145: New Species, Rare Species, and Imperial Product Exhibition in Nieriani Potts

145: New Species, Rare Species, and Imperial Product Exhibition in Nieriani Potts

Today features three updates.

This is the first part.

"Then, I'm off."

"Have a safe trip, Sata."

"Looking forward to your souvenirs, Sata."

"Please be careful, Master Sata."

The day after report hell.

Having safely finished submitting the report during the night, I headed toward the First Primal Colony of the Narianipotz System to attend the final day's event: the New Species, Rare Species, and Imperial Goods Exhibition.

Well, "headed" is a bit of a stretch—I merely teleported from within the *Sexy MiAzuma*'s interior to an unobtrusive spot within the colony, a move so effortless it barely counted as travel.

"Ah, seeing sights alone again after so long..."

And so, nothing unexpected happened, and they arrived at the venue for the New Species, Rare Species, and Imperial Product Exhibition.

Let me reintroduce the New Species, Rare Species, and Imperial Product Exhibition.

The New Species, Rare Species, and Imperial Product Exhibition is a venue where newly discovered or rare creatures from across the empire are showcased, prepared and eaten, or sold as imported goods.

Additionally, as its name suggests, the event is also a competition to determine which product best fits the predetermined theme.

This time's theme is products suitable for building healthy bodies, in keeping with the Narianipotts star system.

The event lasts one week.

Voting and review privileges for the exhibition are unlocked based on the amount spent on goods purchased during the exhibition.

Incidentally, similar exhibitions are held simultaneously across the empire.

However, since each exhibition features different vendors and themes, visitors will always see something new.

"Hmm, smells good. Cooking-related entries really are strong."

Let's take a look.

The first thing that struck me was the aroma of well-grilled meat and sauce.

Apparently, the booths near the entrance serve a dual purpose—drawing in visitors and hosting food stalls aimed at tourists.

So, I grabbed a random hot dog and juice, and gave them a try.

"Hmm... This mod enhances digestion and absorption, using high-quality meat, vegetables, and bread. The taste is average, but thematically, it's excellent. The juice... ah, this juice is actually a liquidized protein drink. The taste... well, it's not quite up to everyday standards..."

Unfortunately, it turned out to be a miss in terms of flavor.

Well, since I didn't put much effort into picking, this is to be expected.

For now, I'll keep eating as I move further back into the venue.

"Next up... the Flaretanbo system only has the neighboring one, so their booth is quite large."

The next booth I came to was the Flaretanbo system's.

It's bigger than the others... but still, compared to systems with even larger ones, you can really feel the Flaretanbo system's sense of inferiority.

The items... well, they start with Fekando Corporation canned goods and mostly consist of ordinary products.

I might as well try some sashimi from a fish we don't usually eat in the Flaretanbo system.

Yeah, it's delicious.

The freshness is well preserved!

"The Grogrobeta system is naturally large and seems like the main attraction."

The stalls in the Grogrobeta system are filled with various vegetables and fruits that have been selectively bred to meet the demands of the Niliyanipotts system.

I tried buying and eating a salad, and it felt like I was absorbing beneficial nutrients while also making it easier to expel harmful substances.

My body doesn’t actually need to eliminate anything, though.

"Huh, that’s unusual."

Continuing on, I headed toward the booth in the Shiblasmith system.

This system… according to my memory, it’s the next one I’m supposed to visit after the Niliyanipotts system.

The items on display… look like training equipment.

Dumbbells that allow efficient weight training, thanks to the mod.

A mask that enables daily high-altitude training, also utilizing the mod.

Training gear based on the latest human engineering principles is displayed.

Hmm, to me, this is just unusual.

"Ah. I thought it was just fried chicken, but this oil is different—delicious."

Moving further, we reach the booth in the Oilminagir Star System.

Various fried foods are being sold here.

So I ordered some fried chicken and took a bite.

Hmm, hot and juicy—right when I brought it to my mouth, the savory aroma hit me straight in the nose, and with each chew, the rich flavor of the meat and the oil danced in my mouth.

But what's surprising is that the chicken itself is a familiar protein broiler from the Niliyanipotts Star System.

In other words, it's not the chicken that's special— it's the oil.

"But that's a pity, really. In terms of this year's judging theme... well..."

It seems this oil penetrates the meat while frying, replacing the usual fat and imparting a much more delicious richness than ordinary meat could offer.

It appears to be using some kind of mod, perhaps even functioning like a seasoning mod in a way.

Normally, one could confidently say it's an excellent oil.

However, in terms of this year's tasting competition theme, it would unfortunately receive a negative evaluation.

After all, when it comes to nutritional value and suitability for physical development, the foods currently used in the Nieranian Potts system—such as protein broilers—are superior to this oil.

Hmm, such a pity.

"Alright, next... Here it is, the rare items section."

So far, these have been ordinary items.

There are still many things I haven't seen, but time is limited—there's nothing to be done about that.

And now, we enter the rare items section.

Items that originated or mutated on planets within their respective star systems, becoming entirely distinct from similar species in other star systems, are still considered ordinary.

But there are also items that, through specialized processing, have become so unique they seem unlike anything I've ever seen before.

"Fufufu, already giving off a seriously suspicious smell..."

Then, let's take on the challenge.

First, something emitting a strange odor near the entrance of the rare items area—unpleasant yet oddly appetizing.

Happy New Year.

Wishing you a great year ahead.
