294 Elf Village Defense and Offense, Part 4
A faint vibration reaches me.
It originates from the fiercest battle among those unfolding throughout the forest.
Recognizing its source, I open my eyes just once, glance at the black one, and teleport away.
Yamada-kun’s group is nearly neutralized. The rest is no concern—left to Oni-kun, it will resolve.
I now understand why Yamada-kun suffered: Taboo-induced const.
Given his state, he won’t regain mobility soon. Facing the Demon King is impossible.
Leaving him is sufficient.
More pressing, I wish to focus solely on eliminating the Elf’s final weapon, now finally revealed.
Yes—finally, the Elves have deployed it.
Not comparable to the robot I fought moments ago, this weapon.
The scene I see upon teleporting: a swarm of Taratects being ravaged.
A small spider, like the one I once was, a larger spider grown from that, a great spider grown further still—each crushed without resistance.
Among them, even the Queen was present.
Floating in midair.
One word describes it: Uni.
A colossal sphere, perhaps ten meters in diameter.
Countless spines extending from its surface.
Yes. Uni.
A massive metallic Uni.
A form that provokes confusion, yet its performance is extreme.
Each spine, extending from its entire body, is a barrel. It maintains continuous carpet bombing toward the ground.
No escape.
Shells fall like rain from above, where Uni floats, turning the land into scorched earth.
The forest vanishes.
The Taratect swarm, together with it.
Even the Queen cannot evade the bombardment. Her form is worn down, bit by bit.
The Queen’s massive frame, no matter how large, is still an easy target for the bombardment.
Normally, the Queen could evade attacks with speed disproportionate to her size. But when faced with a wide-area barrage of shells, even she cannot avoid them.
Yet, perhaps that is why she is the Queen.
Pride or instinct — regardless, as she is struck by the rain of shells, she gathers a contradictory energy, black light, within her mouth.
A breath.
The Queen, a monster of the highest class, unleashes her full-power breath.
A colossal beam of black light launches into the air, aimed directly at Uni.
It obliterates the shells fired from Uni, vaporizes Uni’s core with the released energy, and extends even into space.
A vision of that scene flashes before the mind.
Such power existed.
The queen’s full-force strike, upon impact, possessed the destructive power to obliterate mountains and alter the landscape.
A metallic mass no more than ten meters in diameter possessed the power to erase all traces of itself.
Yet Uni remains alive.
The blow struck true.
She did not even attempt to avoid it.
As if avoiding it were unnecessary.
The barrier surrounding Uni erased the Queen's breath.
Erased. That is it.
Not prevention.
The barrier erased the Queen's breath.
As if it had never existed to begin with.
I know that barrier.
After all, I have experienced it with my own body.
An abandoned facility of a former civilization located beneath the earth.
The taste experienced was magical interference.
The barrier version.
Potimas surviving from that ancient civilization’s era is not implausible.
A weapon utilizing such technology would not be unexpected.
This is the elven ultimate weapon.
There is nothing Queen can do against Uni, whose breath attacks are ineffective.
All long-range attacks are repelled by Uni’s barrier.
Only pure physical attacks remain as an option, yet constant bombardment prevents any such approach.
Queen attempts to ascend into the air through spatial maneuvering—but is stitched to the ground by artillery before even taking a step.
Each impact erodes Queen’s form, and regeneration is impossible before the next strike arrives.
A Queen of the same type as the Mother is being utterly crushed, powerless.
What terrifying weapon has been developed here.
Could this alone be enough to conquer the world?
There are likely issues with ammunition count and the energy required for operation.
But... it never runs out of rounds.
It must be storing projectiles in a spatial extension internally—hidden away in another dimension, probably.
Otherwise, the mechanics wouldn't add up.
I’m not just observing the battle between the Great Monster and the Future Weapon.
Even if it doesn’t look like it, I am actively attacking Uni to assist the Queen.
But the barrier is blocking all attacks—so far, every attempt has been repelled.
Even Bosshoot, directed into the other dimension, cannot breach the barrier—no entrance can even be opened.
Magic-based sniping is erased by the barrier.
Gnununu!
This barrier is stronger than I expected.
Magic interference isn’t universally effective.
It’s interference, not total nullification—there are still hard limits.
The core principle: if an attack's output exceeds the barrier's interference capacity, it will pass through without being fully erased.
But to achieve that, the attack must surpass the interference threshold. Given that the barrier has already neutralized Queen's Breath without issue, the barrier's strength must be considerable.
Yes.
Impossible!
No— it's not impossible.
It's just that doing so would require consuming an amount of energy so vast it would render us useless.
Frankly, wasteful.
Therefore, an alternative method will be employed.
Honestly, I'd rather not do this.
But necessity overrides choice.
Eyes open.
Focus power into the pupils.
Target Uni within the field of view.
Evil Eye: Gluttony activated!
This Evil Eye was developed after achieving godhood.
Its ability resembles the Demon King's Gluttony skill.
That is precisely why it was named the Evil Eye of Gluttony.
Its ability is straightforward: energy theft.
An Evil Eye that decomposes any magic within its field of view into energy and absorbs it.
The magic interference field mounted on Uni—technically, this is also a form of magic.
A magic that interferes with and eradicates other magic.
That is the true nature of the magic interference field.
Therefore, if one can develop a magic that erases magic, then a magic to erase that magic could be created.
It was at this point that the Demon King’s Sin Skill, Gluttony, was examined.
Gluttony converts everything into energy and consumes it.
By analyzing this principle and modifying it to target only magic, this Evil Eye of Gluttony was developed.
One of the trump cards I created specifically for countering Black.
That is why I didn’t really want Black to see it.
The Uni’s signature magic suppression barrier was consumed by my Gluttony’s malevolent eye—so much so that even the magic sustaining its levitation was devoured. It plummeted to the ground.
Waiting below: the Queen.
The Uni fired projectiles in resistance, but with its barrier gone and grounded, victory was impossible.
The Queen’s massive fang pierced the steel Uni, reducing it to scrap.
Victory.
At that moment, the Uni detonated.
The Queen absorbed the explosion at point-blank range.
Its upper half vanished. The remaining lower half collapsed weakly onto the ground.
Damn it!
Self-destruct at the very end—really going all out.
A heavy loss, yes—complete annihilation of the Qract group, including the Queen. But conversely, that alone was enough to destroy the elf’s ultimate weapon.
There’s no choice but to accept it as necessary cost.
