide immediate support, including combat forces and other necessary measures."

"Understood. We’ll count on you if it comes to that."

And so, we set foot upon the soil of the Giadana Kingdom.

Having completed their various disguises, Vilia, Nina, and the others stepped into the Giadana Kingdom. While they had properly notified the upper echelons of the kingdom, the location of the enemy remained unknown, so they would avoid direct contact unless absolutely necessary.
