030 Idol Chapter 6: Simulated Battle Tournament 2

Simulated Battle Tournament Beginner Class: 3-Fleet Division.

That was the match I was entered in.

My turn was randomly assigned to the third match.

The opposing fleet was called Triaster.

I hadn’t registered a fleet name of my own, so the registration system had auto-assigned it using my GN—making it Akira Fleet.

Our forces consisted of the following three ships.

‘AKIRA’ ‘RIO (Rio)’ and, for balance, an ‘NPC Ship Type D’ was assigned.

Ammo count is at full replenishment.

But no resupply until the finals—so conserve carefully.

If we empty every magazine, next fight won’t be a fight.

First match through fourth match’s first round are held simultaneously.

Meaning we can’t see what the other fleets are doing.

Best if our one ship isn’t recognized as an NPC vessel.

Then again, they can hide their weaknesses too. Same rules for everyone.

Victory conditions: total destruction of enemy ships or their surrender. Time limit exceeded—automatic loss.

If both sides remain unharmed and refuse to fight, it's a mutual loss.

If one side keeps fleeing without engaging, the fleeing side loses.

Simulated combat takes place by logging into the ship’s CIC, then connecting to the virtual arena from there.

Move your avatar to the venue, enter using your entry key.

Grab the icons for 'AKIRA', 'RIO (Rio)', and 'NPC Ship Type D' from the VR screen in front of you and toss them into the selection field.

Combat zone randomly set to "dense asteroid belt."

"Dense" refers to rock fragment density.

Ready. Now just wait for the match to start.

Numbers appear before my eyes. Countdown begins.

The world snaps into a new configuration at zero—plunged straight into the heart of the asteroid belt.

Match start.

First, locate our allied ships and enemy positions.

Activate the Tactical Weapon Integration Control System. Establish data link with the allied fleet.

Now we can track their positions.

Instruct all ships to scan passively—no radar.

If we fire up radar in a cluttered area, it’s like waving a sign that says “Here I am.”

I didn’t expect it… but the NPC ships are picking up radar signals. Three enemy vessels are broadcasting their positions, using radar themselves.

AKIRA and RIO are hidden in the shadows of the asteroids—radar waves can’t reach them.

“Alright. We’re going with the decoy strategy.”

Signal RIO to standby the Long Barrel 20cm Railgun.

Activate the radar on the NPC Ship Type D, and have its optical sensors scan for data collection.

At the same time, use speed to flee, luring the enemy vessel into RIO’s line of fire.

The Triaster fleet, spotting the destroyer (NPC Ship Type D), began chasing it in a trio, aiming to destroy it one by one.

I tap into the data link to grab the electronic and optical observation data from the NPC Ship Type D.

Enemy forces: two cruisers, one destroyer.

The destroyer leads, with two cruisers forming a delta formation on either flank.

Drawn in by the NPC Ship Type D’s bait, the Triaster fleet closes in on RIO’s targeting range.

“NPC Ship Type D, launch missiles—just a distraction. RIO, fire the Railgun barrage the moment the enemy enters your range! Eliminate them.”

Three missiles streak away. One after another, each aimed at a different enemy vessel.

The enemy ship intercepts the incoming missiles with a beam.

Shoot it down without letting it get close.

In that instant, the destroyer leading the formation was struck directly by a railgun and crippled.

A high-caliber railgun that pierces destroyer armor like paper.

The following cruiser tries to evade—but the large-caliber railgun hits it twice, then three times. The Stasis Field collapses. Armor explodes off.

The fourth hit struck where there was nothing left to protect, and the cruiser went dead in the water.

The remaining cruisers couldn't fire from RIO—their fleetmates were blocking the way.

But Rio used her high speed to charge forward, pursuing the enemy ship that had tried to flee from behind.

Firing the railgun once the line of sight is clear.

Hit the enemy destroyer's engines from behind—its hull ruptured and it sank in a flash.

"Total enemy fleet destroyed. Match concluded. Victory for Akira's fleet."

The system voice echoed, and the scene before me snapped back to the entry arena.

"Good. One win, ten thousand G earned. Next one's ours too."
