214 What Can Be Done Now

They left the city.

For now, both wine and fine meals are out of reach.

What in the world—

Well, there's nothing to be done about it.

It was impossible to drink alcohol out in the open, after all.

Moreover, if one continues to indulge in that bliss indefinitely, eventually, satiation will occur.

Only after such a cooling period does appreciation emerge.

A little of the mindset of a salaryman praising post-work beer was beginning to make sense.

If there was any dissatisfaction, it was that the Vampire Child ultimately failed to master magic.

The signs were not of skill acquisition, nor even of grasping a foothold—future prospects were uncertain.

I can't exactly say that about myself, though.

Became a god. That much is settled.

It aligns precisely with the outcome I sought.

But being completely excluded from the system hurt.

Frankly, my capabilities have dropped sharply compared to before.

I can still produce threads.

Thanks to my origins as a spider, I can generate them directly, not as a skill, but as a physical manifestation.

In fact, by stepping outside the skill framework entirely, I now have greater freedom to customize the threads than ever before.

But beyond that, it's unavoidable to say all other abilities have weakened.

Most magic no longer allows attribute application, which has diminished their effectiveness.

The exceptions are shadow-based magic, spatial magic that inherently lacks attributes, healing magic, and Heretic Magic.

Even healing magic, now that I've become a god and established a method for bodily regeneration, serves no purpose when cast through magic. It's treated as waste.

Spatial magic has become unstable due to the loss of system support and requires further practice.

The dark magic is usable, though—well, probably won’t be needed much.

Other spells, depending on the type, have become entirely unusable. Effectively, only darkness magic remains functional.

That’s assuming combat scenarios, of course. Daily use presents no issues.

You could summon ice for self-made shaved ice, for example.

Won’t do it, though.

No resistance.

Resistance was a skill that nullified elemental attributes—system-derived defense. It’s been lost.

Thus, status effects previously negated now land normally.

In this way, abilities once possible are now impossible. A state of inconvenience.

Mostly only elemental-affiliated effects are affected.

Spatial magic is slightly different.

As for the rest, it doesn’t matter much. But among the lost, poison is the most jarring.

The poison that had previously stood alongside thread as my support has become unusable.

In this world, poisons are all categorized under the Poison Attribute.

Not chemical toxins, but poisons generated through magical processing.

Thus, the term "poison" is technically inaccurate. A more precise designation would be "magical attack that inflicts持续 damage."

The poisons I created through poison synthesis were merely water with this effect applied.

Through the system, or viewed through a magical lens, they were pure H₂O.

Poison Resistance is resistance to the Poison Attribute. Therefore, it has no practical meaning in relation to actual poison.

The system prevents the generation of chemical toxins in this world. As such, they pose no threat to those within it.

The absence of generation does not mean they cannot be brought in. A substance like nitric acid could be borrowed from Earth and used normally.

Only black can do that, at least for now.

Then there's the Deviant Eye.

It's clearly divided into usable and unusable abilities.

Usable: Far-View, Future Sight, Annihilation.

Unusable: Cursed Grudge, Stasis, Repulsion.

Far-View is similar to a telescope—easy to use.

Future Sight is slightly weakened, but still functional.

Without system assistance, computational processing has become extremely complex. The burden is immense, but it’s not impossible to use.

Annihilation—yes, that works.

All the unusable ones are tied to attributes. There’s nothing to be done about that.

Cursed Grudge affected HP and core system mechanics. Stasis is a paralysis attribute. Repulsion is a weight attribute.

Threads, poison, magic, Deviant Eye.

These four were my greatest assets. One has been lost, two are more than half damaged.

This constitutes significant weakening.

Of course, that’s not true.

A god cannot be such a fragile entity.

Capabilities have diminished.

That is undeniable.

But while the variety of what I can do has decreased, the quality has improved dramatically.

First, status.

I am outside the system, so strictly speaking, status does not exist.

Yet, by enhancing physical ability with magic, I achieve effects comparable to status in this world.

Unlike fixed status, I can adjust output at will.

Thus, I can control physical ability with greater freedom.

Magical power is incomparable to what it was before godhood. The enhanced physical ability, when converted to status, exceeds one hundred thousand without difficulty.

The status cap is 99,999. It is impossible to surpass me using status alone.

Moreover, 100,000 is merely the baseline. In combat, output can be increased further.

Penetrating the Demon King’s physical immunity was not due to any special technique—only that the load exceeded the limit the skill could endure.

Pure brute force.

Even so, within this world, this would be sufficient to defeat any opponent not clad in black.

Additionally, the "Divine Fundamentals Course" gifted by D outlines the minimum required abilities for godhood.

With this, I possess combat capability enough to claim the title of god, even if at the lowest tier.

Also, though I have lost certain skills, the memory of having used them remains intact.

While the system cannot reproduce the original attributes, something similar can be reconstructed given sufficient time.

Some skills rendered unusable may still be replicated through similar methods, given sufficient time.

The Eye of Corruption is among those I wish to revive first.

I have delegated this task to a detached fragment, cast into a separate dimension.

This fragment is composed of the Baby-Beings I created to facilitate the resurrection of my original form, now collected and absorbed.

Each individual possesses negligible power, but their parallel processing-like coordination allows me to assign specific roles, each working toward the recreation of abilities.

Even if the main body rests, this fragment tirelessly accumulates effort in the background.

Like a waterfowl appearing graceful on the surface, yet furiously paddling beneath.

The main body is not idle.

It is not idle at all.

Thus, during my journey, I have been cultivating myself in unseen ways.

Hmph. Perhaps the Vampire Child might one day learn from me.
