021 Beginner Training 7 Ship Cultivation 2

Day four of beginner training.

"Today we'll do ship cultivation practice.

Purchase parts in the virtual space and run fusion simulations.

The base model is the Station Standard Ship Type C, commonly known as the NPC (mob) Ship C (cruiser).

It's been specially stripped of all equipment.

Now, fuse in weapons and Defense to customize it into your own unique style.

If you want to tinker with the core unit or Electronic Equipment, perform a fusion separation.

It's a simulation, so the budget is unlimited—but don’t go overboard with unrealistic cultivation."

Basic specs for the Station Standard Ship Type C, commonly known as the NPC (mob) Ship C (cruiser):

Ship Class: Standard Cruiser

Hull: 200m long, Cruiser Type, 2 arms

Main Engine: Type E Fusion Reactor, Type F High-Speed Propulsion Unit

Armament: Main Gun: None

Secondary Gun: None

Anti-Space Cannon: None

Missile Launcher Pod: None

Defense: Beam-Resistant Coating, Special Steel Armor Plate

Kinetic-Resistant Shield, Beam-Resistant Shield: None

Stasis Field (Barrier): None

Electronic Equipment: Anti-Ship Radar Type E, Communication Device Type E

Empty Energy Slot: 5

I tried fusion too.

First, pick Type E Stasis Field.

That’s the kind of defense a cruiser typically mounts against railguns.

Sure, if they hit you enough times, the Stasis Field won’t hold—but if you take one hit, just make sure the second one misses.

That’s one energy slot.

Next, four single 5cm Laser units, four barrels, as an anti-space weapon.

Standard anti-space armament—costs one energy slot.

Main gun: one 15cm Long Barrel Railgun, single mount, one gun. One energy slot.

Choosing this instead of the 20cm Railgun, which uses two energy slots.

Secondary guns: two 10cm Particle Beam Cannon units, single mount, two guns. Two energy slots.

Same energy slot count even with larger caliber, but we’re going with 10cm for weight reasons.

Even though twin mounts would also use two energy slots, I went with two single mounts instead—better arc of fire based on turret placement.

Total energy slots used: five.

Now, onto weight equipment.

The main engine’s not that strong, so I’d rather not sacrifice speed.

Shield: E-type, standard for cruisers.

Missile Launcher Pods: standard E-type, two units, two mounts.

And thus, my fused ship became this.

Armament: Main Gun: Single 15cm Long Barrel Railgun, 1 Unit, 1 Barrel — Standard Ammo: 80 (Remaining) / 80 (Max)

Secondary Gun: Single 10cm Particle Beam Cannon, 2 Units, 2 Barrels

Anti-Space Cannon: Single 5cm Laser, 4 Units, 4 Barrels

Missile Launcher Pod: Standard E-Type, 2 Units, 2 Barrels — Max Ammo: 2×2

Defense: Beam-Resistant Coating, Special Steel Armor Plating

Anti-Projectile & Beam Shield, Type E, 1

Stasis Field (Barrier), Type E

Electronic Equipment: Anti-Ship Radar, Type E; Communications Unit, Type E

Empty Energy Slot: 0

Commander Shiina smiles wryly at my ship.

"Akira, your ship’s just a standard one… minus the gear you stripped off."

(Yeah, the fleet flagship’s not some dumb over-the-top warship. Normal’s best, right?)

Forest used a generous budget to overhaul the entire hull.

I was being scolded by Commander Shiina for building a battleship.

The point is to try merging within limited constraints—can't really help it.

In the end, Ooi became the missile ship, Ayame the assault ship, and Kirii and Tanpopo the sniping ships.

Commander Shiina let slip a remark while scolding Forest.

The thing is, I hear tomorrow's drill was supposed to be held on this ship.

Fleet battle with unknown enemy performance status.

That’s why they kept their ship specs hidden from others.

The forest gave away the clue, though.
