Upon analysis, it became clear that far fewer people than expected actually desired a return to the meritocratic, capitalist system of the Ichihon Gei University community. Most were reasonably content with the current arrangement.
Considering the circumstances, it's hardly surprising.
After all, everyone here has witnessed humans being torn apart by those "zombies."
Everyone is fully aware of their own helplessness.
Everyone is afraid of being forced to exert even greater effort than they are already giving.
They all fear they might be driven into conflict at any moment tomorrow.
The community's management will continue to be entrusted to Kōzō Asada, as before.

Under certain stress-inducing conditions, many people can develop resistance within a short period.
The problem lies in how long that resistance will last.
In this extraordinary environment, where we could be attacked by monsters at any moment, we needed to pay even more attention to each other's well-being and mental state than usual.
Everyone had to wish for the stable continuation of this community.
Above all, for their own safety and self-preservation.

Perhaps I had let my guard down a little.
Today marked the first death in about a month from within the community.
Although he was armed with a firearm, the incident occurred because he was allowed to act alone.
He reportedly let his guard down for a moment and was bitten by a "zombie."
He was euthanized by a young member of the emergency rescue team.

Tomorrow, the girl in question and another student will depart for Ikebukuro, escorted by the "Reincarnated One."
According to reports, they must undergo training in a place known as a "Dungeon" to acquire new powers.
It's unsettling that the flying dragon will be gone, but there's nothing we can do—this is for their future.

A powerful flash of light was witnessed from the direction of Ikebukuro.
According to several students who had been working on model kits late into the night, a giant serpent several tens of meters long appeared to rise upward into the sky.
After that, communication with the three students—starting with the girl in question—was completely lost. They vanished without a trace.

I had planned to write a little more in my journal yesterday, but had to stop when the "monster" attacked.
This time, the "monster" was a giant ant about four meters long.
When it quietly poked its face through the window of the staff room, I was terrified, but thanks to the efforts of the young members of the rescue squad, we managed to eliminate it.
Still, as a result, we lost Sensei Kakusaka and several other colleagues.
Just two days ago, we'd just celebrated with a toast of whiskey after work.
Damn it.

—A house set ablaze by its own inhabitants.
—A criminal attacking passersby like a beast.
—People seized by madness.
We are powerless. No one can be saved.
I told the rescue team to take a break,
but they said, "At least until our senior returns..."
Their words broke my heart.

At first, I wasn't eager to engage in total war against that man called "King," but... as I heard concrete information from the informant, my opinion changed.
That man is far too dangerous. He must not be allowed to live.
