Chapter 80 Ammon

The closer we got to central London, the worse the road conditions got. Cars were abandoned, left in tattered, wrecked heaps.

"Going much further by car is gonna be tough."

Just like Anna said, the path was blocked by rubble and wrecked vehicles. The car ahead had stopped too—people were getting out, talking among themselves.

We got out of our car and headed toward Leo.

"From here, it’s about ten kilometers to central London. We can walk. Let’s leave the car behind."

Following Leo’s words, we all decided to walk. Alexander was carrying a massive load. Walking ten kilometers with that thing on his back—yeah, that’s gotta be brutal. Still, the Knights of the Sanctuary (Sanctuary Knights) are hauling a lot of gear. What’s even in those bags…?

After walking a while, I picked up a “Hostile Presence” alert. They’re coming this way. Hundreds? No… more like a lot more.

"Leo! Dragons are approaching—tons of them!"

Leo reacted immediately to my words.

"Lucas, you feel it too?"

"Yeah, I can sense a few… but—"

"Move to a clear, open space! Now!"

We all rushed to a large intersection with few vehicles. The Sanctuary Knights set down their gear and prepared for battle.

"Here they come!"

The tension spiked at Luca’s words.

Dinosaur-shaped dragons poured out from behind buildings and cars. Closer to the city center, they seemed bigger than the ones we’d seen before.

Dragons with massive wings perched atop the buildings. They spotted us and took off in unison!! Over a hundred dragons, including the usual ones, glided down toward us.

Freyja leapt into the air, joining the dragons in defense!

Hundreds more dragons surged from the ground, clawing at each other to get to us first!! I stepped forward to help—but—

"Wait, Gojo!"

Wang stopped me.

"If you do it, it'll be over in an instant! Let me fight too."

"Just testing a new weapon, right?"

"Of course! I can't wait to see how strong it is. I've gotten stronger, Gojo. Watch me."

With that, Wang plunged into the swarm of dragons. Channeling qi, the Ruyi Golden Cudgel stretched long, smashing a dragon's skull! The blow, wrapped in qi, was brutal—cracked the skull clean through.

Wang's new weapon... is terrifying.

Using the rod's extendable power, he thrust through an enemy's body. Stretching it upward, it could strike flying dragons midair, then slam them into a building's side with a thunderous crash!!

At the dragon closing in, he snapped the rod back instantly, deflecting two dragons with a swing, then spinning and kicking the third down with a clean, sharp strike.

"Amazing power, Gojo! I've grown, haven't I?!"

Wang grinned, satisfied. Definitely stronger than before. That weapon's no joke... I glanced toward the other defenders—the Sanctuary Knights (Sanctuary Knights)—and saw...

Leo was unleashing wind magic, sweeping away entire groups of dragons. Any that got close? Elias's Barrier Art shield blocked them completely.

The other members were engaging the Dragons with magic circles and bows, and Freyja, fighting alongside the flying Dragons, showed no sign of struggling at all.

Just to be safe, I pulled the "Occult Staff" from the sub-space, ready to cast magic at any moment.

Callo asked with a carefree expression.

"Callo! You're not fighting? The others are putting everything into it!"

"Of course I'm fighting. Can't let the girls do all the work, now can I? Hey, Wang—after this mission’s over, wanna go on a date? I’ve got a thing for you."

Callo was Italian, right...? Are all Italian guys like this?

"I don’t go for weak men!"

From within the circle, bloody, crimson flesh swirled and coalesced into the shape of a living being. A grotesque demon, horns sprouting from its skull, emerged.

Two Dragons lunged at the Demon (Amon)! The Demon simply raised both arms—crack—both Dragons shattered into pieces and died instantly.

"Too many of them, you know. Gotta thin the herd a bit!"

The air choked with magical energy, swirling around the demon (Amon), power swelling, rising—

Annihilate them! — Venomous Black Flame —！！

The Dragon glared at by the Demon (Amon) was burned to ash, wrapped in black flames. Whether flying or on the ground, no Dragon could escape the gaze of the Demon (Amon).

The Dragon, supposed to be immune to fire, keeps turning to ash one after another.

The demon (Amon) gave a satisfied smirk, watching the enemy forces nearly wiped out... then dissolved into black particles and vanished.

"Wang, how was it? Pretty strong, right?"

You... surprisingly good at this... if you can fight, why not just take it seriously from the start!?

I can’t help but get annoyed seeing Carlo laugh like that… but damn, he’s impossible to hate. Only a handful of dragons remained on the ground… I figured they’d be dealt with quickly. Then, out of nowhere—something changed.

"Aw crap... this is bad... really bad..."

I looked up at the sky, muttering, "What the—?" I turned just in time to see a massive swarm of black dots blotting out the heavens, coming straight at us.

“What the hell? That thing…”

Wyvern... weaker than a flying dragon, but that many? We’re screwed. Gonna run out of magic before we even reach the destination.

"Why the hell did you just show up out of nowhere?"

Hmm... maybe it reacted to the demon's power... Ammon...?

It's your fault, isn't it?!

"Come on, come on, don't get mad like that."

That guy’s always so damn relaxed…! Then, from across the street, Leo shouted out at the top of his lungs!

"Carlo! Fall back for now!! Get inside the building—"
