Battle against the first wave of Zeno. Despite heavy casualties among the bio-oids, the first wave was repelled.
Analysis of initial kill ratios revealed that approximately 200 Zeno units had to be destroyed before a single medium to large Arsen warship was lost—giving a kill ratio of roughly 200:1.
In contrast, the kill ratio for smaller vessels was about 100:1, while manned assault craft achieved only 30:1, and even unmanned assault craft managed no better than 10:1.
Taking the analysis results into account, the military decided on the mass deployment of manned assault craft, significantly expanding the bio-oid personnel quota. The government amended the existing law and began强制 conscription of bio-oids.
Of the bio-noids, who at the time made up thirty percent of the population, adult bio-noids between the ages of fifteen and sixty were conscripted; most were crushed on the front lines against Zeno, yet—by some margin—Zeno’s retreat was ultimately successful.
The Arsenians, fearing that bio-oids might harbor discontent over their treatment during wartime, implemented a series of bio-oid regulations. As a result, the absolute number and production rate of bio-oids remained at roughly a third of pre-war levels when the Second Zeno War arrived.

Combat against the Second Zeno Wave. During the recovery phase following the First Zeno War, the Second Zeno Wave descended from around the entire perimeter of Arsen.
Shortly after the end of the First Zeno War, hull-armor technology was established, dramatically increasing the defensive capabilities of warships. Yet at the time of开战, fewer than twenty percent of existing warships had hull-armor. Moreover, due to bio-android restrictions, the absolute number of bio-androids had not yet recovered, and the unmanned weapons that had replaced them were soon exhausted. The production of antimatter, required in ever-increasing quantities, could not keep pace. The coalition kingdom eventually lost control of all star regions. The Arsen branch of the Coalition Kingdom fell. The Second Zeno War, for convenience, is provisionally designated as "Bengijō."
Planetary-class starship Agirakana
The Agirakana was completed at the climax of the Second Zeno War—a planetary development vessel designed exclusively for the survival of the Arsenian species, anticipating the collapse of the Coalition Kingdom following defeat in the Zeno War. Accompanied by numerous escort combat vessels, it began its journey from the central star system of Arsen toward regions believed to be free of Zeno presence.
Agirakana, governed entirely by its administrative AI, set forth on a journey from Arsen’s central star system toward regions believed to be free of Zeno presence, carrying three million Arsenian fertilized eggs in search of a new world. At the time, Agirakana was encased in an SS6-class hull—2,560 kilometers in diameter, corresponding roughly to today’s core—and was fully stocked with automated machinery and resources, ensuring the Arsenian lineage would not falter at its earliest stages. Yet the number of bio-noids aboard remained relatively small. These few bio-noids were known as First-Stage Bio-noids, a designation distinct from the current Agirakana. They lacked the second name—“Daini”—that would have referred to their own production facilities, which would have been meaningless to them; they were called simply “Daiichi.”
Midway through the voyage, the fleet encountered a mid-sized group of Zeno. The escort fleet was completely destroyed, and the Agirakana suffered multiple direct hits from Zeno suicide attacks, resulting in partial hull breaches. Further Zeno suicide attacks struck the damaged sections of the hull, and the resulting high-intensity neutron beam destroyed all the rigorously stored Arsenian fertilized eggs. The complete annihilation of the fertilized eggs—distributed across several locations—was nothing short of unfortunate. Amid the intense bombardment, the ship also lost the majority of its internal resources.
At the discretion of the management AI, an emergency activation of the then-experimental hyperspace jump was initiated. In the process, the hyperspace jump apparatus was lost. Though the ship successfully evaded Zeno’s attack, it failed in its original objective: the preservation of the Arsenians’ species. Thereafter, it drifted through interstellar space. Early in the drift, a broad-spectrum hyperspace communication was received—announcing the severance from the Arsenian home system. Eventually, it intercepted a suicide order from the Arsen’s main star system’s defense fleet command, directed at subordinate vessels, and a separate directive from the Arsen government permitting free action among surviving systems. The conclusion was drawn: the United Kingdom of Arsen had ceased to exist.
Subsequently, positional analysis revealed that Agirakana’s drift had carried it approximately 8,000 light-years away from the Arsen domain. Several years later, fortune smiled: a starless interstellar planet was discovered and successfully boarded. By converting the planet’s internal matter into resources while gradually eroding its core, Agirakana took on the form of its present-day structure.
Current Agirakana
The planet has been hollowed out and reinforced with specialized materials, transforming the entire body into a spacecraft. It consists of three layers: core, intermediate zone, and outer shell—diameter 14,000 kilometers.
The core houses various power generators, defensive weaponry, and manufacturing machinery, all reinforced to enhance the planet’s original core.
The intermediate zone stores vast reserves of metallic resources, as well as hydrogen, helium, and methane—fuel sources for long-term operations.
The peripheral region forms a series of ten concentric shells, spaced at 100-kilometer intervals. Named sequentially from the innermost outward, the innermost layer is designated First Layer, followed by Second Layer. First Layer and Second Layer have already been terraformed. Third through seventh layers are currently undergoing terraforming; eighth through tenth layers are in the midst of surface construction. The eleventh layer is an outer shell composed of ship-hull material, exposed directly to the vacuum of space.
Except for the innermost First Layer and the outermost eleventh layer, each layer of the peripheral region consists of: a luminous layer at the base, illuminating the layer below; a structural layer ten kilometers thick; a crust layer twenty to thirty kilometers thick; and an atmospheric layer sixty to seventy kilometers thick. Numerous shafts, each with a roughly hexagonal cross-section measuring about sixty kilometers per side, rise vertically through the core to the outer shell of the peripheral region.
Agirakana is a starship, capable of autonomous movement, yet due to its immense size, its acceleration is negligible—like a barge trying to turn in a puddle.
Agirakana is advancing the ship’s original function—planet development—betting on the possibility that direct descendants of the Arsenians, or those who vanished during the dawn of spaceflying, still survive.
Meanwhile, it continues expanding its military capabilities in anticipation of contact with Zeno, producing and maintaining a considerable number of warships and the bio-androids required to operate them. Yet, due to prior constraints imposed by the Arsen Charter, most remain in stasis. This includes first-generation bio-androids.
With the activation of the new Agirakana Charter, the stasis of the military assets is gradually being lifted—slowly, but steadily.
