101: Finally able to begin sightseeing
"Confirmed the disappearance of the 'Blank OS' zone."
"Understood. We will take over monitoring from here."
The 'Blank OS' zone, caused by the phenomenon rupture cannon I fired, has safely vanished.
The observations were consistent regardless of whether I used my main body's perception, the perception through the 'Hetero Mirror' operated by Memokushi and Johariss, or confirmation via a randomly selected light-emitting mod—there can be no doubt about the results.
"Report transmission complete..."
"Good work, Satā-sama."
"Whoa, that's an insane amount of data..."
The transmission of all data, including the disappearance of the 'Blank OS' zone, to Seiryō Corporation has also been completed.
More specifically, the submission of reports on the Event Collapse Cannon Model 500 Error Sepia, the external control mod known as Satan's Golden Ring, the Strange Water Mirror, Megalina Sphera transformed into a cosmic monster, and various other matters related to the Flaretanbo star system, has been successfully completed.
"Now I need to go through the corrections I sent long ago, and review the latest mod research..."
"...Satā, you should take a break for now. Your facial structure is slightly off."
"...I heard Seiryō Corporation was a white-collar company, but this might require an audit eventually."
"...I suppose so. Words like 'working too hard out of passion' or 'pushing right up to the limits of your ability' might start coming up."
But the report hell isn't over yet.
But since Viridianiara put a stop to it, I decided to call it a day.
Yeah, that works.
The deadline hasn't passed yet, and as long as we can keep going while there's still time at night, that's fine.
Let's do that.
"Vee. What's the plan from here?"
With that, I shake off my thoughts and ask Viridianiara about our next steps.
"We'll return to Planet Flaretanbo 1 and conduct sightseeing and audits across various locations. The duration should be safe for at least two weeks."
"Hmm, I see."
We're currently aboard the 'Pumpkin Witch,' returning from the wreckage of the guide colony to Planet Flaretanbo 1.
Once we arrive around the planet, it seems we'll descend directly onto its surface.
"Lord Vee. Do you sense any threats?"
"I don't sense any threats at the moment. However, I can't determine whether that's because I'm not perceiving danger, something is progressing without involving me, or if nothing at all is happening. Please maintain at least minimal vigilance."
"Understood."
No threats detected at the moment.
That's good news.
That said, given the nature of the Vilijanila's eyes, distinguishing between situations where nothing is happening and those where something is happening but still not threatening does seem quite difficult, so we should definitely stay alert.
"Please explain why you said it's safe for two weeks. Normally, you wouldn't say 'it's safe' in such a context."
"Let me explain step by step... Right now, we're heading toward Imperial Star Vanilla Side. So our next destination will be the Niliani Potts system. After evaluating when to proceed to the Niliani Potts system, we concluded that arriving between one week and two weeks from now would be most appropriate. That's what we mean by 'it's safe.'"
"……. Well, I'll go with that then."
Yeah, I guess Joharis might already suspect something like this.
Vilijanira is the type who inevitably gets involved in or stumbles into trouble wherever she goes.
And if we take that a step further, it's likely that some kind of trouble exists within the Niliani Potts system, and the reason the appropriate timing turns out to be two weeks from now is because of considerations regarding how to handle it.
There's no way I can process the amount of information gathered in Vilijanila's hands, so the numbers resulting from her analysis aren't something I can comment on.
Incidentally,
the option to head there immediately has quietly been eliminated—that's an important point.
Though Vilijanila herself might not even understand exactly how or why, going there right now would likely become a negative factor in itself.
I don't know what's in the Niliyanipots system, but I'll keep it in mind for now.
"Is there anything else?"
"I haven't actually heard exactly where we're going yet."
"Ah, now that you mention it..."
Well, that can wait for now.
My top priority is protecting Vilijanila,
so it's more worthwhile to focus on what lies ahead in the Flaretanbo system rather than the Niliyanipots system.
"Memo."
"Yes, Lord Vee."
So, regarding what comes next within the Flaretanbo system.
After landing, the various evidence handovers can be quickly wrapped up.
Well, as agreed, I'll be visiting the canned goods company Feikando, the confectionery company Flaresuden, and the resort hotel Sphipool, which we met at the Count Flaretanbo's tea party.
That was the arrangement.
If possible, I'll also visit the lens company Tehirokakou.
We didn’t make any promises, but given my past connections with individuals who had important information about cosmic monsters, there might be something there.
Then again… perhaps it’s time to gradually visit some of the tourist spots and local specialties I haven’t been able to get to due to the Maegurinia incident.
“This could make for some interesting articles.”
“That’s right. There’s plenty to write about, and plenty to eat. So let’s take a proper rest here for now.”
And so, with a mindset quite different from our first time, we descended onto Planet Flaretanbo 1.
