第1926堀:少し気になること (Part2)
"Oh, *that* person... They look down on us so blatantly. But they shut right up when Lady Ratz is around, don't they?"
"Well, if you anger Lady Ratz, you'll be blacklisted from all of Weed."
"We could have them kicked out through Lord Yuki if things got bad enough, too. They're right on the edge."
Indeed, this was their final chance.
That person knew who their superiors were, yet maintained that attitude. There was no way Lord Yuki would ignore our input, and we were already gathering evidence. This latest behavior would determine how that fool was dealt with.
"Well, dealing with them is just such a chore. Anyway, the tea is ready, let's head back."
Hobis finished the preparations and stepped out first. I thought she had returned to her usual self, but...
"Hey, Orelia. I feel like something is off."
"I agree."
"Since we're together, keep an eye on her."
"I know."
I nodded at Yayui's words. Though we came from different places, we had worked side-by-side ever since arriving in Weed, and we would continue to do so. With Lord Yuki as our master, our lives were sailing smoothly. It was an honor to be part of a heroic tale—utilizing our skills to their fullest while working to save the world from crisis.
The same applied to Hobis. We had all resolved to support Lord Yuki and the others together. For Hobis to look so troubled was a rare occurrence. Therefore, that gloom had to be dispelled. For our sake, and for the sake of Lord Yuki and his circle.
With that thought, I returned from the breakroom to the office. Lunch boxes were already on the table, and Hobis was serving tea to Lord Yuki and the others with her usual smile.
"Thanks. Yayui and Orelia, you're back. Come on, I'm starving. Let's eat."
At Lord Yuki's invitation, we took our seats. I decided to casually ask Hobis about what was bothering her when we went out on our rounds later.
"Well then, let's eat."
"""Let's eat!"""
We began our lunch as we always did.
"Oh! It's hamburger steak today!"
"Yeah, I made these with Orelia and the others the other day as a trial run for the soup kitchen. Right?"
Lord Yuki explained as Lady Ria looked on in surprise. I certainly remembered making them.
"Wait, Yuki and Orelia made these?"
"Yeah. We can't help out if we don't know how to cook. Practice is necessary."
"Oh, stop it. You just wanted to cook, didn't you? It's delicious, though."
"Well, sure. If I only ever have others cook for me, my skills will get rusty. Besides, it doesn't hurt for Orelia and the others to know
