Chapter 2: Tried a Few Things Out

For a while, I'll be updating once a day, two chapters at a time.

You can manipulate time and space, right?

I figured out I could stop time, so I started messing around with spatial manipulation. I held my hand in front of me, imagined it—just a tiny warp in space, like a ripple in a puddle.

"Can I go in?"

Imagine widening the hole, and suddenly I could fit my whole body inside.

Inside was a blinding white expanse, stretching on forever. Time seemed frozen here— I’d brought a watch in with me, and it just... wouldn’t move.

I pictured myself getting out from somewhere else—just a crack in the white space, then a hole big enough to squeeze through, and suddenly I’m standing in front of the house’s toilet.

"Right... so if you pass through a space where time’s frozen to emerge somewhere else, it’s like teleportation, huh? And hey—this frozen time space itself? It could double as an item box!?"

There’s no doubt it’s a damn handy ability. I keep thinking that, and use it all the time...

"Something's... getting rougher."

Sudden wave of fatigue hits my body. Guess I can’t use this thing unlimited...

Anyway, the fact is that an insane ability came out of the Gacha. I immediately headed to the convenience store and withdrew my entire savings—240,000 yen—from the ATM. If I’m a part-timer and managed to save that much, I must’ve been working pretty hard, right? It was midnight, but I still went to the vacant lot where the Gacha was.

"Good... still here."

Relieved it hadn’t disappeared. I immediately shove a ten-thousand-yen note into the Gacha Vending Machine and press the button.

Clank clank… *plink*… A capsule came out. When I opened it…

The "magic" everyone wanted to try as a kid showed up. Right into my mouth. Took a little while to lick it all away...

I shouted "Wind Magic!" toward the abandoned building... nothing happened.

Tried all sorts of things… but nothing happens. Why? Could it be… I don’t have any magical ability at all?

Time stopped, but no magic? So many questions... but I figured, screw it, I’ll just pull a Gacha with the rest of my cash. And what came out... was...
